The 5 is the perfect mix of sport and luxe.
I've had a 330i, two X5's, a 430i, a 528i and now a 530i and it's my favorite. Such a classy, fun sedan and such a beautiful drive! Your review is spot on. Thanks!

I imagine it's because of pompous old guys like my father who think a backup camera is for people "who can't drive" and that somehow having one makes you less capable. Don't even get him started on blind spot monitor too. It's bizarre
I was about to comment the same thing, that's so stupid. Some people may not want it but it's a good thing to have a very helpful. Honda, toyota, and other non luxury brands offer them as standard

I own the 2018 Xdrive 540I Sportsline model, it's the best ride I have ever owned.

I finally received my 540i about a month ago after a 7-month, 3-day wait (individual color), and I must say, it's more than what I expected; particularly, it was rumored that kick-to-open trunk wasn't going to be available due to the chip shortage, but to my surprise it was included! 2023 is the last year of the current generation G30, so if you want physical HVAC buttons, get them while supplies last!
I like how now instead of just using the remote to control the infotainment you have the option of gesture control and touchscreen:)
I am on my 3rd 5 series and I have no plans to change.
we just bought the 530e 2017 model , and we love it ! The car is just amazing in everyway possible

I see two different types of steering wheels on the 2018 5-series, the one in the video above and a round(er) one. What's up with that? I thought this one was 2017 and the rounder one was 2018 but I see both wheels on both vehicles.

These are extremely beautiful cars. I simply love the look. I would buy one if I had enough money, but I don't know why, for some reasons, I read a lot of bad things about BMW. I mean, a lot. And I don't know why.

To lease or finance this car is well over 900 to 1200 a month I know because I was going to lease and when I heard the numbers I took off like a bat out of hell in my 2014 535

Nice! I will seriously consider this as a viable vehicle option to my list. You failed to mention that this was available in the 3 L turbo diesel! 540D all wheel drive providing 0 to 60 in just over five seconds, and 26/36 mpg! I am a diesel enthusiast and this one takes the cake in its class. It is a later model diesel, as opposed to Audi and Jag cutting off the “D”in 2016…
You thought gesture control was just a gimmick until you used it and realized it’s still just a gimmick lol. I usually prefer Mercedes Benz over BMW, but I’m not sure how I feel about the new E Class and this looks pretty good.
What about the Jaguar XF? Clearly as much of a competitor as the Volvo or Lexus, especially in the driving stakes.

I believe that it is the comfort system, it is baggy, because it inflates/deflates as you go around corners, also if there are the massage seats, it will have to accommodate for the movement of those parts as well .. I don't like BMW - these seats look comfy though
Commentator541 get a clue numb nuts . It’s because it needs to be slightly loose to accommodate all the adjustment. Do you really they’re going to make shoddy seats in a 7 and 7 series costing high 5 and low 6 figure sums?

Nice car , although it has some tough competition. Some cars out there are just as good at a better price. Plus you can get taken away by the options in this car has and end up paying 15.000$ more.
From what I know….back up camera has to be standard feature per US federal law….

The reason adaptive steering "quits" is because it's mandated by law to prevent people from trying to make the car drive itself. It's a safety feature so if you take your hands of the wheel, it will turn off after a short time.

The adaptive steering turns off in 14 seconds if it does not sense a hand on the steering wheel. Please do the research before you complain about something you don't understand.
A backup camera is required on all 2018 cars in the US, so either you are wrong or BMW is breaking the law

i just love everything about 5 series except for the rear seats.. e class takes the rear seat comfort to the next level.. i too feel a car with this price tag should get the most luxurious back seat.. i am always confused between e class and 5 series
no diesel? cuz 19 mpg its not great...
Diesel gets over 30 mpg no matter how much you flog it. Usual is around 36 mpg US gallons. Too bad KBB neglected to even mention this great optional setup
