You will feel like you're in Spain or something, but of course with a very rich Mexican touch :) It is super safe. I am not traveling alone, but I am working here and walking alone even in the dark. It is a student city, about 30 000 students here, so there are many events, music, festivals, art shows outside, etc... It is SO cool. The best choice if you want to take lessons :)
