Started riding 8 years ago with my daughter when she was 15 and I was 52 on lake of the Ozarks. Am now 60 and bought a 23 FXHO. Just finished first season and it was the best summer of my life. Worth every penny. 😀
That's great; I did not start until I was retired so the kids were grown and gone. Although Kate visited last year and I was able to make a video with her; still hoping to make one with my son when he visits. Lake of the Ozarks give you countless opportunities and adventures I imagine! Cool! Thanks for watching and commenting! Bob
2022 Kawasaki Ultra 310x with Kspeed ECU (77 MPH TOP SPEED). Favorite spot is live streaming on Wednesday's on the Ohio river in downtown Cincinnati! Learned to ski in Jamaica (Ocho Rios) in 1987.
Hahaha - on the blooper reel. My reasons for owning skis is that my wife and I rented two Sea-Doos for 4 hours (free range jet skis - rental place says you can take them anywhere). Got back and my wife of 38+ years told me that she wanted a Jet Ski and that was literally the first and only time she’s ever asked me for anything. At all. So, what could I say? So I said “sure, let’s get one” and she said “um, no, you can get one if you wish, but I want my own”. I liked the Sea-Doos fairly well, but the FX Cruiser-HO ticked off all the boxes for us… and my son owns a Sea-Doo and said that everything breaks and there’s a ton of maintenance. His only advice was not to get one with a supercharger. So far, so good after some warranty work, we were finally able to get both launched and had our first nice ride. Looking forward to many more. Thanks for your videos
Yes some days I am sharper on camera than others; needed more coffee that day. Great story about how you got into skiing and your story strikes home when you say that is the only thing she has ever asked you to get her! hahahhaha. Usually it's the boys buying all of the toys throughout a marriage; glad she spoke up and glad you two now have skis together! Glad you got out there ; look forward to coming down. Bob
I have been riding since 1989 used to ride motorcycles. I got married in 1986 wife didn’t want riding bikes anymore. Started riding small 2 stroke Seadoo, still riding today. Riding motorcycles since 12 years old PWC riding came pretty easy first ride was on lake Harris. The Ski was a Sea Flash was basically a bath tub with handle bars.
You are right about the freedom a Jet Ski gives you. I call mine 'Libertas', who was the Roman Goddess of Freedom. Sea Doo GTX 230/2021. Beautiful lake, and morning. Nothing better than a solo ride in the quiet of a beautiful sunrise. I learned to ride on Narragansett Bay, and the Rhode Island Sound. Hope to go out until at least mid-November. Started in late April. Stay well. I'll look forward to your videos over the winter. Safe travels.
Yes I just keep going earlier and earlier when I am solo... so much better to catch the sunrise on the ski; keep riding until it gets too cold! Thanks for watching as always Don! Bob
I got my ski (2022 FX HO) strictly for spearfishing and fishing. Of course it’s a blast to ride around as well. It gives me more flexibility in places I can launch, places to get to, and in things I do. Plus parking a ski trailer is a breeze when space is tight. Enjoy your videos!
Very cool; where do you spearfish? I also like the ability to handle a smaller watercraft versus a boat and bigger trailer, etc etc etc! Thanks for watching and commenting! Bob
I spearfish all around the Big Island in Hawaii. Mostly along the deeper reefs, away from easily accessible areas from land. Do you do any fishing from your ski?
I learned on Mullett Lake in northern Michigan while on a family vacation back in 2010. My daughter (Samantha) and I rented a couple Waverunners for a day. It was very intimidating at first, but it did not take us long to get the hang of it. It was so neat exploring the the lake and connecting rivers. Thanks for sharing the video! BTW, that high vis yellow shirt looks good on you.
Thanks for sharing! You have been at it for a long time... We rented a Waverunner for my daughter Kate in Traverse City MI once also... the shirt was more awake than I was!
Its hard sometimes to be a You Tube star - you know...always "on" The out takes are so popular I am thinking of not doing the video anymore and just post out takes.... :-) Thanks for coming back to the channel after a LONG absence. you USED to be my #1 fan! :-)
Have fun! There are many different types of waterways to explore in this state. You will like it… stay safe and thanks for watching hung my videos… Bob

When you buy a chart plotter the main factor is which MAPS you want. I got all North America lakes rivers and the coastal areas. Bob
Where did you learn to ski?
The Great South Bay, south side of Long Island when I was in my teens. Time flys.

I do not do any fishing… I would probably be terrible at it! How do you anchor your ski with spear fishing…. How deep is the water? Bob
