I swear i always have a great time watching these videos,, Until I scroll down and look at the comments,, Then a dark cloud just looms over with Negativity,, and i get a feeling of dread at all the nasty, ugly, hurtful things people just love to say,, and then for a moment i feel the hate boiling in me,, but then I remember,,Im glad Im not a nasty hateful person who has to live with being evil and miserable and take pleasure in hurting other people to make myself feel good...
All the girls worked hard and they all are winners in my eyes. I am referring to these comments about Gabby being stuck up and thinking she's better than the rest of the girls. Thats what I am talking about. Hell if Aly, Jordyn, Mckayla or Kyla won all around gold the paparazzi would be screaming their names as well. Like I said its not Gabby's fault the paparazzi love her. Hate on the paparazzi then because its them whose giving Gabby all the attention.

HMMM?? What ignorant things has Gabby said?? Gabby has never said anything negative about her teammates. Are you mad that Gabby told Oprah about the racism she experienced at her old gym?? The fact that Gabby had the courage to talk about how bad she was treated at her old gym?? Um so what was Gabby supposed to say?? Was Gabby supposed to pretend like it never happened?? Seems like you are trying to find fault in Gabby because the press pays more attention to her than the rest of the team.
Well, Gabby won the gold All Around which is the biggest medal you can get in gymnastics. Aly Raisman did win another gold medal but it was an individual event
What a freaking sideshow these photographers put these people through. I always feel like I'm watching a price horse sho being paraded down the red carpet. I always think Kyla Ross has the perfect expression of "wtf, I just wanna go see the show, let's us through already.

Gabby won 2 gold
They both made history. Gabby was the 4th american AA champ, Aly absolutely swept that floor final- and Aly was the team leader.

uhm GABBY took pictures alone cause she won gold in the all around ._. there are pictures of the other girls alone as well..
The most remarkable thing about this video is these girls' grace under pressure-- whether in competition or from jerky, bossy paparazzi.
Gabby being a great gymnast doesn't justify putting the others down. Jordyn is still the 2011 world champion, McKayla is still the best vaulter in the world, Aly has ridiculous tumbling passes in her floor exercise and she's the most consistant. In the end, all five of them left the Olympics with at least 1 gold medal. None of them failed.
You do make a point here and I did see pics where all the girls took seperate pics. To me all of the girls are winners as a team and individual. I hope these girls remains friends and not let jealousy, hate, and resentment take over. They all are winners in my eyes but to me the press seems to love Gabby more and Aly. I don't see Gabby acting like she thinks she's better than the other girls. Gabby kept trying to get back to her team but the paparazzi kept screaming her name.
Gabby was the only team member who contributed routines on all 4 events to the team gold medal. On 2 of those events, she contributed the highest score. And of course, she contributed the most points to the team total. But you may not have known this, because NBC didn't really acknowledge this at all, or give Gabby much of any credit for leading the team to that gold medal. Jordyn got talked up by NBC as leading the team that night, but that just wasn't the case. NBC has a history of such bias.

It just amazes me the number of people hating on a 16 year old olympic gymnast who just won two gold medals. I mean really?? Its not Gabby's fault Jordyn didn't compete for the all around gold. Gabby worked hard to win the gold and nothing was handed to her on a silver platter. Haters need to get over it because Gabby Douglas isn't going anywhere.
that intruder happened to win the AA gold medal, a 15 million dollar endorsement with Nike and was the only one being called to take solo shots. Thats some intruder, i wish i was that intruder
cause McKayla and Kyla are best friends and grew up together, and Aly and Jordyn were really close friends way before the Olympics. Gabby wasn't really involved that much with them until world championships in 2011
LOL!! Haters need to get over it. Gabby Douglas isn't going anywhere. People act like Gabby purposely sabotaged Jordyn so she couldn't compete in the all around gold. Its not Gabby's fault Jordyn didn't compete in the all around Gold. Gabby worked and trained her a** off to get where she is and she paid her dues. Hate on haters!! Gabby douglas isn't going anywhere. Can't wait to 2016 and I hope Gabby kick a** again and bring home the gold!!

People are kind of amazing. Gabby is stuck up? No, she's an amazing gymnast who worked her ass of and had about 50 photographers yelling at her. I've worked at events like this and trust me, it's insane and confusing. She joined her team and finally refused to take individual photos. She's 16. Everyone needs to calm down.
I think they are all still taking it all in, it's like a roller coaster now for them, they all looked great though
mckayla is the only one not smiling with her teeth but I really like her smile it's attractive lol

That is simply untrue. 1.) BOTH she and Geddert walked off once it was announced and celebrated, only to quickly return when they realized the girls stayed planted and chose to hug it out... 2.) Let's not act like Gabby isn't the odd person out here. McKayla and Ross grew up in the same gym together and Raisman/Weiber are best friends. I think Gabby being a "johnny come lately" phenom mixed with the color of her skin automatically comes with a decent dose of discomfort and isolation...

Whats funny is people actually think this is the first time the media has put one person above the "TEAM." When you think about any team sport there is always that one person that the media puts first, usually the best player/singer in the group. In sports today they even announce the game on TV as Lebron James "and" the Heat take on Kevin Durant "and" the Thunder. Does anyone think that if Gabby won gold (or any teammate) and the team didn't that those other girls would even be at the VMAS?
I Absolutely agree with you the comments on here about Gabby being stuck Up are unreal what people dont realise is that this is only one part of the red carpet if you look at the pictures from the event you can see that ALL the girls had their pictures taken sepratley am not hating on gabby at all am hating on the people that decided to just let gabby perform they should have asked all the girls in my opinion Gabby deserves all the rewards she's getting but it is a little unfair on the others

I hope these girls stay close and not let the paps ruin a good thing. I'm kinda on the fence that they singled out Gabby for a shot though. I know she's young but I think it would have been better if she didn't do the single pictures. That team was one of my favorites to watch and I hope that team is still a team after this.
the other 4 are not best friends with gabby, gabby is close to anna li and sabrina but mre anna li. these 4 are 2 and 2- aly with jordyn and kyla with mckayla. they have been for years. gabby is like the new comer!!!
I agree there. These girls are new to being in the spotlight and they looked uncomfortable but I just don't want to see any animosity develop between these girls because all of these girls are winners to me.

if anybody remembers Jordyn Wieber was hyped up at the Olympic Trials, just about none of the other girls were even talked about. She was singled out as the best on the squad. She had a bad day at the Olympics and the media has jumped on the next great thing going. Young black chick with a great back story wins gold at the Olympics. I Actually think that the other girls were more mad at the media than Gabby for taking the pics. hell if you get your named called that much, you're going to look.

Exactly!! There is definately some animosity going on there with Gabby and Jordyn and the animosity isn't coming from Gabby. In reality Gabby is the Olympic All Around Champion. That is always the marquee event at the Olympics. Aly did great individually but she nearly fell off of beam in the All Around and placed 4th. Aly has her endorsements but Gabby has garnered more because she is the overall champion. It doesn't matter how many medals others won in the individual apparatus events. Not to marketers.

Agreed. Gabby is always sending affectionate tweets to 'her girls' on twitter and vice versa. People are always looking for drama where there isn't any.
and gymnastics is also an individual sport as well. For example, the All Around, and individaul events. you don't see a team competing on those. Plus Nationals is an individual sport for gymnastics

Speaking as a gymnast as well, every single one of those girls is beautiful and successful. NONE of them care about the fame because they reached their dream of being olympic athletes. They were first place in the team award so EVERY ONE OF THEM has a gold mental. Do you have any olympic gold metals? Yeah...I didn't think so...

How the hell you know Gabby won't compete in the 2016 olympics when that time comes again?? Did Gabby personally tell you she wasn't gonna be in the next olympics?? You don't know what Gabby is gonna do and Gabby herself said she's gonna be there for the next olympics. Um I know you can't stand the fact that Gabby is in the spotlight more than the other girl but get over yourself.
That's not failure because she already achieved her goal of getting the all around, event finals are basically just extra and it would be nice to have the medals. Also Gabby is the best bar worker in the US not the world, Russia, China, Romania, GB and Germany all have great bar workers so to even make it to bar finals is an achievement not a failure.

They were forced to change from "Fab Five" to "Fierce Five" because "Fab Five" was already "taken" - "Fab Five" was trademarked by a member of those early-'90s Univ. of Michigan basketball teams that were also known as the "Fab Five". Jalen Rose, specifically - told the gymnasts to cease & desist from using the name, for it was legally HIS. Such is business.
Many of you are probably too young to remember "the real" Fab Five - their heyday was 1992-1993.
FYI it is an honor to speak at any convention. let is it be republican or Democrat. Not anybody is asked to speak there. Yes there is no "I" in team but GABBY is THE GYMNASTIC QUEEN for the next four years. She deserves a spot light of her own despite the team winning Gold. The sooner we acknowledge it the better. Lets not hate but support these girls as they explore new territories.

I`d rather say they all wanna make the most of their success `cause it`s once in a lifetime when you become an Olympic champion. If reporters need to take separate pictures of Gabby the girls just pose as they are being asked to. It seems pure professional and nothing personal. Look at them: they`ve already learnt how to fake smilesand put on loads of heavy makeup. In business the ystill remai na team and can`t help it, so why not just make money, together or alone, doesn`t matter.

Gabby was better than Jordyn at the American Cup, she nearly beat her at Nationals, she beat Jordyn at Trials and she beat Jordny at the most important competition of all - the Olympics. Gabby hit her stride last year. Jordyn look labored and wasn't the same gymnast she was in 2011. Even when she hit at the Olympics Gabby still outscored her on every event (except on floor the first day when she stumbled). Gabby won the Olympics and deserved it. Jordyn didn't qualify to the AA. Get over it.

I watched it too. Several times. Gabby was the 1st person to hug Aly when she came off floor. If u want 2 check out some dirty looks, "I'm about myself" behavior, u need to watch Weiber. Check out how she looks @ Gabby while they are waiting to warm up on the vault. She cuts her eyes at her like she's a maggot. When they tied after night 1 at 2011 Visas, Weiber refused to even look at Gabby during the Andrea Joyce joint interview. Explain why Gabby is supposed to kiss these girls asses again?
