Look up Dead Rising Beta, thats what he was originally gonna look like. The artist behind the first game wanted to make the opposite of the usual handsome hero. They wanted a middle aged, regular, non handsome protagonist as opposed to having protagonists like Chris, and Leon who look like studs lol

The approval of Brads opening scene blows my mind, but this game will forever have a special place in my heart and honestly rooting for the best!
The silver lining is that it looks like they're using the original script, and the new VA's delivery of the lines is similar to TJ, so modders should have an easy time making a mod that imports the original voice files over to the new game, and use AI to fill in the rest

As much as they want to call it a "Remaster' it's just a 1to1 remake. Similar to the Crash, Spyro, Medieval and Shadow of Colassus remakes. It's simple actually, a remaster is a port... same game, new platform usually with some quality of life features, resolution face lift, and optimization. A Remake is a whole new game from the ground up, it can be 1to1, expanded 1to1, or an entirely new reimagining. This falls under 1to1, same mall, same basic layout and geometry but new assets, engine and physics. Hell, they even brought in new sounds and VAs, which is depressing compared to the original.
This is the same type of remaster as Saints Row 3 Remastered (and even the gta trilogy defective edition.) Its literally the same level of reworking. Just transferring over the game to a new engine and editing the assets, for better or worse.
So having multiple quality of life changes, adding more dialogue giving the game a better visual upgrade and making the game more appealing isn't enough
Franks new body rubs me the wrong way. His torso is so massive and his limbs look way too thin. Its like the attached 4 noodles to a brick. He looked way more grounded in the og game

Yeah the censorship of the game is a problem in its own right but why is nobody talking about how the game is so easy that you could beat all of the psychopaths in the game first run and take no damage because the game is just too easy now.
They also made the survivors way better also, but didn't make the zombies AI better to compensate so now the game is even easier than it was before In normal gameplay as well! This is the part that actually made Dead Rising what it was imagine if they released a Dark Souls game but you had a thousand Health points and you killed everything in one hit? Would it still be dark souls? Would it still be fun?
Where's criticism from actual fans of the original who hate to see the Gameplay get gutted. Like isn't a little bit of censorship a small time issue compared to actually Ruining the difficulty and therefore design and feel of the game???

Then challenge if the first game wasn’t about the psychos it was the survivors the second game is when they genuinely become menaces (although the courtyard prisoners have something to say)
