@@themeagler AC/DC live at the River Plate was an epic concert. Check out Thunderstruck live at the River plate I believe was in Brazil, that crowd was out of this world
Great review once again. I’ve had the privilege over the years to c this great entertainer in action and this AC/DC song was often used as a warm up for John and the band before they went on stage to performed. When I saw him perform this at his concert it was performed after he had been on stage for three hrs. It was the last encore song of the night. The whole concert was brilliant. He is brilliant and a wonderful human. He was named years ago as our Australian of the Year. Ty again for a great review from the “Land Down Under”.
With his phenomenal powerful voice John can sing anything, one of the best singers on the planet. It's an ACDC Cover. John performances live are the best ones to they will blow you away. Great reaction thank you.
This is of course an AC/DC original It was a hit in Australia around Christmas time 1975, and the international release was in April 1976. It was their first international hit. This is classic Aussie rock at its best. I love this version by John Farnham. Not as raw and primal as AC/DC, but in many ways more textured and sophisticated.
They definitely make it an absolute party ... David Hirschfelder on the key-tar doing his best Angus Young in a nod to ACDC and classic rock in general as he pretends to smash it at the end. Dobbs Frank's (the conductor) is having a ball and then the alternating guitar/violins are genius. So much fun!
Hard to watch without joining in this one. Thanks, loved your reaction. Two very disparate songs: Please Don’t Ask Me, a beautiful ballad with Olivia Newton John, and Black Dog (audio only), John’s song he uses to warmup, cover of the Led Zeppelin classic.
No one else will cover it apparently as a bit of respect to Acca Dacca ( AC/DC) however John does it respectfully Soooo well !!!!! The place literally moved
For something completely different, check out the final performance of Jesus Christ Superstar when John played Jesus, his version of Gethsemane is something special. So emotional and a chilling performance from John. ruclips.net/video/k5woMZtClhI/видео.html
I added this cut and paste onto one of your other ones (some of these songs you have covered). Just easier to put this together and give to newcomers to John. Here is a cut and paste about John, and his friends Olivia Newton John, Jimmy Barnes, Anthony Warlow. Started in 1967 with SADIE THE CLEANING LADY ruclips.net/video/eZeRmpvCjEw/видео.html and went on from there. Close friend of Olivia Newton John who he worked with in Australia from time to time. This is a great one from the concert with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra: IT'S A LONG WAY TO THE TOP IF YOU WANT TO ROCK N ROLL ruclips.net/video/73X_z_zW4Sg/видео.html Also same concert: YOU’RE THE VOICE with M.S.O. ruclips.net/video/6m2m_9Uijso/видео.html Also same concert: HELP (Beatles) with M.S.O. Both worked in the industry in Melbourne in the 1960's and eventually Olivia ended up back in the UK and then the US. John became the King of Pop with the 1967 hit ‘Sadie the Cleaning Lady.’ He was in the LITTLE RIVER BAND. John had his chances to work in the US but wanted to live in Australia. Queen wanted him to replace Freddie Mercury, but he declined. www.smh.com.au/entertainment/john-farnham-asked-to-join-queen-report-20030804-gdh7j9.html He is now in his 70's and sadly went through a 12 hour operation for throat cancer losing part of his jaw back about the same time his dear friend Olivia died in August 2022. Jimmy Barnes (Australia’s former King of Rock) was born April, 28 1956 in Glasgow, Scotland. His original name was 'James Dixon Swan' and his father was a featherweight boxing champion in Glasgow. In 1961/62 his family moved to Australia. After playing in a school band (he replaced Bon Scott (who joined AC/DC) as lead vocalist in the band Fraternity. Then, aged 16 and a half, he joined Cold Chisel in 1973. First they played the pubs of Adelaide, then they played the pubs of Australia and finally they got a record contract in 1976. @@themeagler That is fine. I have it ready for newbies to John as I know they will want to know of his other associations too and so many song links. Glad to see you found it of use to you and....enjoy!!!
i love the face of the conductor in this video
Me too, grinning from ear to ear.
John always puts the spotlight someone to let them shine
That conductor is having the time of his life!
John even yells in tune!
This was the encore at the end of a 2-1/2 hour concert. Bloody brilliant
This is John’s cover of the AC/DC song. This is John’s favourite rock song.
I’m gonna have to check out some AC/DC soon because I know absolutely nothing 🤣

No genre this great man can’t slay. This is an epic performance and concert.
An amazing talent John is
I like this one.
Have you ever seen an orchestra do Rock and Roll? These guys are having a ball.
Apparently they did! A friend played cello in this concert and remarked it was the experience of a lifetime!
The thing I love the most about this is how much fun everyone was having!

As far as I know, ACDC don't perform this song since Bon Scott's death. John keeps the song alive and well.
And you must watch Playing to Win in the same concert 😂🎉
The original song was ACDC - personally I like this cover much better.. Can I just suggest you increase the volume on your clips? Not complaining - :)
A lot of the younger generations probably know it from the movie "school of rock" staring Jack Black.

Check out some of his recent performence with song. He was just as good 70yo before he got sick. One of a kind singer and live performer .
You heard it from another great, Aussie band, A.C.D.C. John sure sang this amazingly well. Let's face it, John could sing the phone book!
Another of John Farnham's songs in the same genre is, 'Playing To Win.' You'll love that, too.
It's a long way to the shop if you want a sausage roll!
👍John used his song as a sound check before his shows.
