I'm so glad you mentioned how some clients want thin nails but they require structure. I'm a beginner and people have said they want thin or natural nails but dont understand there needs to be structure
I realized after I started doing my nails myself with enhancements and learning how to shape them properly is that my nails are too flat to grow long 😂 my nails are not naturally a good shape to grow well. People that I see who grow their nails long naturally usually have really strong rounded shaped nails, or a strong c curve. My pinky nails have a strong c curve and are shaped well and those are the only ones that grow long without breaking.
Also, I've been sculpting them since I've started doing them at home, and I've had no breaking with sculpting, and I don't realize until this video that the tips dont work well for me since my nails are so flat. Its making a lot of sense now.
I'm right there with ya! My middle fingers when they get any kind of length, they're kinda like wave shaped and flat, it's hard to describe, but I started doing mine too!
My nails are usually really, really strong. The only time I have had an issue was when I was playing with gel and soaked it off. I was doing it properly, not scraping and peeling it off either. It really messed my nails up and it took growing them out to make it better. Filing product off is so much better and doesn't cause problems.
I work with natural nail clients and usually if they come in and say that their nails keep breaking I do a few things: I obviously tell them that this might be a hereditary thing first, then i will recommend a product we sell (Nail Envy by OPI) and find the best one for their nails. I will sometimes say if this is constant then we should just take a break for a bit while using that product until your nails build up some strength or while applying gel I will add in a layer of structure gel to add some extra strength to the nail 😁💅🏻
Aw wow, I had just commented on another video about my natural nails being so thin, I was scared to put my nails back on. I had written you guys asking if it was possible to use a form on an injured and damaged nail; I think it's pretty awesome how you guys not only answer our questions, but you do videos like this as kinda a broad answer to the mass of us that were asking similar questions! I've learned so much from y'all! ( In case you were wondering, I only made it a few days before I put a set back on, and I had no problems!:) Thanks again!
OMG I recently started doing my nails and my daughters and no matter what I couldn’t get tips right, I was so stressed tried everything in the videos and nothing they were so hard for me until I found young nails and ordered me the acrylic kit started building my nails and it was so easy, fits perfect and nv get any lifting or breaking anymore 🙌 I watch all your videos and take all your tips and absolutely love your products, now I’m considering going to school and taking a course, honestly I will nv go back to nail tips they are so hard and so much more work 😩
What would you suggest on clients that have flat free edged nails? And also the ones that their free edge tends to curl inward. It causes the separation from the artificial and then starts lifting.
I did a builder gel overlay and cracked 3 nails. That product and me are not friends. Onto structure gel. Gel polish did me well but I wanted something to give a little more protection but hard gel seems to be to hard for an overlay for me
Another possibility is IF the nail plate / matrix was previously damaged. My index finger was severely pinched 20 years ago and it hasn't grown right since. Always breaks even at an active length.
Absolutely can do too much.. just like if you over file with a hand file. Here's a video that goes more in depth with that and can help! ruclips.net/video/UOLJ_izyBj4/видео.html
@@youngnailsinc thank you for answering. Watched video and really helped! I was surprised you answered me since I watched video so late, you guys are awesome!😀
Ive noticed over time, water will separate the nail glue from the natural surface especially if too much glue is used. Protecting your investment is key! The trick is using gloves TYFS ❤❤❤
Do you have any videos on forms with dip powder? I've watched tons of your videos but it's mostly acrylic and gel techniques. Tracy talked about tips versus enhancements and I've just moved from tips to building on forms. I'm aware that dip powder is not ideal for extreme length enhancements, but are there any rules or guidelines when it comes to how much length I can add with dip powder? From what I gather, it's probably less length than using pure acrylic. I remember another video where Tracy mentioned the pigment does interfere with density of the product. I have made a habit of making the clear acrylic my best friend in the dip universe. I've been playing it safe and extending the nail no more than 1/3 of the natural nail length. Do you think I could push it further than that?
@@youngnailsinc the set I have on right now is my second one I used forms for. Last set lasted me 2 weeks with no breakage and no lifting. I thought that monomer was something I'm not supposed to use with dip powder. Hmm🤔
My enhancements on clients that break or gel that peels is almost always the clients fault in not taking care of them after visiting the salon. And when the nails break because it's my fault it's because of structure 🤓 or because I allow my clients to touch their phones and drink beverages 💁♀️
If I was going to pass on ANY tips for natural nails? Side walls....do NOT bugger up your side walls...I try to leave my side walls alone. I do NOT file into them to create ANYTHING other than the natural shape that grows. Why? because for me...it alters the integrity of what little c curve i have...c curve = strength...and hydrate those nails...LOTS...i got so many oils and creams and lemony flutters good lord...my nails are no where near perfect...but i have found peace with them LOL...i wear gloves to do ANYTHING that might stress my hands...Dry and brittle nails can SOMETIMES mean lack of hydration...and i dont just mean creams and oils....more water too...yeah yeah i know...hehehe

i am a huge believer in GLOVES for everything!! Dishes, gardening, cleaning! Just do it !! And nails are NOT tools :)
Absolutely!! So true!
I don’t get why people refuse to wear them, defeats the purpose of getting nails in the first place.

Great advice, and nice way to take care of your clients in the long term!
Going through a rough time right now your videos are so great and relaxing they’re helping me through it 💜

That's amazing, thank you for sharing that! We're here for you! thank you for watching our videos!
Can you guys please do a video of all the supplies a new nail tech should buy before getting started after getting license???
Wow I never thought about it. What great information. Thank you so much for sharing this.

This! I have one client that has the curvature inward too that I have a heck of a time keeping in check.
The only thing I can think of is to efile underneath. But if she is trying to grow her nails out it defeats the purpose. So.. I’m not sure 🤷🏻♀️
Why is my client acrylic nails always breaking after a week?. Specially her thumb and index finger . Can someone help me please. Thanks

Maybe I need to try gel? My hands are in water quite a bit. Does water really affect acrylic? I had no idea!
The sides of my nails seem to chip, which forces me to lightly file/smooth the snags, therefore, weakens the nails even further. What should I do?
"Because they're doing it wrong!!" 😂🤣😂 And Tracey... LOVE your blouse!! 😍
😂 and thank you!! ❤️💖
Mine break all the time. Thank you for the video, ❤️
Happy to help!

What about when your using efile on the cuticle, can that also cause having too thin nails by doing too much work on it?
Absolutely can do too much.. just like if you over file with a hand file.

If you're using it with resin you can’t form it. If you're using it with monomer you can sculpt just like you would using regular powder.

I know this is not the point of this video; but i love your outfit stacy! You look so nice!

Can you do a video on how to make acrylic nails look skinny using nail tips

I'm going to send this to my clients. They need to know that their nails will not be strong after acrylic.
I have kittens that try to eat my long nails 😂😂😂
Is your last name SALO or YOUNG? 🤔
Young I believe is their mother's name and their last name is Salo.
