I would enjoy a review of the bag! I love and want to encourage reviews of things you have owned for a longer while, how something wears over time and how durable and longlasting it is is a very important aspect of things in my opinion. It is also interesting to hear how your feelings about a thing may have shifted as it has been in your life and become part of your memories.
Re: canvas book totes; I like to keep my favourite one, and as others come into my life, I stuff them with the things I'm decluttering/donating so that the bag itself becomes a donation🕊
That Polene bag... I have been lusting and lusting over it ever since the brand launched, but I can never seem to part with this much money on myself and on something I desperatly want but don't really need 🙈 But, I have two amazing recommandations for you , Hannah, as far as professional looking gorgeous and streamlined leather totes. Both brands I found on Etsy, both are small indie companies run by talented woman : Vermut Atelier is out of Spain (I gifted myself a leather tote two years ago and it looks ever better know, the quality is so high, the bag is so well crafted, it's a piece that I will not only wear for years, decades to come but that will look better and better as it ages, and I paid around 120€ for it, total steal); the other one is Keep An Eye Leather out of Lithuania, she makes the most gorgeous, sturdiest leather backpacks, crossbody, totes (I have a grained leather bucket bag that's to die for). Hope you check them out, they are so worth it ! Now, I'll go to bed dreaming of the Polene bag, that I wish to one day have in the black or bordeaux with the crocodile effect flap 😍
I own approximately as many bags as you. The one I reach for the most is a medium sized Longchamp tote in burgundy. Nothing fancy at all. Funnily enough, this colour goes with everything. I have found medium sized bags to be the most versatile. Therefore, I like your Polene bag the most.

I have 6 bags total. I have a backpack, purse, small Kavu canvas bag, laptop/book bag, overnight tote, and duffel bag. I love having one for every purpose. It’s just enough for the more minimal lifestyle I live as a college student.
Not at all surprised by the rusty bent of your bag collection. As a fellow red head I also tend to gravitate towards bags and shoes that range from oxblood to camel. I think it's because the reddish tones play off of the hair color so that you always look well coordinated no matter what else you are wearing. ❤️❤️❤️ P.s. All your bags are lovely, the bucket bag and the one from your sister are especially beautiful. Also, I always hear academics talking about their mass pile of totes from events. All I can say is that as an academic with a doctoral degree, masters and honours degree I must be attending the wrong conferences! Since beginning the conference circuit in 2013 I've only ever received ONE tote bag. However, it also contained a tiny bar of chocolate and a pen, so it was obviously the best conference pack ever!
I know I have way too many cheap swag totes, but i like to keep them to collect items to be donated, or lent out with no worries if the bag comes back to me or not.

I love how architectural the bags you've kept are. I think if I were to add to the collection, I'd add something opposite to what is there so it could be as unique an addition as possible.. Maybe not black, but some interesting cool-toned color, more rigid in its lines, and probably in between the slouchy orange and the silver bag. Or, something completely ostentatious in appearance, yet with function to make you keep going back to it.

But that olive bag makes me feel like i might buy a bag like that in the future, for when i want to look bougie and more formal. I wonder what i'll settle on. I love the Polene and especially the new, smaller version of this style that they released recently. I have far too many bags and despite clearing some out about a year ago I was not honest in what I actually use (10% of them) and that my style has chaged from many of the ones I have stored.
Would love to see a few more details of that orange backpack. I've been looking for one for commuting/work for over a year now. But I have too much specific criteria at this point! Considering trying to find someone on Etsy etc to make one custom since the good, nice, leather ones are so expensive anyway.

My trully usable bags are a brown saddle bag by zara (and on the hunt for something similar but in higher quality one), a small backpack by jansport (which is my daily bag) and a little purse/belt bag by fossil given by my aunt. I love the design of the poleme bag but I'm not sure if I can accuire it here in Indonesia (might needs to look how much is the taxes and fee that come along and start savings!)
I have three larger tote style bags (one Vera Bradley that I’ve had since high school and is literally falling apart and two that were free gifts from ulta), which I use for carrying to events and the theatre. I also have a small canvas tote that was my daily purse bag for almost two years, until a coworker gifted me a late spade bag that she was getting rid of. And 1 charcoal grey metallic that i *adore*. I feel like i want to add a cherry red one, but im not quite sure how often i would wear it. In my collection I have 5 bags: a small black leather backpack that is 28 years old (my mother bought it when I was born), a smaller black leather bag (kind of editorial), a big black bag very similar to your Zara one, a big straw bag which I use only in summer (and the rest of the year I use it to store magazines and stationery), and a tote I use for groceries or to carry research papers (which I got at a conference). I too am looking into acquiring a more editorial bag.. excited to see which one you will end up getting :)

I'm down to just three - an Oregon Country Fair one with a long strap, one from an indie band I loved as a youth (Mates of State), and a Bitch Magazine tote with a uterus on it that I got at Wordstock in PDX back in my indie press internship days. I really need to give them all a good wash, they're so well-loved and grungy that I never want to take them out anymore! My everyday bag is actually a magenta Osprey hiking backpack - I bike to work and it's the only practical way to carry my wallet, work things, packed lunch, etc. On weekends I carry a beautiful, very basic brown leather barrel handbag by TheLeatherStore on Etsy, or just my big bifold wallet which has a wrist strap. And that's it! I'd like to get a shopper tote at some point - our city has a plastic bag ban and some days it'd be easier to just have a big purse than try to remember to bring our reusable bags.
I have a silver Kate Spade bag - the silver has rubbed off the straps and parts of the body. It has been near impossible to shade match leather dye or polish. Maybe rethink decluttering the black hair on hide purse for a small option
I counted my bags when I recorded a video about them (in Polish, so it’s not an advertisement 👍). I have 19, but I’m ready to resell 2-4 of them. I usually buy polish brand which have good prices and excellent quality. My favorite is Przywara-Strzalka which is also on Etsy under the name: LessMoreBag I love it 🥰
I think your bag collection seems great and very you at the moment! My collection consists of 7 bags, 2 backpacks and a number of book totes that my family all share. I am not really satisfied with my collection, there are too many bags and not all of them are perfect. Ideally I would have 4 bags and one backpack, but I am not ready to get rid of any. I hate my backpacks and rarely use them, but I dont care enough to buy a replacement. My handbags are all cute, but I only use one or two. Though one is my old main bag which I should probably get rid of since it has not been touched for two years, and one is a new one which I intend to use when my current main bag is worn out. Now I actually feel inspired to do a careful consideration of my bag collection!
I love the Polene Paris bags they're so beautiful. For me, I would need at least one neutral colour! But I also am drawn to orange bags.. they're so amazing.
I sold my only “nice” bag because it was too small. Now I have grocery totes, my work backpack, and my mom’s purse from the late 80/ early 90’s. It suits me perfectly.

I find it interesting that you wear things with the long strap on your shoulder with the bags hanging very low, on your hip/thigh. I could never wear a bag like that, especially not in public transport, which is why I never have any use for straps like that! I should try that again some time, but it’s just so dangly.
I have this aquamarine tassel-y crossbody purse that is SO CUTE and I've never used it, ever! It doesn't seem to fit with my outfits. Maybe I should sell it and grieve a little over my fantasy self that has all sorts of occasions to wear it.... :\
Eclectic bags really suit you. You could get an outrageous bag like one shaped like a piece of fruit or something. I saw one.. who makes it , Gucci? It’s structured with a bamboo handle and a crystal bee or dragonfly on the front. I’m also kind of partial to the small bags that look like a little trunk or lock box. They’re hard sided . Though I feel too old to pull it off at this age .
You have, once again, inspired me. I have never been a handbag collector, and there have been many times in my life when I've only had one handbag. But as I watched this video, I realized that I have accumulated way too many bags. I have several that I no longer enjoy, and their clutter is keeping me from reaching for beautiful bags that I love but forget I even have. Time for a handbag declutter. Polene just came out with a smaller version of the Number One bag they call Numbre One Nano. I just bought the regular size like your's but in a different colour. They really are beautiful bags.
I have two bags, an everyday canvas tote, and a backpack for laptop-moving days. I haven’t had a traditional handbag in a while, though my style over the past 2 years has gone distinctly casual, much more than it was when I was carrying the traditional leather handbag. I love that you ended up with such a burnt color story!
Hmmm, 24 bags. All designer... 😳 😬 My all purpose tote is a fantastic gift with purchase I got from Nars. I would add a croc flap bag in an earthy/neutral tone (maybe caramel, army green or brown) to your collection, something similar to a Dior Montaigne or a Celine Box bag (obviously you don't have to go with those, I was just thinking about the shape)... Maybe vintage.
I have been considering a Polene bag as a new every day bag since my current one is ready for a rest so here's another vote for an in-depth review. They look stunning but I'd love to know what fits inside, how well it has held up and is it fiddly to use in every day life.

I'm not all that interested in handbags. I have a cheap zipper pouch from Target that I carry my cash, id and cards in and a Longchamps tote that I replace with a different color every five years or so when it gets worn out. I really liked watching you talk about all your bags though. If phone books still existed, I'd probably sit and watch you read one.
Hannah, have you checked out Mlouye? They make distinctive bags in strange shapes, but not so strange that they’re not functional. They’re also “affordable” in that they’re generally >500. I’m also loving Yuzefi right now, though they are a little spendier.
I think you could do a full review of all of your bags that you are keeping in one video, so there's something for everyone (the Polene bag is beautiful though, and I don't normally like that color). That green vegan leather bag actually looked amazing with your outfit, but I agree that if it had two slightly smaller plastic handles, it would be much better functionally, and maybe still have the same look. That navy croc bag is amazing, too, and I'd be interested in a full review on it. I think the backpacks unfortunately look similar to your other bags in color, so that's a tough choice, but the orange back is nicer. I do approve of multiple canvas book totes as reusable grocery bags (other plastic bags (unless they're made of recycled plastic) tend not to hold up well). I don't think your collection 'needs' another bag, but maybe something cool toned and a hobo style would add variety and still be very chic!
Hmm. I think I have seven bags. I have a red and black céline nano. And a satchel style fossil. A mid size hobo guess bag. A XL robins egg blue vegan leather bag I’ve never used but love. Then I have a cheap fake couch bag I got in NY. It reminds me of that trip with my mom. I also got a Christian Dior mirror quality patent leather miss Dior: love it but never used it. Wish I could sell it. I just feel like it looks too small for my silhouette. And a tapestry bag I’ve again never used and was a gift. I think I’ll donate that soon. Lastly I got a small quilted handbag (Vera Bradley?) from Poshmark. Edit I also have a black LeSac bag , leather. It’s in my trunk full of old stuff . I do like it, but it serves the same function as the Fossil I’m Currently using. I should really get rid of one The only hole in my collection practically speaking is I’m missing a sm- med size slim bag that can work crossbody and has adjustable strap, something that’s nice and light but secure, I always use those types for travel and day trips.. I used to have a roots one that I donated and replaced with a little black Gucci, which I gave away to someone who liked it more than me. But it leaves me with a gap. The quilted bag is the right size but has no shoulder strap. Mehhh. I think I will pass along the tapestry one and the “coach” one. Tapestry one still has tags and matching wallet so good for a donation. As far as you I don’t really think anything is “missing”, however I consider 2 gaps. One would be a neutral black bag (like the one you’re purging). Sometimes a girl just needs a black bag lol. And the second one would probably be a bag similar in function to the silver bag but slightly bigger, and could work crossbody. Something just big enough for a phone, keys, full size wallet, and small snack.

I own two of their purses and love them! I have a silver Kate Spade bag - the silver has rubbed off the straps and parts of the body. It has been near impossible to shade match leather dye or polish. Maybe rethink decluttering the black hair on hide purse for a small option

I counted my bags when I recorded a video about them (in Polish, so it’s not an advertisement 👍). I have 19, but I’m ready to resell 2-4 of them. I usually buy polish brand which have good prices and excellent quality. My favorite is Przywara-Strzalka which is also on Etsy under the name: LessMoreBag I love it 🥰

My collection consists of 7 bags, 2 backpacks and a number of book totes that my family all share. I am not really satisfied with my collection, there are too many bags and not all of them are perfect. Ideally I would have 4 bags and one backpack, but I am not ready to get rid of any. I hate my backpacks and rarely use them, but I dont care enough to buy a replacement. My handbags are all cute, but I only use one or two. Though one is my old main bag which I should probably get rid of since it has not been touched for two years, and one is a new one which I intend to use when my current main bag is worn out. Now I actually feel inspired to do a careful consideration of my bag collection!

I love the Polene Paris bags they're so beautiful. For me, I would need at least one neutral colour! But I also am drawn to orange bags.. they're so amazing.

I sold my only “nice” bag because it was too small. Now I have grocery totes, my work backpack, and my mom’s purse from the late 80/ early 90’s. It suits me perfectly.
I vote yes to a video about the Polene bag. I would love to see how it's wearing. It's looks lovely from here. :) I'm shocked a bit that you decluttered that green bag (Miele Bianco, I think). That looked like a you bag. I get your reasoning though. That newly won silver bag is super cute, more functional & will fill that space just fine. I need to do this to my bag collection. I don't even have really nice handbags. Most are from TJMaxx, but the collection is too big.
I find it interesting that you wear things with the long strap on your shoulder with the bags hanging very low, on your hip/thigh. I could never wear a bag like that, especially not in public transport, which is why I never have any use for straps like that! I should try that again some time, but it’s just so dangly.
I have this aquamarine tassel-y crossbody purse that is SO CUTE and I've never used it, ever! It doesn't seem to fit with my outfits. Maybe I should sell it and grieve a little over my fantasy self that has all sorts of occasions to wear it.... :\
Eclectic bags really suit you. You could get an outrageous bag like one shaped like a piece of fruit or something. I saw one.. who makes it , Gucci? It’s structured with a bamboo handle and a crystal bee or dragonfly on the front. I’m also kind of partial to the small bags that look like a little trunk or lock box. They’re hard sided . Though I feel too old to pull it off at this age .

You have, once again, inspired me. I have never been a handbag collector, and there have been many times in my life when I've only had one handbag. But as I watched this video, I realized that I have accumulated way too many bags. I have several that I no longer enjoy, and their clutter is keeping me from reaching for beautiful bags that I love but forget I even have. Time for a handbag declutter. Polene just came out with a smaller version of the Number One bag they call Numbre One Nano. I just bought the regular size like your's but in a different colour. They really are beautiful bags.

I have two bags, an everyday canvas tote, and a backpack for laptop-moving days. I haven’t had a traditional handbag in a while, though my style over the past 2 years has gone distinctly casual, much more than it was when I was carrying the traditional leather handbag.

My all purpose tote is a fantastic gift with purchase I got from Nars.
I would add a croc flap bag in an earthy/neutral tone (maybe caramel, army green or brown) to your collection, something similar to a Dior Montaigne or a Celine Box bag (obviously you don't have to go with those, I was just thinking about the shape)... Maybe vintage.
I have been considering a Polene bag as a new every day bag since my current one is ready for a rest so here's another vote for an in-depth review. They look stunning but I'd love to know what fits inside, how well it has held up and is it fiddly to use in every day life.

I realized recently that all of my shoes are either brown, black, or red! I just love a pop of red for a bag or shoe.

I'm not all that interested in handbags. I have a cheap zipper pouch from Target that I carry my cash, id and cards in and a Longchamps tote that I replace with a different color every five years or so when it gets worn out. I really liked watching you talk about all your bags though. If phone books still existed, I'd probably sit and watch you read one.

Hannah, have you checked out Mlouye? They make distinctive bags in strange shapes, but not so strange that they’re not functional. They’re also “affordable” in that they’re generally >500. I’m also loving Yuzefi right now, though they are a little spendier.

I think you could do a full review of all of your bags that you are keeping in one video, so there's something for everyone (the Polene bag is beautiful though, and I don't normally like that color). That green vegan leather bag actually looked amazing with your outfit, but I agree that if it had two slightly smaller plastic handles, it would be much better functionally, and maybe still have the same look. That navy croc bag is amazing, too, and I'd be interested in a full review on it. I think the backpacks unfortunately look similar to your other bags in color, so that's a tough choice, but the orange back is nicer. I do approve of multiple canvas book totes as reusable grocery bags (other plastic bags (unless they're made of recycled plastic) tend not to hold up well). I don't think your collection 'needs' another bag, but maybe something cool toned and a hobo style would add variety and still be very chic!

Hmm. I think I have seven bags. I have a red and black céline nano. And a satchel style fossil. A mid size hobo guess bag. A XL robins egg blue vegan leather bag I’ve never used but love. Then I have a cheap fake couch bag I got in NY. It reminds me of that trip with my mom. I also got a Christian Dior mirror quality patent leather miss Dior: love it but never used it. Wish I could sell it. I just feel like it looks too small for my silhouette.
And a tapestry bag I’ve again never used and was a gift. I think I’ll donate that soon. Lastly I got a small quilted handbag (Vera Bradley?) from Poshmark. Edit I also have a black LeSac bag , leather. It’s in my trunk full of old stuff . I do like it, but it serves the same function as the Fossil I’m

The only hole in my collection practically speaking is I’m missing a sm- med size slim bag that can work crossbody and has adjustable strap, something that’s nice and light but secure, I always use those types for travel and day trips.. I used to have a roots one that I donated and replaced with a little black Gucci, which I gave away to someone who liked it more than me. But it leaves me with a gap. The quilted bag is the right size but has no shoulder strap. Mehhh. I think I will pass along the tapestry one and the “coach” one. Tapestry one still has tags and matching wallet so good for a donation.
As far as you I don’t really think anything is “missing”, however I consider 2 gaps. One would be a neutral black bag (like the one you’re purging). Sometimes a girl just needs a black bag lol. And the second one would probably be a bag similar in function to the silver bag but slightly bigger, and could work crossbody. Something just big enough for a phone, keys, full size wallet, and small snack.
I love the Céline nano! Great bag!!! I think if I'm ever in a position to consider a designer bag I'll go straight to Céline, lol
