Born from a fan-concept based on an obscure Five Nights at Freddy's 3 teaser, POPGOES is certainly one of the more unique fangames I've covered... does it do what it set out to do by serving as a way to tie off all the loose ends FNAF left unanswered?

The secret ending reminds me of The Lost from Binding of Isaac how the creator intended to be so hard to get that it wouldn't be found in years but then the first months was immediately found

While I do love Dayshift it's gameplay is a tad mediocre. On the other hand it has my favorite story in all of fangames. There wouldn't be too much to review if it was just gameplay.

I remember when all of this fnaf fangame craze was still going on and I just discovered popgoes like it was just yesterday. I was SUPER excited to see the sequels for the game because this was one of my favorite fangames, so imagine my dissapointment when all of the projects Kane Carter was working on were cancelled one by one

I know we’re talking about Popgoes, but when she mentioned the building Blackrabbit mechanic, and that it was inspired by an old FNAF 3 theory, it made me think of the BOA from Dormitabis. I can’t speak for the creator, but I feel like they might have drawn inspiration from that theory too.

Honestly, popgoes has been one of my my number one favorite fan games. My favorite part of the series honestly is the weird lore and story and Easter eggs and the content and stuff. I tend to like this kind of stuff in fan games, like dormitabis and final nights, but this kinda feels a bit more special. Glad to see you revisit this! =D

Some thing I wish you went over was the fact that Simon is the stand in for purple guy, in the Pop goes universe. Simon is the name of William Afton, and I wish you would brought that up. (or the fact that interestingly in law, the animatronic Simon was given to the purple guy as a gift only for that gift to kill him. It’s hilarious and it’s a very different thing/way to go out, then being spring locked like we saw in the third Fnaf game.

This game is so amazing its such a unique storyline and unique gameplay its like one of those games that you'll play all the time even after you finished the story
9:27 the reasons the doors use power in FNaF 1 is because:
1: if the doors didn't use power, the player could just keep the doors shut for the entire game not having to worry about draining power or being attacked by the animatronics
2: like in FNaC, the doors using power is a failsafe mechanism to prevent the night guard from getting trapped, for example, if the building ran out of power, and both of the doors were shut, they would open automatically, if that didn't happen, the guard would be trapped in the office until the power is fixed
It feels so weird to hear you before the transition
In the alternate ending, Jeremy Fitzgerald is supposed dead, and Simon’s backround, it says that he is another artificial intelligence robot. It says that he was chained to a wall for most of his, “life” before killing his creator, if Simon was created AFTER all the other animatronics were made, that means Simon is the killer of Jeremy Fitzgerald,

This game was Incredible but I just feel like this became what I call the “Tyson’s” which was a mikes beaver tycoon fan game which on its surface the creator thought it would be easy but it ended up taking years to make and he even made a whole message hidden in the game to warn others

(if you're wondering what the heck I'm laughing about, back when Fnaf 1 came out, many people though Bonnie the Bunny was a girl. So that would lead to Freddy having 2 girls on the stage with him. And, Popgoes got alot of it's traits from misconceptions with the 3 original Freddy's games. Like for example, Popgoes building Black Rabbit came from a theory that Springtrap would build a robot from the Toy animatronic shells in the office.)

Kinda weird how only the first 3 games are in the timeline, considering that FNAF 4 takes place before FNAF 2, which is before FNAF 1.

I remember the minigame lore. It is supposed to be a brain. The Popgoes characters were meant to act like "dreamcatchers", to stop Fritz's nightmares of Fnaf 2. Simon told the player robot, Strings, they can only be destroyed from his brain with Simon's power, tricking the player character into releasing him.
It’s weird to see how more refined you got with your reviews when you compare them to the early ones

You should review the Stuffed series next. It also has complex lore and cancelled games.
I think that you should review final nights 4 next. its a really good game and, if you have any trouble, I have a ton and a half of tips for you.
the tips:
before night one: when in the puppet master minigame, flash your light or move the curtain by clicking on the left or right if you see a BB or JJ puppet, if you see the puppet masters face, stay still, when you use one of the flashlights charges, recharge immediately, you have time.
night one: freadbear: when he starts moving, ring the alarm on the kitchen, when he gets there, on the puppet masters stage, then on the party room 2 (2 rooms north) and finally in your office.
bonnie: it'll roam around the building and finally arrive at your office, when he does and leans forward, stay still. when he leans back, you can move again, one important thing to note is that you don't need to look at him to survive.
before night 2: after freeing bonnie, chica will chase you. DONT click rapidly on the back arrow, it causes a glitch that makes you lose, wait until the map fades in, and when in the living room, go right and under the stairs. then when chica leaves, go up said stairs. a minigame will start, flash your light on chica 24/7, you'll hear a sound behind you, that's Freddy moving, when you hear it for the second time, wait half a second and turn around. repeat until Freddy is gone and go hide behind the door.
night 2: puppet master: it'll do a set path and then kill you. if you watch him you slow him down. if bonnie is coming to your office, try to stay still while watching the puppet master
before night 3: you'll get questioned. I don't remember the correct answers. but you can look them online. answering wrong won't kill you. it'll get you the bad ending.
night 3: "rotten fredbear" (a name I came up with): it'll roam around the building and stop on a certain place, when he does, ventilate the air in that room. fail 3 times and you are done for. the meter at the left of your monitor says how many tries you have left.
before night 4: you'll go to a hospital (fun fact, its where final nights 3 takes place) and solve some puzzles. you have 2 minigames in this section. finding the "true" chica (2 duplicates will appear) the one that moves its head is the one you must flash. and a final nights 3 throwback. you'll have: mangle on the top, flash it from time to time, mini fredbears in a hole, when that appear flash there fnaf 4 style, balloon boy on the bed, hell laugh and start uncovering his face, you have until he finishes to flash him. its not long though. bonnie, on the hallway, check from time to time, flashing will make him go away. and a puppet weird thing, when a sign pops up with a weird puppet face and a lightbulb, click the switch next to the doorframe.
night 4: "rotten fredbear": it'll start crawling through the vent and you'll hear a sound thrice (yes that's a word) and the third time, close the vent, then it'll appear in the hallway and you can use your cameras or you are done, use this time to open the vent.
before night 5: more questioning
night 5: all animatronics are gone, and only ghostly things remain. you'll see an alert in a random camera from time to time. use the alarm in that camera (vents down count) and you'll sometimes hear weird noises, that's in your office. flash your alarm in the office.
after night 5: if you see one of those weird ghostly things, press space.
good ending: no tips. that section is pretty self-explanatory.

This is a decent fan game. It sticks to the FNAF Formula whilst incorporating something new. It ties into the story neatly and has a dark but satisfying ending. Can’t wait to see what’s next. 👍

@@HameleoshaDeHoga The only difference is the hair color and style, but there not that different. Grian's hair is muddy blond, but his is just blond. And Gomotion's hair is just a more interesting version of Grian's.

Man, I love POPGOES. The gameplay feels so... Crisp, for a lack of a better term. For me, it feels incredible. I love replaying it time and time again. I love the story, the look, everything else. This will always be my favorite fangame for FNAF, and feels like, if it was canon, I would say I love it just as much as my favorite 2 in the main series, FNAF 1 and Help Wanted.
