I disagree. The songs sounds more emotional and the duet represents the significance of the duality of the relationship the song speaks of. If the song requires two people to play it, it only signifies the message of the song even more.
Fun fact if you get to the end of the transcription I wrote I made it to where the last chord is played by both players, and they have to cross their adjacent arms to play it. It is a love song after all.
