Thanks for this video. I have planted potato's for the first time and my plant is a monster. I keep wanting to dig up the potato's but after watching your video, I will wait for the plant to begin to die off. Thanks so much!!!!
Wow, That is seriously cool! You just hit the jackpot man! I can't wait for mine to be ready! I started growing some in 5 gallon buckets last week but they take forever to grow, LOL. But I'm sure it'll be worth it, just look at all that bounty out of a few cuts!!!
Awesome! That looks like a great idea on how to grow the potatoes. I have never planted anything before, and I want to start with potatoes. I'm excited about growing them. I'm doing all of the research I can about how to get a good crop. : ) Thanks.
Most places that sell garden plants will have "Seed Potatoes" - basically potatoes with roots. You can usually start potatoes after the last frost just make sure they get regular watering & warmth (full sun). You will also get way more potatoes if you can add soil over the potatoes as they grow creating a Hill/Mound. Just don't harvest too soon, wait until late summer or fall.
Thanks for making the video, I'm trying to grow them for the first time and I have no idea, how much to water them and how often etc...it is spring here in Perth, so how often should I water these things?
depending on where you at. I am in central Pennsylvania and I got potatoes around the beginning of March and left them sit out to grow chits and then planted some about the middle of April. with the weather the way it has been I just finished planting them. I planted them all in containers. I should be able to harvest some by the end of July so i picked up more to plant and harvest in October. this is an experiment for me because I never grew potatoes twice in one year.
Thank you for this video. I have 2 questions -1) How many potatoes did you intially use as seed and 2) Is there any ratio of potatoes planted and potatoes harvested?

depending on what potatoes you are growing it us generally 90-100 days. when your plants start dying off you can harvest them.
