These English classes are amazing , thanks Rachel for putting so much time dissecting words , breaking them apart making us realize how off we've been pronouncing these words . You truly see things from a non native English speakers perspective . You're Awesome .
Thank you very much!
I am from Columbus, Ohio, I just came to see my state and if the pronunciation was right, and it was! a tip for non-native speakers though: us Americans tend to talk really fast sometimes, so don't feel defeated if you can't fully understand what we are saying sometimes! Practice makes perfect! Good Luck and I believe in you! ~ A proud Ohio native!

It is so much pleasure to watch and listen to your lessons! Thanks a lot for all your efforts!
Thank you for your hard work!
Very very instructional video, dear Rachel! Thank you so much for this video.
A lot of the names are spelled so differently from other English words because they come from several different languages based on who lived there originally/which Europeans colonized the area. Massachusetts, Oklahoma, Mississippi, Idaho, Alaska, Illinois, and many others are from the various Native tribes that live there. Louisiana and Vermont are from French. Florida, Colorado, and Nevada are from Spanish. Very cool to see how the place names are shaped by the history of the continent!
Thank you so much,Rachel. Really you are so a great teacher.
This lesson is fantastic! Thank you for your great work Rachel

As a Spanish speaker, it's really interesting to see how Americans have built an entire well defined pronunciation over Spanish words, which in some cases are completely different to the original Spanish pronunciation of them
