    Great race. Sorry you didn't come away with the dub - was super tense watching the 4th leg get kicked down.

    I agree with the switch. FoggDogg doesnt have the Basten kick, so trying to win it in the 3rd leg made sense. still congrats to bronze.

    “3rd leg” *chuckes* ; “3rd banana , the night is young…”. No idea what double entendres you’re referring to 😂
    Well done, great outcome. Hopefully see you in the solo mens race next time 👍

    Congratulations Foggy 🥉. The mixed relay was really exciting, I thought at the last handover the gap was going to be big enough. Do you have the individual leg times, or know where they might be posted?

      @@AlexM-hm2wb thanks Alex, so it looks on the face of it the final leg was the differential, such a shame. She looked a bit stressed/tired with the burden of responsibility.

    Great fun to watch! Strategical error to put a woman on last leg? The mental pressure of knowing that you would be closed down by the faster men (even Faith Kipyegon would have been closed down!) must have been enormous. No criticism of the athlete involved, the men on the last leg must have got an incredible adrenaline boost when they saw how rapidly they were closing. Still, your first GB vest is a special moment, great credit to the way you have kept on grafting over various setbacks.

      have to disagree with the Faith Kipyegon comparison, she is way faster and could easily have coped with being chased, i felt for our runner because her times on 1500/mile are as good as the other GB athlete but on the day much slower, so i am assuming it did get to her mentally, but that can happen to any athlete male/female on any given day, the Dutch guy tipped to win pipped on home straight,

    • @markbateman9222
      @markbateman9222 10 месяцев назад

      I was trying to say that ANY female athlete on the last leg would have lost SOME ground to the chasing male runners if the men were international class. Not saying that Kipyegon wouldn't have held on to the lead that Adam gave our last leg runner. We might not have won any way - but ti would have been interesting to see a race between Adam and the French and Dutch guys on the last leg! @@jensmith3719

    Poor decision by the coaching staff.
    Very hard to gauge a solo effort.

  • @stuartwalker6786

    The switch was the correct decision, I think khahisa would be the first to admit, she didn't run to her best, as soon as she set off she looked 'blocked' like she was running scared and not relaxed. Marginal gains though, I don't know why you didn't tag at the backend of the changeover zone so your momentum would carry through and Khahisa have a flying start, she looked like she was stuck in slo-mo at the change over. Great personal run and great result though!

      Gave it a real crack, very tough job to run the final leg at the best of times, especially when you know you’re being chased! Still great to hang on for a medal for the team
