This is actually happening to me. A girl in my class secretly hates me and is always gossiping behind my back and acts like my friend when she isn't. And she thinks I don't know about it but I have really good friends who tell me everything and wouldn't stoop to her level and gossip about me. I've wanted to confront her about it because I'm the type of person who you don't mess with and have friends who will always back me up and support me. But I also don't want to start any trouble and her and I are kind of like teacher pets so the teachers could believe either one of us or believe our classmates and their decision will depend on what they say. Which makes things worth because while I have more people on my side because they always hear her gossiping about me, she has two people on her side who again thought were my friends but I guess not. And I also can't let this keep going on because even though don't care about what she says about me it still hurts that a person who I thought was my friend was always just pretending. What should I do?!?!?! Someone please help me!!!
I had the same thing happened to me, and you have two options that will benefit you in the end. 1. Confront her. Don't be mean to her, in fact be really nice, but genuinely so. You've never heard straight from her mouth what she's said about you, only what other people have said she's said. So, ask her if she was talking about you, be straight to the point. If she says she has, ask her to kindly stop because you think of her as one of her friends and it hurts you to know that shes done that. Or if she says she wasn't, ask her if she knows if anyone else was, because you heard some rumors floating around, and to not pass on any gossip she hears. 2. Stop thinking about her, stop talking about her, and stop letting her control how to feel and act. You only know what your friends told you, and the truth can be skewered when people have emotional attachment to them. For example: "I love eating meat!" can turn into, "I want to kill and eat all animals!" If you have a strong enough opinion on eating meat. So take that into consideration. And sometimes people only gossip about you because they feel threatened or because they don't know you well enough, so get to know them. Above all, be the bigger person, always be respectful and stop talking to your friends about that person, sometimes talking to other people only escalates the situation. I hope you get through it. And don't get too caught up in school life, you won't see even a quarter of those people when you become and adult.
If I were you I'd think about why doesn't she feel like she can just tell me directly? Maybe she just wants to be polite and not be awkward over something she feel uncomfortable or uncertain about you. And talked to your friends to get their feedback because they know you better.
Why do people care a lot if one person is busy on doesn't pay attention to them!? Greeting and loving your self is much better than buying others temporary love.
I _WiSH_ people did this more often, people can be such amazing friends but things like these really prove there irreplaceable plus it spares me the work and pain of having to be blunter or deal with their ignorance when when I *do* hate them.
I'm sometimes a shy person so when someone says hi to me I smile and say hi back in a really low voice.. And they couldn't hear me so they thought I just didn't want to say hi back
