My wife is a U.S. citizen now. She came here legally as an au pair. Then got a student visa to study for a masters. We’ve been going through USCIS for 9 years to get her citizenship. Interviews, biometrics, all types of documentation, and yes - money.

An illegal from Venezuela killed my baby cousin last week in a car crash. He did not have a license, insurance and should not be driving. He cut her off causing her to lose control. She was only 19!
I am so sorry. My deepest condolences. Two very good friends of mine was killed as pedestrian by impaired driver. One was alcohol one was driving without corrective lenses. My friends had everything going for them huge loss. Both drivers were tried for vehicular manslaughter. One does talks at high schools in dangers of driving under influence.

I live in her parents area, and our whole town is gathering together to support them. We are trying to get meal trains set up..and we have been putting red and black bows on businesses and our homes in her honor/memory. Her family is asking for privacy, which our town is trying to respect, but we are still trying to think of ways to support them. So sad and so very tragic. I pray God is holding her family tight.
It's very very tough I imagine but I can understand their wishes.
