Revelation Series #9. Jesus coming on the clouds

In Matthew 24:30, Jesus declares that the Son of Man will come on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. This language is not about a physical descent from the sky but follows the prophetic tradition of the Old Testament, where God “coming on the clouds†symbolizes divine judgment upon nations.
For example: Isaiah 19:1 Behold, the Lord rides on a swift cloud and will come into Egypt.†(Judgment on Egypt)
• Psalm 104:3 He makes the clouds his chariot.†(Symbolic imagery of God’s authority)
• Daniel 7:13-14 One like the Son of Man coming with the clouds of heaven.†(Messianic enthronement, not a physical descent)
In AD 70, Jesus’ prophecy was fulfilled when Jerusalem was destroyed by the Romans. His coming on the clouds signified his divine judgment against Israel for rejecting him as the Messiah, bringing an end to the Old Covenant system.
