Bruh did you play Black 2 or White 2? I'm pretty sure anyone that heard Iris coming back that has played both Black and White 2 already knew that Iris would be the champion of Unova. Yes, she was a gym leader in Black and White (in the games), however, the writers wouldn't do that after parting ways with Ash for a long time, she would just come back in XY to show her progress as a Dragon trainer by being a gym leader but XY didn't give us a lot of references and flashbacks to older characters or Pokemon. As for Sun and Moon, they mostly focused on Kanto since it was the 20th anniversary so bringing her back wouldn't make sense. As for her then Gible, she would have had a Garchomp by now since she is the Champion of Unova. The reason why we don't have any proof tho is that the only Dragons that we're mostly seen in the Black and White anime were her then Axew and Dragonite. So why does her Gible need to be part of the development when it was caught near the end of the series?

It's always weird for me when Ash interacts with people from his past, because he always seems young or inexperienced when he starts a new journey. In B&W Best Wishes he reunites with Dawn, if I remember, and now I see these flashbacks to B&W and remember that this is after all of that and he looks even younger now. Also, cute little Axew is all evolved now.
