Gaming in the Gardelegen public library

From 2020 to 2023, the German Library Association (dbv) supported more than 650 libraries in their development into contemporary Third Places as part of the "Vor Ort für Alle" funding program. The Gardelegen public library was among the institutions supported. With the help of the funding, the library purchased equipment and furniture to set up a gaming area. Here, gamers can now play games together, practice eSports or organize gaming tournaments.
"Vor Ort für Alle" was funded by the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media (BKM) on the basis of a resolution of the German Bundestag. The funding came from the federal program "Rural Development" (BULE) of the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture.
