This light has been working well for me. I just made a video showing the growth I'm getting using it on an IM Nuvo Fusion 20 Nano Tank. I throw out a cup of chaeto every 3-4 weeks.

Most algae live at the top surface of the water, where wave crash onto rocks, causing air/water interface turbulence which increases nutrient transfer. This location gets the most red light, and thus algae is different from trees/grass etc because deeper in the water loses the red. Even at 1 meter depth, you lose most red light, and get only blue light. So the best performing/filtering algae is at the turbulent surface with just red light.

You recommend install horizontally? I am afraid of it heating up my tank to much!

@@innovativemarine How much can I expect it to lower nitrate's on a nuvo 20 with 25 nitrates? Does it up ph levels? Which way do you recommend mounting and does it effect temperature of tank. My strip light heats my nuvo20 to 83! Thinking of adding a fan with temp control id I can find one!

Does anyone have input on if I put this in the back chamber of my 60gallon corner flow and use it as a refugium as I have no space in the sump

Can you run this light 24 hours a day or is a 12 hour cycle recommended?

I placed mine directly on the back of my nano tank using the Velcro like shown but my only concern is the light heats up quite a bit being placed that close to the glass is this something I should be concerned about or common?

WOW! Thats sucks big time rules it out for me! Unless maybe a timer and a fan. My tanks already runs at 83 degress! i have a strip light very close to the surface! I have some other lights I can switch but they are fluval 220s but also close to surface because my tank is right below kitchen cabinets so lack of space!

Make a cheaper & weaker one that is submersible so we don’t have to cut the back of our IM tanks please
