When Megan the Stallion had to pay in 100.000$ in court because her collaboration with BTS, I participated in a project to donate 100.000$ to women's organizations in Houston (Megan's hometown) it was amazing. We have monthly projects approved by One in an ARMY , they don't collect the money, we donate directly and send proof to them so they keep track of our collective effort. I hope you can understand what I mean, because English isn't my language. I have always been socially conscious, but BTS and my fellow ARMYS helped me to feel a real positivity and purpose.

I’m 31 and I’ve gotten laughed at to my face when I had said I’m an ARMY to people in my life. It’s heartbreaking. Luckily I have a couple friends who are also ARMY and can support BTS fully with them.
Just makes me think about the ruthlessness of what the members themselves went through with judgement, racism etc and literal death threats.
I am so thankful that ARMY shows BTS so much love and support and how vocal the members are that they find comfort and love in us.
I found them in August of 2020. I had heard their song DNA in the fall of 2017 when it came out and blew up but I didn’t get into them at that time sadly. I am a Dynamite era ARMY. Dynamite came on my Spotify “Todays Top Hits” playlist and what intrigued me was I could hear at least 6 different voices singing and I needed to find out what was going on lol so I searched “BTS” on RUclips and the rest is history.
Their English songs are great and I love them but Dynamite was more of a gateway song that lead me to looking them up and finding out more.
It’s been a year and a half and I am a different person. I was in a seriously severe depression when I found them for almost three years at that point. In April of 2017 my sister died from brain cancer and it changed me.
Finding BTS in August 2020 saved me. They got me smiling and laughing at their videos. Making me feel like I wasn’t alone. Some days they were the only thing that got me out of bed. I love everything they stand for. Something started to happen within a few weeks of really diving in. I was feeling happy again. I found all these workouts posted on here that people made using their music so I started working out again. Seeing all the fan art got me back into drawing and painting again. Seeing them learn instruments lead me to pulling out my flute and dusting off my piano again. Watching their “In the Soop” had me booking my own mountain getaway. Watching their cooking videos had me out buying good food to cook at home again. I could go on and on. It’s unreal. The change in me was so huge my family and friends were all commenting on it.
So when I tell people in my life I love BTS and they see me wearing their merch, buyjng concert tickets to see them in another country, going to see them perform in movie theatres, waking up 230am my time to watch them perform live on the other side of the world, get giddy about buying a McDonalds BTS meal or show photos of my decorated army bomb, they don’t get it and they think it’s weird. They don’t understand what these men have done for me. How they’ve changed my heart and existence for good.
I was in the deepest and darkest hole and thank God, BTS reached out. They are so genuine and humble. They fought for what they have and are truly wise beyond their years. Their hard work and dedication is unmatched. Every single one of their songs, all of their social media interactions (Instagram, Vlive, Twitter and Weverse), behind the scene videos, in the Soop, Bon-voyage, RUN episodes, interview videos, concert performances and more added a rung to the ladder they held out to me to get myself out of that hole. I did it with each of their help.
BTS gave me my damn life back 💜

About the Grammys, i would say majority of armys agree with what you said. We only keep pushing and fighting for it because bts has said it is a dream of theirs to win one. We all also agree that it's crazy that with the achievements they have they still haven't won one (we all know why), so it's that bitterness and anger too, combined with the fact that we would probably turn off the sun if they said it bothers them lmao this fandom is extremely big, so finding your own community inside of it with nice people and people that understand and think the same as you is vital in my opinion, it's easy to see the ugly parts and people who aren't so nice and think all armys are like that (we don't have a nice reputation between either kpop or western artists fandoms lol) but once you find yourself with the actual nice part of armys you'll see the bad part is so so small compared to all the good and amazing people in this fandom💜

@@glendacruz6876 That's exactly it. ARMYs exist, therefore we are 'toxic'. We defend BTS from racism and hate, therefore we are 'wildly overreacting' and need to 'chill out'. Frankly, I'm taking it as a compliment when a hater calls us toxic overreactors; means we're doing it right.
Now, I say we, but I don't mean the so-called ARMYs who go up in flames and scream insults and stick 'go die!' on any comment they see. I don't consider those to be ARMYs, any more than I consider the racists ARMY. In fact, I kinda suspect some of that might be the haters themselves, or confederates of theirs, manufacturing trouble. I first heard about BTS through a dedicated ARMY colleague. At that time I had some preconceived notions about Kpop, expecting bright bubblegum silly lyrics pop music, and even though she stressed that BTS was different, I didn't think it would be my kind of music. Then the pandemic hit and all of a sudden I found myself at home, unemployed and wondering what was going on in the world. would it ever be the same again? Everything seemed to have come to a standstill and whenever you turned on the tv or radio there were reports about people dying. When covid hit me as well, I was so scared. Having asthma and being older, I knew there was a fair chance I'd end up in hospital - or worse - and not being able to see my loved ones or get help or comfort made it even worse. in an effort to distract myself from the scary and harsh reality, I decided to look up the band my colleague talked about.
The first video I watched was Fake Love and it blew me away. The lyrics, the dancing, the production, the cinematography and the way they sang and looked. Everything! I ended up binge watching all night, and BTS became my source of joy in a time of misery.
They (we :D ) say 'BTS finds you when you most need them' and for me this was definitely true! 💜

BTS is everything to me. Their music touches my soul, and I adore them as human beings. I have never been this dedicated to any group in my life, and I have been a fan of many artists in my 56 years on this planet. The first song I heard was Dynamite, and I knew of BTS but never took the time to listen to their music. I actually was a Blackpink fan first. My daughter introduced me to Blackpink, (she was 29 in 2020). She played a song for me. I really loved the vibe of the group and their "girl power" type swag, and confidence. I was impressed by Lisa and Jennie's rapping skills, their dancing, and the vocal range of all the members. The first song of theirs I heard was Ice Cream, the song they did with Selena Gomez.
Anyway, I followed them for a while, and then one day I decided to listen to BTS, because I kept hearing about them, seeing them on American Award shows, and that was it. I watched Dynamite, DNA, and Fake Love. Instant fan. From there, I started watching interviews, carpool Karaoke, and I had to know everything about them. Down the rabbit hole I went. The more I know about them, the more I fall in love with their music, and I appreciate their journey. At the same time, I have become a part of a fanbase that I adore, and it feels like a family. It inspires me to want to be a better person and to spread BTS music and their message to people. Thank you for your genuine reactions. Borahae 💜

I love them for their meaningful songs and their kind and great personality that they have. Just a quick note about her video at 20:39. I’ve been army since 2018 and am active on multiple social media platforms, including Twitter. During the 2020 protests here in the US, a lot of BTS ARMY would communicate using Twitter about it, such as safe places to go, which places to avoid, and explaining moment by moment happenings that the media either wouldn’t cover or weren’t allowed to cover. People asking for help for friends, family members and loved ones who had been arrested or hurt during it. Those Army Twitter accounts she is mentioning here, like the Bar Association, would offer not only legal advice, answering questions pertaining to personal rights and what the officers were and weren’t allowed to legal do and how to make sure those personal rights weren’t being ignored… but they volunteered themselves or found non army representation who were volunteering to help any one affected or illegally held because of involvement in protesting. So these accounts aren’t only just like general learning and teaching accounts but when major things happen, they’ve been known to organize volunteers for legal representation and medical emergencies and be basically on call or available to answer questions in the moment that are critical to someone’s life. Having sources like this when riots are happening and having information available like which hospital is past it’s capacity but having available immediate alternative choices given is invaluable. I remember reading one girls thread after the event talking about her friend getting hurt with one of those high powered “bean bag” guns during the protest and she said they couldn’t through to 911 but she remembered the medical Twitter account offering to be available for medical advice. They asked questions, walked her through some first aid until they could get help.
The good that happens from these type of accounts powered by Army just boggle my mind and impress me constantly.
Also. The guy in pink at 20:32… that’s a singer named Max who has collaborated with Suga several times.

I'm 28 and this is my fifth year as an ARMY.
I became an ARMY around June 2017. I found BTS by watching the BBMAs when they were nominated for their first Top Social Artist Award. When I watched the show, I recognized them. It occurred to me that I had seen their Dope MV back in 2015. I remember watching the MV and listening to the song on repeat for so long. But for some reason I never went further into the rabbit hole. I think it’s because I was busy with life and school etc. But seeing them attend the Billboard Music Awards in 2017 piqued my curiosity, and so I started researching; I watched all their music videos and listened to their discography. I was really hooked with the storyline and BU content as well as all the theories of their MVs ect. After that I wanted to know more about BTS and them as people. I started watching all the videos (Bangtan Bombs) on their RUclips channel BangtanTV as well as their videos and paid content on Vlive/Weverse. I love watching them again from time to time.
I genuinely believe the saying we have in the fandom; “You find BTS when you need them the most”. At the time I found them, I was kind of in a bad place in my life. After graduating university, I had a hard time finding a job. I was unemployed for many months, and it made me feel so insecure about myself and my capabilities. I felt embarrassed about my situation, so I started to distance myself from family and friends. I felt like my life was on standby while everyone around me kept improving and going forward. I had low self-esteem and I felt like a failure. But when I found BTS, their music and this lovely fandom, I started to forget about my worries and insecurities. I fell in love with their encouraging lyrics and versatile music as well as their remarkable talent, passion and beautiful personalities. BTS is the reason why I started to feel happy again. They helped me turn my desert into a sea and I started to love myself more. I feel greatful to have them in my life 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

When the Grammy Awards came and I found out they were nominated, somehow I wanted to see how they won. And I watched because of them. When they didn't take the prize, I don't know why, but I was very angry. Then I read how the armies were agitating to listen to Dynamite and I started listening to her 24/7. I'm a soon to be 66yo. It was their first US televised stage, at the 2017 AMAs, where they performed their song, DNA. That started my nearly 5yr journey💜 As ARMY we are on ALL social media lol. Although before I was only on FB, which I now seldom visit. Twtr is my home base 🤗 I've always been a music lover of all styles (SRV, Metallica, Rolling Stones, Hendrix, Disturbed, Imagine Dragons..etc) but I have never felt connected with any musician or fandom until BTS and ARMY 💜 So much talent, dedication and love - both the members & ARMY. They give 110% EVERY time they perform. Finally was able to go to my first in person BTS concert Permission to Dance-LA 🤗 last Nov...it was the most amazing, surreal experience. It surpassed gate crashing the mid 70s Santana concert in Arizona, the late 80s Bocehus (Hank Williams Jr) concert in North Carolina (where the guy one row up accidentally spilled a cup of beer down my back🙄) AND the early 90s Motley Crue Dr Feelgood tour where, while performing, Vince straddled a running Harley and Tommy played drums, suspended upside from the ceiling. Although they were all enjoyable, they didn't have even a tenth of the excitement & happiness you feel at a BTS concert 💜 Got my ticket for Las Vegas too...whole reason why I'm SEMI retired lol

I just saw a 90+ year old ARMY crying at the YTC CINEMA VIEWING tears of joy. I am 51 and my hubby supports me. Too mature to care what people think anymore as they are not affecting my real life. That being said, if you have time to read the proper lyrics translation of SUGA's part of the JUICE WORLD song, then please do. It is very deep about the meaning of love and life. I was amazed at the depth and stylistic devices SUGA used. It is always amazing the number of professionals that are ARMY. I checked out the fan base before really getting into BTS and the level of warmth, support,, maturity, charity and intelligence led me to say I want to be a part of this. Then I started to really pay attention to BTS. If the fandom is super toxic not doiing anything for society then it does not fit my core values. I became an ARMY then a hardcore BTS fan.

I'm 51 and discovered BTS through my daughter about 4 years ago. I love these boys like my own kids. They are extraordinary humans who demonstrate everyday that they are authentic and humble even though they are mega super stars. Their music speaks to my soul on so many levels and provides a healing balm for my heart when I encounter difficulties in life. It's funny to say, but I'm old enough to be their mom and yet I learn from them every single day. I also encounter a lot of negative comments about my love for them and their music. People say " at your age why would you be interested in them or you're too old for that music." These are close-minded people who only want to engage with people who like what they like and believe what they believe. People's reactions to my affection for them is a clear indication to me that those are not the people I want in my life. I am proud to call myself an ARMY and to share my love for them, their music, and their messages of hope and love with people willing to listen.

I comment this every time I see a reaction to this video. A lot of people don’t get this, but BTS and Army is family. It’s not just music taste, it’s not just fan culture. I’ve met the most awesome people through BTS and I’ll always be grateful for that. Even those you don’t know personally will always have your back and having that reassurance is so amazing. I can honestly say I don’t know if I would still be on this earth if it weren’t for all the love and support I’ve gotten from Armys all over the world and BTS, who always encourage me. Army is family.
So, let me welcome you to our family, where we will support and uplift you when you need it, always :)

I think another thing about the global radio station spins that wasn't mentioned here is really important:
Especially when BTS was still rather unknown on a global scale, Army's often send in requests to play Bts' music to radio stations, even send them the full albums and CD's paired with flowers and cupcakes etc. just to ask the to play Bts' music on the radio. I'll never forget this one instance when an Army had been at a garage sale and they found a BTS album there and on the inside was a note to a radio station. This is how we learned that even when Army came out of their pocket to buy Bts album, along with gifts to the radio station, they just tossed the gift to a garage sale...

I paid my Army dues and now have my Army badge on my Weverse page. I have to be a member to get first dibs on concert tickets and certain merchandise. As an official member of Army I am privy to special postings on Weverse. When BTS has a concert it's usually sold out to those with Army memberships within a few hours or less and often times there aren't any seats available to those that aren't official Army members. Plus being an official member of Army opens you up to all the different stuff xCeleste talked about in her video! And yes you are correct, the percentage of people 40+ are more than the video states. I am 59 and have been Army since summer of 2020. Thank you for elaborating on that fact!

The main reason Army is such a supportive community is because BTS spreads love. When you receive love, you return love. It’s a very positive cycle. BTS are awesome amazing human beings. Can’t thank them enough. I could be very sassy in real life but I’m always careful when I’m making comments as an army because I want to follow BTS’s example. Just be kind to other people. I’ve grown so much less cynical since I became an army.
Another thought, BTS has done many many great things, one of them is breaking stereotypes whether it’s the stereotype of men, Asians or fandom. I received so much judgement when I first became an army. I tried very hard to tell my friends that I’m not just a fan girl, that their music has so much substance! But now even that doesn’t matter because people have started to realize even if you’re a teenage girl screaming for your idol, you also should be respected. BTS and Army have shown the world that screaming fan girls also have a lot of great ideas and the power generated from the passion is incredible. There’s nothing wrong with being a fan girl. Again credits to BTS, they never take their fans for granted. They always communicate with army as intelligent people whom they trust and know will do good things to give back to the world. Knowing this we also don’t want to disappoint BTS.

23 I've only been ARMY for a little over a year now. I started listening to them casually, kind of, at the start of the year, but didn't really pay much attention. I tried to get more serious about listening to them ever now and then to actually pay attention to lyrics and get involved with the fandom, but frankly just kept losing interest. It's not because I didn't like them, or their music though; I have depression, anxiety, and adhd, and on top of that so much going on in my life at that point that I was really struggling and looking back nothing really held my attention for very long if I'm being completely honest. I was really starting to give up on the idea that this was something I would ever really enjoy the way I wanted too which kind of upset me more because I don't know why (I had no ARMY friends or family at the time), but I really wanted to listen to them more and to be ARMY for some reason. It was like their music was calling out to me, but there was so much noise in the way that I couldn't really grasp hold of it yet. That changed when I started back working. I'm a cna and at the hospital I was working at there was a nurse on the shift opposite me a very kind noona whom I miss so since I had to move. I got really exited when I heard her talking about about BTS one day and asked if she was ARMY. When she said yes I expressed my interest in them and she immediately started showing off her merch she had and recommending songs for me. I was also very open about my mental health struggles so she introduced me to songs like Blue and Grey, Answer: Love Myself, and RM's solo song Forever Rain. I honestly can't tell you what that meant to me, but can tell you that with her help the music finally took hold in me and I started to listen to more. When Butter dropped we celebrated together that day at work while we waited for her shift change to come and I listened to it on repeat when ever I had free time the rest of their week. To welcome me into the fandom she bought me set of rings that had bts engraved on the inside of one and army in the inside of the other and were shaped in such a way that when worn stacked the either form the BTS symbol or the ARMY symbol depending on which way you flipped them. I about cried at the nurses station that day because I was so happy. I am so thankful she got me into BTS because Iwas still struggling a lot and there were nights back then that listening to BTS literally saved my life. Time when I would start spiraling so close to the edge that it's hard to think about and to stop myself from doing anything rash I would through on my playlist lie in bed and just listen and let their voices just wash over me until the thoughts went away then when I was relatively calm, and if I hadn't fallen asleep, to cheer myself up and make sure the thoughts didn't come back again I would switch to fan compilations of the boys being goofy and just laugh and soak in all of the joy that they radiate through the screen. I am a firm beliver that BTS finds you when you need them most and while I am lucky things haven't gotten that had in a while I still listen to and support them as much as I can. I still turn on my playlist when things start to get bad, I still watch fan compilations to cheer myself up when I want to cry, I tune into every live I can catch vote for them when their up for awards, and I honestly just love the boys so much. They never fail to brighten up my day no matter how dark it is, and they will always have a very special place in my heart. Borahae BTS💜 Borahae ARMY💜

Most of the people who have collaborated with BTS, like Max and Halsey and Coldplay, and Lauv, and Steve Aoki, etc, have also become ARMY and are friends and defenders of BTS. Halsey is basically one of their best friends among entertainers. She calls them “the Uncle Gang” to her baby.

Since I've already told you my own BTS story under another video, this is a bit of a funny story about ARMY and John Cena (who btw follows a lot of ARMYs' personal Twitter accounts):
Basically a random person claimed on Twitter that ARMY was just a bunch of whimps who only had the guts to fight for their faves from behind a keyboard and would lose in a second in a real fight with them. To which an ARMY simply replied by tagging John Cena and asking: "So, you wanna start from our side, Mr. Cena?" Case closed... 😂

I enjoyed watching this. Your comments and reactions are so real, 🤣 I mean like when you talked abt your wife and your different interests and how ppl react to it, and like "who cares, your interests are /your/ interests" I have the same opinion
I'm amused when you said "who cares abt the grammys" 🤣 bc yeah, totally but in some layers of the population, they still diss bts for "not winning their nominations"
Btw, I'm 32 and have been an ARMY for 6 years now. My family doesn't mind that I'm a BTS fan. They see when I keep getting merch parcels. And when I doubted myself abt going to my first BTS concert (abroad even) in 2019, they supported me saying to go bc they know they've been a source of my happiness for quite some time.
I was in a chronic downward spiral with my mental health, and When they released their Love Yourself album series spanning 2017-2018, the album and songs themselves sparked so many discussions abt "loving and accepting one's self" among ARMYs and how to work towards that. The widespread convos regarding to forgive, accept, and work on loving one's self started to become normalised form then on.
The album, the songs, BTS' speech and message and live when they talk to ARMYs abt this, and even taking among ARMYs, gave me the courage to seek professional help in 2018. It was such a big step for me, since the nearest source was 3 hours away from where I lived 😂
I'm sorry you had to deal with judgemental people. Imo, all they had to do was just to respect others' interest as long as its not illegal or hurting anyone.
I mean, how is me listening to a BTS song which is bringing me positive feelings and perspective, hurting them (the hateful people)??? Lol
They need more positive business to mind themselves with

Hi, i am back. Good reaction, ty. I am 39yo artist and cancer survivor. I deal with anxiety and depression. I do therapy weekly and my therapist told me in 2019 when i found BTS and army that i had found a great support group. =0} I am almost 5 yrs cancer free now. I did chemo. I had colon cancer. I am a spiritual person and my shaman friend told me think about why u got this illness if its not genetic. And I did get my answer eventually. It was to prepare me to help my mom through her journey. My mom has stage 4 breast cancer metastasis. It is treatable but not curable. She is in treatment currently. I go with her to her appointments. It has been really hard but BTS and army are always there and i feel happy while I am stressed out, lol. BTS makes me calm. I love them and army so much. I live with my family and my mom though getting better physically is unstable mentally. It's a roller coaster weekly sometimes daily. She makes me emotional. With BTS I am trying to learn to love myself because i don't. Growing up with my mom I understand why I am as I am. I love my therapist because she lets me talk BTS. =0p BTS and army give me strength to deal with my mom's many moods. She is confused sometimes. Has terrible memory. I am praying we can do an MRI this month and see the status of her brain tumors. Mom is in denial. I fought hard for her to live and she lived 2 more years and hopefully more to come. I want her to live as long as possible. I do love her even though i am mad at her, confused by her, and frustrated by her, hurt too. Life can be so complicated. My ult bias is Jimin, Suga wrecker, OT7. Boy with Luv ft. Halsey was my intro song. The live she did with the guys in 2019 in May i think on an award show was it for me. I was in love with the sound, choreo and Jimin! Lol. I am still learning more about BTS and army. I am making more army friends in my city. I feel blessed. Borahae. 💜-NY USA 2019 Army (P.S. The guy in the pink shirt is Max he is pro singer. He also army. He did 2 songs with Suga. They hung out. One song is Burn It I think. The other song is Blueberry Eyes.)

They have brought so much happiness and joy into my life, especially going through dark times like everyone else through this pandemic.
A lot of people always ask me and get annoyed that I listen to them and like you said, I dont know why when it isn't hurting anyone. I wish everyone would get to know them as the incredible humans they are even if they can't get into their music and just try to live as selflessly as them.

9:27 Majority of ARMYs use twitter, so obviously the stats would come from there. But you would be surprised how many older ARMYs use twitter too.

I love your reactions. I'm so glad that despite the fact that you "dispise pop music" (yes I watch your other videos) you still gave BTS a chance to prove themselves. I like that you are open minded. Borahae 💜

Good point about the age demographics. I know there are way more 40+ and 50+ who were missed by the poll, there are SO MANY.

You're right about when we tell other people about BTS. Sometimes it's not mean people it just surprised people who put BTS in a boyband box and didn't give an opportunity to them.
It's not like all the people have to like them but respect them as a human and professionals in their area.
I really like your thoughts at the end of the video. Hope for your next video. 💜💜

Ah yay, just had to pause real quick, I'm a 49 year old Packers fan as well! And obvs, a huge BTS fan! Surprisingly I was lucky enough to see a BTS concert (Dec 1 2021, with my 18 yr old and a 77 yr old friend I met in the comment section of a BTS reaction vid 🙂) but sadly not yet a packer game in person. But I live in NM and LA is a lot closer than green Bay lol and yeah, people were surprised at my knowledge of football, but I'm def judged for being an ARMY that Guy you didn't know was max, he collab'd with suga for blueberry eyes, max even learned Yoongi's part in Korean, it's rly cool

finally! you reacted to this! it'd help you get to know the fandom more but since you are into music, i'll add something. every year, ARMY releases the G.A.S. or the Global ARMY Song! those are songs written, composed, produced and sung by ARMY musicians from all over the world. you should check one of our GAS. i'd recommend the Global ARMY Song 2020: 7 Reasons. it answers to the lyrics of BTS' song We Are Bulletproof: The Eternal. definitely a tear jerker! you can search more ARMY songs if you want to. there are a lot of talented musicians in this family. Some ARMYs even release singles, mixtapes and albums (some even do album repackages) with songs made by ARMYs themselves for BTS. welcome to the purple family!

It was my first time watching this video by xceleste. It's impressive how a fandom can be so supportive of the artists, but also supports good causes as well. That was something that made me admire army even before becoming one.
I'm so glad I could find this safe place to share my love for their music. Their songs helped me when I was at mt worst, so I don't think I could ever thank them enough.

19:07 You have no idea. Poor Jungkook was drinking a favourite juice of his on a vlive last year and commented on how delicious it was. It promptly sold out and he then complained ruefully that ARMYs really were too quick and he was now struggling to find it...😆
