i like how on this album of punk rock puppets and comedy rock, there's a song about how it's hell to drive on a very specific expressway in Buffalo, NY
Cheers for pointing that out. Just looked up the song meaning due to your comment.. Brilliant concept. Now i think they're even more amazing. Well done :)
For a band that didnt take themselves seriously at all Green "Jelly" made some kick ass songs, Flight of the Skajaquada as example #1. This song kicks ass.
Amen to crappy experience of driving on the Skajaquada in winter - of course it was a shitty road all four seasons. But, had to get from Cassidy's to Squeezer Floyds somehow. These guys were always great, a lot of fun, but great musicians too. I'm living in DC now, and still miss the Elmwood strip.
As a kid I had 333 and Cereal Killer Soundtrack but I never actually saw any of the videos except 3 Little Pigs until recently. This video had me laughing to tears! Great band! Excellent music! Green Jello SUCKS!
You know.. This band is really weird, but here's the thing.. They are fascinating to me, and I really like their music.. I don't think I have ever heard another band like them.. it's just.. just freaking hardcore fucking punk thrashing badass awesome, and even though I don't know why.. I fucking love every second of the songs of theirs I have heard.. WTF is up with that.. Their videos are weird and trippy too.. I feel like I am on an acid trip or something.. or maybe they were.. who knows..
Is anyone in the comments from Buffalo, and have you tried to drive on the Skajaquada in winter? I'll never forget being 18 and trying to traverse this a-hole of a road while listening to this song and attempting to traverse this a-hole of a road.
getting on and off the skajak to the i 90 north bound in the winter has literally killed some people ive seen the barriers knocked over and even a car that fell off once, we all drive it though.
I always loved this song, but being from the south had no idea what it was referring to or about. Once I learned that, it just doubled how awesome it is. Such a killer riff.
@@deamongaming4206 navigating a treacherous expressway in the dead of winter specifically in buffalo NY where the band originated, ive seen the skajaquada kill people.
yep! Grew up in Tonawanda, moved to Bird ave for a few yrs then moved back to Ton. now I live outside of Cleveland in Northfield Ohio. believe it or not I miss Buffalo n the fishing more than anything!- Greg
For the longest time I thought this song was about a bloodthirsty Yeti or some other evil blizzard monster. The comments inform otherwise. Even sillier knowing what this really is.
When clouds of iron gather nigh, blackening the winter sky, Storms gather fury from the lake, best hurry home and refuge take, For soon the worst will come to pass, and ice will turn your routes to glass, While in the north the beast awakens, from his year long slumber taken, His howl the fury of the gales, with deadly curves that rarely fail, To send your autos into flight, through blizzard's curtain blinding white, See driving skills you lack with the, FLIGHT OF THE SKAJAQUADA
Well, this isn't an official channel as far as I know, and it's the old Green Jello videos, hence the name. Now, if they re-released the show on DVD or Blu-Ray, they'd have to call it Green Jelly (if they even could release it at all officially)
I had the cassette version of this when I was four and all I ever remembered were the poop jokes and three pigs on the cover. But finally after twenty two years I've found you again Green Jello ;P and you SUCK! But seriously what inspired this song?
There's a thruway in buffalo called the skajaquada, it has a really sharp turn on the on-ramp and every winter lots of people slide off the road or hit the rail :D
rt 198 in Buffalo. an elevated expressway with a 50 mph speed limit that has 2 narrow lanes with concrete barriers on either side, it freezes quickly, has sharp turns on the off/on ramps

Which I did not know until I moved to Buffalo, though I'd heard the song years before. :)
Cheers for pointing that out.

the band was formed in Buffalo in the 80's.

They will always be Green Jello to me. Still got my CD befor they got pulled fuck Kraft foods....
How many people can make a song about something obscure like black ice and make it kick this much butt?
Amen to crappy experience of driving on the Skajaquada in winter - of course it was a shitty road all four seasons. But, had to get from Cassidy's to Squeezer Floyds somehow.

Here in good ol' Minot, ND, and I can not love this song enough during our winters.

As a survivor of the Chicago winters....I can relate to this song. The Roads are like driving on glass.
The video quality and style screams GWAR.

This would have been one of my favorites on a Guitar Hero Green Jellö or a Green Jellö Rock Band video game had there been one like I wished.
Happy Holidays, and hope that the Sakjaquada doesn't catch you! ⛄❄🎄

And as always, Williamsville schools were not closed, typical.
Epic shit
Now the highway in buffalo that this song is named after has had it's speed limit dropped to 30mph. The scajaquada has been neutered.
Green Jello Sux!!!
this was better than the last Jedi
These videos almost remind me of old troma movies. Surprised green jello never had any parts songs or cameos in any troma movies
Not their best music video, but arguably their best song. It helps if you actually come from a state where heavy snow falls are a problem!
im an old fan of these guys theve some great songs look up gwar and radio active chicken heads lols
Typical Buffalo winter summed up in a song.
NY Route 198. Take Exit 50 off I-190 South.

You're not the only one man.
It's got a real 'jabberwocky' feel to it.

so THAAAAT's where Neil Peart gots the Idea for By-Ter and teh Snowdawg.
...makes so much sense when you see it in retrospect.
Haha I think maybe the opposite but I'm not sure of the timeline. But I thought of that song as well
Metal church meets Iron Maiden with hilarious lyrics
It's about 'time to grab your magic shovel", also grab c.j. buscaglia's new album to be released soon and available exclusively on itunes.
Who's here for the Blizzard of 2024? 😂
As silly as they were, Green Jello had some serious rifts
Think about this every time I roll through buffalo
