- I filmed these Trains at Joliet Union Station in the summer of 2004. The first Amtrak train is the westbound Texas Eagle. You also see many BNSF freight trains, local trains, and other Amtrak Illinois passenger trains.
Yes that's the one I just couldn't remember which one it was off the top of my head lol there was one time me and my family went up Donner to go to the snow and we saw Amtrak in Truckee with 3 P42's one of each in phase 3, 4 and 5 which was really cool to see the distinction in phases between the past and present and In my opinion phase 3 was best scheme Amtrak ever had!
Super video as always! The cross-over certainly makes a lot of noise, I was wondering what was making it! LOL!
Always prefer the old school Amtrak scheme!
Oh yes it is very noisy! It was once 4 tracks crossing over 3-4 tracks many years ago. The station is right behind me and plenty of cops check the area.
The signal box is still being used by the railroads.
You mean the phase 3 (1979-1993), yes it is a nice looking paint scheme.
Wow. So much has changed since then within the industry.
Yes exactly !
Thank you buddy. It was a nice day out for everyone.
Great catches! I really like that B40-8W 1:22.
They where very modern back then Danny
You have sharp eyes! I know someone would be checking that unit out.
Thank you Michael.
Thank you Curtis.
Who?
Nice!!
2004 was the best year ever
Ill take your word for it. LOL I had a great time down there.
Yes, because it's when I was born!
Hey Danny this one was really cool! Very much enjoyed & liked. See you soon my Canadian frind. Cheers, John.
Yes, sadly. This is the old Santa Fe line. The first train Amtrak's Texas Eagle was done to a one unit train and already no longer carrying mail and express cars on the rear.
