Off The Shelf | Mr Henry Box Brown

For the first in our new series of 'Off The Shelf' talks, join Archivist Sarah Davis as she shines a light on the entertainments bill for Shrewsbury Music Hall featuring Henry ‘Box’ Brown.
Henry was born into slavery but posted himself to the free state of Pennsylvania in 1849. He subsequently toured America and later England, including visiting Shrewsbury, to re-enact his story.
