We dove into an old favorite this weekend and had ourselves a long overdue Borderlands Date Night. We used to play this game together all the time back in college, but I was hoping this revisit would show for how much I've improved at games since then. As it turns out I'm not as good as I thought.

Wow, that's exactly how i started playing with my wife : Lilith and Roland. She took all the loot, i took the quests (so that we dont end up underleveled). The first game i made her play after she wanted to join in my passion, we often go back to it for a short ride too

Borderlands 2 is actually one of the best games ever
@[Insert name here] Honestly, BL3 has decent gameplay and weapon variety, and also the abilities are cool.
The main thing that sucks are, well, story, characters and dialogue.
BL and BL2 are far superior in those aspects.
There is a lack of Brick, however.
Borderlands. The game that got me into looter-shooters and created a never ending road of finding the next looter-shooter/slasher to sink my time into.
Amazing as always! In the spirit of loot filled shooters, Risk of rain 2 will both feed and punish you for said looting instincts, let me explain - The game's core gameplay loop is infinitely respawning enemies that give money that you spend on chests, robot companions, turrets, ect scattered around the map. So you would want to constantly kill enemies and then grab all the different items with the gold they drop. The catch - there is a timer which progressively scales the enemies the longer you play, so going around and trying to grab all the loot chests around a map means facing much harder enemies on future maps. Its a very interesting balance, especially in co-op with multiple people running around.
Risk of Rain 2 is an all-time fav!! :)
@@BoyMetGirl Crap, it finally happened, I derped and didnt remember that you already covered RoR 2, opsie xD. For a slightly different recommendation in terms of gameplay but keeping a vibrant and looty shooty style : Dungeon defenders 2. Have you ever wanted to be able to go and smack the bloons in BTD6 yourself whilst having your towers shoot? This game lets you do that, although not on bloons. Its a 3rd person class based half shooter half tower defence game, you'll be setting up your defences, and then run around helping them defend attack waves and picking up loot.
OMG! Me and my gf just picked up borderlands 3 ourselves the other day and started our own coop journey together!!! Your channel helped bring her and I together better than I could have ever. Thanks boy meets girl!

Oh HECK yeah! This game is a classic "Focus on fun first" type of deal. Plenty of fond memories -killstealing- fending off enemies with friends.
Love your guys' dynamic here. Repeatedly dying and getting revived to land a few pot-shots is an age-old classic.

Another one of the Greats! I've always been a sniper guy myself. The animations in this game are so visceral! On the topic of shotguns, I recall finishing skagzilla with Sledge's shotgun once and launching it into the stratosphere! Spent a while trying to replicate that, but never could.

My wife and I did the same thing. I was Roland and she was Lilith. I was usually in my skill tree trying to calculate the best choices while she'd get bored and go off. Lilith's ability to phasewalk was life-saving for her when she got over her head. As for driving and shooting... well, I have much better aim, so I was usually the gunner and she loved driving since the game used mouse-steering.
To be fair, it doesn't matter who picks up ammo. Whatever Boy picks up, Girl gets as well.
I bought borderlands not knowing what it was and on that same day me and my cousin played it for 12 hours straight only taking breaks to use the bathroom and get snacks. Best game series ever(excluding 3)

funny thing me and my girlfriends played borderlands as Roland and Lilith. we are currently on the pre sequel
Every duo that plays this game has a loot goblin.
I stil remember having to force my dad to sell all the shitty weapons he had been hoarding at gun point after realising why I always had to go after him picking up guns he couldnt take.
Needing at most 4 guns was an alien concept to him, he insisted on keeping one gun of each type for each element, even if he never used them.
I insisted I would throw him off Sanctuary if I ever had to pick another gun for him.
Did you play this game just for the "Pandora's Box" pun? Because, if so...I applaud you.

BL2 is my favorite, overall. BL3 has the best gunplay, but the story is pretty dumb. I’m loving Wonderlands, the action can get pretty frenetic with 2 people.
I have an idea for a Made My Girlfriend Play... video. All Hallows Eve is upon us and with a certain remake on the horizon and scheduled to come out next year, I thought, "Why not play a horror game that really goes hard: Dead Space."
Hey, I don't know how would you do the video format but it could be fun to do a pokemon soullink where if one of you lose s pokemon the other person has to free the one that's connected, maybe you should try it just for fun

I recommend Rayman legends it is a great multiplayer game which involves a lot of teamwork to over come many challenging puzzles. I hope you read this. (You guys can play together)

If you end up playing Borderlands 3, Tarny should most def pick Moze. Infinite ammo, explosive shot, and a robot companion. While Nick should go for Zane, the min/maxers wet dream

I thought the game was ass due to the endgame balancing and story choices, but a lot of people don't care about those things and just want to shoot stuff.
@@jonahbrown5669 ? B2 is loved, for it has Jack and his amazing character. B3 has one of shittiest plots I've ever seen. The plot is not the only problem there. They failed to make whole series of borderlands great

The Borderlands games don't really do much for me; I always found the premise of being a treasure hunter on a planet named Pandora too predictable for disappointment. The humour isn't that funny to me, and enemy variety doesn't do much for me. I feel the best Borderlands game I've played was Telltale Games' Tales From The Borderlands; that game good at handling the humour, as it was hilarious.
