- Hi, I am Oliver. In this video is my daily life in Tokyo.
Snowfall in Tokyo is rare, occurring only once every few years. I was happy to see such a special scenery and went on a small adventure. And because of that, I got sick.
When I was sick, I wanted to drink potage soup, so I made turnip soup. It was very tasty. Potage soup with burdock and miso is also tasty and rich.
Being sick gave me a chance to make a new recipe. Even when life is not good, it can be a catalyst for new good things.

Corn potage for me please!!!! I have rice porridge (おかゆ) for when I'm sick. Very easy on the stomach!!! My husband has chicken soup (チキンスープ)

hello from a guy who also lives alone in Russia , having snow is a very common thing here in winter but i do enjoy a hot cup of tea in the comfort of my house when its snowing and freezing outside

Soup must be a universal cure for sickness. Chicken noodle soup is what we eat in the US when we're ill. It's very comforting.

I hate the snow too.
I was sick often in winter here in frozen siberia, but then I switched to carnivore diet, only eating any meat, fish, eggs, cheese.
It helped a lot!

I cook for myself every single day. Actually, I do make-up a pot of soup once a week, or if not soup, a stir fry. Then I eat those all through the week for my breakfast or lunch. Then I cook dinner every night except 1 night a week when I usually go out somewhere for a treat. I have not live a healthy life until around 2 years ago. I woke up and realized I have damaged my body. So I have been changing my habits.
That's a great habit.
I lived in central Tokyo about 14 years ago. It was the best time in my life. I have never had as many friends as in Japan. Never been as happy as I was then. Now, I'm back half around the earth in my country and I miss Japan every day. This video reminds me of how happiness is a choice. If I had a choice of switching with your location, I would do it. But now I'm just here alone sitting in front of my computer. There are many people out there, even half around the earth, feeling lonely. But I just want you to know that you are not alone, Oliver.

Been alone for years, I love it. No drama bs, silence + I'm being Left alone.
In Italy, my country, when we don't feel good we have "riso in bianco" which white rice with butter and parmesan cheese or "pastina in brodo" which means small pasta cooked in vegetable broth (many people love adding "formaggino" in it, which is cheese). Your videos are very calming and relaxing, I am sure that your followers' number will go up very soon. Thank you for keeping us company 😁

When I'm not feeling well, my mother makes chicken molo soup. Basically it's a chicken dumpling-filling wrapped in molo wrappers in a rich chicken broth served with lots of negi or chives as well as garlic! It never fails to make me feel better ✨

It is nice to see Tokyo. You take very artistic videos of the snow, making it look appealing. Your apartment is very new and modern. My apartment in the U.S. is old and beat up, yet still expensive. Your video also reminded me how nice it would be to have a good, sharp knife to cut vegetables. (My guilty secret is that I use a steak knife, and that makes me hate to chop things.) It is interesting to see what life is like in Japan. The soup I cook from scratch most often is tomato, but my favorite homemade soup is vegetable, beef, barley. In the U.S. we don't generally use the word pottage. It is antiquated. Very young people would not even know what the word meant. It reminds Christians (ex or practicing) of the biblical story where Esau sold his birthright for a mess of pottages. I'm glad I found your video.

Hi Oliver, I came across your channel by chance today and was pleasantly surprised, I really enjoyed your video, I'm from Scotland and its still pretty cold here so today I went grocery shopping and spent this afternoon batch baking soup for my freezer, I made Japaneses corn potage, carrot, corriander and red lentil, and chicken and rice soup. I eat soup every day and if im ill its easy to just heat up. Your video was really relaxing and enjoyable to watch, youve got another subscriberr, many blessings to you, stay well and happy. Potato Soup Recipe
6 pieces of bacon- cooked crispy
1/2 onion chopped
4 yellow potatoes-diced
1/4 cup flour
4 cups whole milk
1 cup chicken broth
1 clove garlic
Scallions to taste
3/4 cups sour cream
Directions:
Cook bacon to crispy
Keep about 2 tablespoons of bacon fat in pot
Add onion sauté it for 5 minutes. Stir in flour and cook for around 1 minute. Whisk in the milk slowly until the flour has dissolved.
Add chicken broth, garlic and potatoes. Turn temp to high and scrape bottom of pot. When the soup is Almost boiling, reduce the heat and cover pot. Simmer gently for 20 minutes.
Stir in the bacon, bits and sour cream.
Serve with grated cheddar cheese and scallions on top

No queremos equivocarnos, pero nuestra realidad humana hace q nos equivoquemos y eso no es un obstáculo para seguir creciendo como seres humanos...
