As of right now I don’t see the Oilers winning the Pacific Division. They’re the oldest team in the league, they’re facing cap issues and a few bad contracts, and in the crease they have massive inconsistenty with Skinner and and a 30+ year old backup who’s been bouncing around in the minors forever. If Vancouver’s biggest issue is no Demko for a few weeks/months, that’s not an insurmountable obstacle. Silovs has shown he can rise to the occasion.
@SweetCaroline-pp7lf Let's be fair, they do have guys like Nurse, Kulak, Brown, Emberson, Stecher...sorry I couldn't even type this without laughing out loud.
I see the Canucks and Oilers neck and neck all season. The Canucks have improved in every department except maybe goaltending depending if Demko can get back to being himself. All they are missing is a 2nd pairing puck mover and they are set . Zadorov and Lindholm weren't even impact players until the playoffs not worried about losing them.
let me guess you are going to pick the oilers. Lol. I say the oilers barely make it in. They are not deep have very few good defenseman and still have only one good goalie . No depth
Utah? Heck Quebec City is going to win a cup before Toronto does. They are a joke team with zero cups in the entire history of the NHL as a pro league. (Before '67 doesn't count. Six teams does not a real league make.) Oilers Miss the playoffs and Kings take the cup. Come at me in June oiler stans.
@@Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa369 I'm not. I'm making a judgement call. Any league with only six teams isn't a professional league. Ergo any cups awarded before expansion are at best amateur trophies, and thus do not count. Moreover, and if the sheer lack of a proper number of teams doesn't convince you maybe this will. Before expansion there was no proper draft in place. Players had their rights mandated by where they were born geographically. For example if a player was born in Edmonton, Detroit automatically owned all Right to his career, for life, with zero recourse. This limited the ability for players to negotiate fair contracts and they were exploited for decades by the owners. If there is no proper competition there can be no actual league. Ie the league is at it's core not operating in any kind of professional manner it is by definition not a professional league. Either way, Toronto has won precisely zero championships at the professional level. Period. They are, always have been and always will be irrelevant in terms of professional hockey. Deal with it.
The Kings falling off? WTF are you smoking!?!? If anything they are vastly improved. Sure Drew is out for a month to start the season but the 8 dmen we are carrying in our 23 man game day roster are more than capable of carrying the liad in his absence. Every single other position has improved in the off season. Kings are winning the cup this year. There i said it. Come at me in June oiler stans.
As a Canucks fan, I think 2nd place in the division may be a little generous, but I certainly don't expect them to finish higher than the Oilers. If Demko isn't back soon, they could be in some trouble, as any team without their number one goalie would be. I'm not as sold on Silovs as everyone else, especially as a number 1.
oilers haven't won the div in 500 years. Not sure if the canucks will repeat as division champs. It's def between those two, outside shot for Vegas if their team has multiple career years.

"The Oilers are a well built team."
Are you high?
Oil doesn’t even have a starting goalie
@SweetCaroline-pp7lf They barely have a defense as well.
@@Xyy2387 big drop off after Bouch and Ekholm. Guess they don’t need D when you have mccrytotherefs

@@Xyy2387 bahahaha, crazy what 2 players can do for a team
This is going to be the best year of hockey ever.

Pfff typical, oilers? They can try outscore their problems, where has that gotten the Leafs in the past
My god the meat riding for the oilers is embarrassing

Go back to watching football
A bitter Toronto fan

2 to 4 weeks for Demko. A handful of games. I'm not sold on Silovs either but they don't need crazy goaltending anymore.
The oilers have lost 6 players from last year due to incompetency and we won’t even make the playoffs this year!
