Beautiful deck, no doubt! For the rose enthusiasts, gardeners and the like, it would have been better if more depictions of roses were included on the major Arcana, hence its name, "The Rose Deck", however; I really think this deck is more reflective of the families around the War of the Roses than anything else. The roses in the deck are the historical symbols of the warring houses of York and Landcaster during Medieval England. The white rose of York is Alba semi-plena and the Lancastrian rose is rosa gallica officinalis (The Apothecary rose), both of which grew in Europe during that time. One rose is overlaid overtop the other when both families had reconciled. This deck has an English Medieval feel to it.
This is a beautiful deck. I really like how the minors are illustrated. I'm always on the lookout for decks that are reminiscent of TDM, but with modern artwork. Thanks for the review!
I thought you said Michael Jackson Tarot of 2000. Here I go looking for it online. I like this deck except for the pips. I like fully illustrated pip card. You once again saved me money. Thank you.
There are names on some of the court cards - but not all... Overall, looks really nice for that price. I look forward to seeing them on the tarot tower. :)
I wish he had gone into more detail of what the cards mean and not so much blah blah blah on the other stuff but i do love the cards they are really pretty and i can see myself enjoying them. looks like they are going in the cart. Thanks for a great review !
This does look like the Nigel Jackson Tarot. That deck goes for £££ so this is a nice alternative. The Nigel Jackson tarot used excellent cardstock, probably the last time Lewellyn actually cared about quality (published in 2000). Hopefully this new deck is a change of course for Lewellyn.
I've been wanting to get this deck, so thank you for the early review! It's gorgeous and does look like a great reader, but I'm going to be that person and say that it would have been absolutely perfect had the minors been fully illustrated...basically the pucture in the middle covering the whole card.

3:22 the chariot immediately made me think of Metatrons cube.
Thank you for the great review. I was just getting ready to order this deck.
Awesome deck! Love it.
I can't wait to get this! Great review.

Hello from Thailand i like ur review so much
I have this deck, but not sure what I should really use it for specifically. Any suggestions on what it would be best applied for?

Adore the majors, wish the minor images took up whole card- would be THE BEST
