That little Solis says 50hp on the bonnet but at the shaft it will be circa 42 or 43hp so hard work for it stirring slurry. Yrs ago we had a pto powered slurry pump/ stirrer which usually was powered by an IH 574 which was fine but if the store had formed a thick crust which took a lot of breaking up then the 574 was on its knees at times until it had become more liquid. Few times I put an IH 885 on the pump which was really on top of the job. So I can see why the Solis is a bit under powered on the pto.
Great Video Charlotte and yes an hour Video would be grat let alone a half hour!! More the better 😊. We are still covered in snow here i hope yours is melting 🤞 its just all the mess isn't it mud mud mud. Hope the calf is getting there but you can only do your best and you do every time 😊. Happy new year lets hope its a good one!! Take care 💜
hey all❤ , on the auger damage, we saw that many times before on the pig feed augers, if the worm inside was cut to large or small it can wear on the inside of the worm pipe! and any off cuts arnt worth worrying over as joining it with another dosnr last and welding it to more lengh is not good as it isnt 100% straight! we used to keep measurements of all the worm augers then only order the required lengh
That solas is a slurry good tractor, good job you had another tractor just in CASE A great MIXER of content again, should PROPELLER your video forward Really do enjoy your videos, your commitment to the farm, the stock and sharing the ups and downs with us all Great to see Roy warming towards the camera Keep them coming Charlotte Back UK Farmer's 🇬🇧 Geoff
Get some plastic from old bucket. Then get tin of plastic weld as used for plumbing and after coating plastic patch secure with gaffer tape and give time to set. Should set you up for a while. Local diy should have plastic weld in small pot.
Looking at the auger, it looks like it has a kink or bend in it. With the way they are made, it won't straighten out. In my experience, cutting and welding a new bit in, isn't a good idea as the weld will wear the tube. If you do weld a new bit in either double skin it or use a thick walled pressure pipe. Watch your fingers 😃
Hi, I have two dumb questions after your lovely video. Could you put collars on the heifers before calving so that it alerted you when they started? And second question as I've had a dumb calf before and literally had to teach it to drink every day but did get it to weight eventually. Have you tried the Madigan squeeze to see if it helps? I would try it if I had another one.
Hi lady that a great job with your cow's calfing the Best of luck with them 20 left to calf and your looking so beautiful yourself girl and with is the name of that green jacket you have on you in the video lady please send name the of it to me l what to get one ❤❤❤❤❤❤xx
Ah give the little calf a chance, you will lose enough of them without shooting them ! My sons reckon I’m softer on the cattle than I ever was on them but some of them were very sick from time to time and I didn’t shoot any of them either so that argument doesn’t hold water now does it. Does Roy get showered in shit every time he goes near it or do you just make it seem that way in the videos? Regards from Ireland
To add subscribers you should use # hash tags in front of your Thumbnails and descriptions then when people do a search then your site will show up. Example. # automatic milking machines # Jersey cows #Solis tractor, etc....
lol Ronald that’s really kind but it’s not how it works now the algorithm is so advanced your videos are transcribed and sent to the right people without you even having to do that and also there is a section when uploading to add hashtags in which isn’t visible to the viewer so they are there you just can’t see them x
I can remember when 50 horsepower was considered a big tractor back in the 60s
Me too 😁
Hi Charlotte, you have a heart of gold. 💛
I do! I do want a half-hour video from you. You are one of the most engaging people on youtube.
It took us 3 days to mix our slurry store last year. Love your videos keep it up

Could watch you all day great video's 👍
If you cut an old wellie around it with a bit of bale tape. It will get you out of trouble until you get it replaced.
Try digest it slurry additive works brilliant

Great video Charlotte, poor Roy in the poo again. Well as the saying goes "Sh*t" happens.🤣.
Add some BAM to the slurry, it will break down the solids and improve the consistency.
Charlotte we have 2foot of snow here in cork Ireland. Pure disaster
What kind of medal do i get 🤔 always watch to end 😂
That slurry looks really thick maybe you need a tank mixer like ifarmwefarm has
Hope for good news on the calf

No I have heard of this before but never tried it but a lot of people who know how swear by it

There's no way you could shoot that calf with the compaction you have for your animals
50 hp should do it
Give poorly calf some probiotics, Precision Microbes is designed for calves but I think natural yougart made from cows milk should do the job.
Maybe its depressed as its Mums not there😢
