Adam thank you for going there, making this video, it is so very helpful to understand the SKANF technic better. Olga & Aleksey thank you for explaining so well this beautiful technic.
What? We saw her throwing like five (or so) lazy shots from a meter to meter and a half distance. There wasn't much to see from her (at least in this video).
BIG Thanks to Olga and Aleksey for this Amazing Tutorial! If you Learned something New like I did SMASH the LIKE Button and Help me Share This Video! Thank you so Much Everybody and see Next Week for Really CRAZY Episode of Lords of the Blades! #StaySafe #KnifeSquad
At the 28 minute mark I discovered why I instinctively slap my leg after releasing the knife. This is a lot of information. This is so good, thank you!
I try to move the wrist as little as possible so as to make the throw more consistent but they use a lot of wrist and are VERY consistent!!! VERY INTERESTING!!!
The day I saw this I tried it with a teaspoon with a plastic handle managed to pierce a cardboard box haha. that was yesterday, today I threw an apple in the air and when it came down 3 feet away my teaspoon was ready, really accurate and deadly technique
Thanks for a great tutorial with Olga, Aleksey and friend. It is a very satisfying throw when done correctly - powerful while using small amount of energy. 🌸
Adam: you are splendide to take the time to share. Beliayev, Tomtom, Bykov , other great throwers also : such fluidity and balance in the movement . Always controlled . The Goal for me.
Ok, so let me see if I got this right. I have no experience throwing knives at all, but I have some theoretical knowledge on similar concepts in sword fighting with certain blades like viking age swords or the Russian Shashka. Essentially, it's an entirely inertia based technique, where you start off with a quick twitch muscle movement to get the motion going and then just let the momentum carry the arm through the motion. The arm would act like a trebuchet to pass its momentum on to the knife, with the hand acting as the sling. It also makes sense why you would want to release as early as possible. Since your arm isn't following through, timing the point of release to be just right would be nigh impossible and there is no reason to hold on to the blade either way, since you want it to start sliding as soon as your hand can no longer impart any momentum. The section about joints also makes sense. After the initial burst, the entire motion needs to be passive and having static force on any part of the arm will put excessive tension on the joints.
I'm learning this too. I have only found success when I tell myself to "pull with the body; push with the finger." My wave and my arm do the pulling. This must end when I get close to the apex. I then push with my finger. I am not sure where the finger start-point is in relation to the balance of the knife. I think that we can learn from this if we listen carefully enough. The release must be early as heck. The wrist must do much of the work. The inertia must move to the tip of the knife. Start with light knives. We should avoid reliance on stepping, big arm movements (wide radius), stabilizing the wrist, and most of all, old habits. One final thing, Olga leads with her wrist at the beginning of her swing. We should probably follow that example.
Great video! One of the things I observed was the hole in the handle, when I attempted the loose grip pinching my thumb and second finger the knife tended to fall out of my hand. My knives are heavy and can see how the hole helps to grip the knife. Will be drilling holes in the handle to assist in holding the knife. This is the best instructional video I have seen on RUclips!
Hi Guys! Thank you so much! Great to see a right hand thrower, no diss involved. Also the waist high technique is my natural way when a little pissed at myself!
Fortunately I'm old enough to understand almost all that Olga said (also this dude with tiger shirt). In my elementary school times in Poland Russian was the only foreign language. In highschool I learned English and of course... Russian ;)
this is the right technique - original Fedin's hand 👉🔪 shown a lot of cool stuff 🤟 I think the only problem with the Skanf low sports performance, but it is fixable ))) beautiful flight 🔥
What they were trying to say, I think, was OVEREXTENTION of the shoulder and elbow is a common problem with the standard overhand throwing style. Not a problem with the Fedin technique. More power, less exertion. Please correct me if I'm wrong. If I ever make it to Moscow, I'm definitely gonna look you guys up for a lesson! 🤙
Very nice video Adam ! thank you very much. Olga Fedina respect a maximum! where we can found SKANF blad ? such 3'47" when Atom speak of his knif. great moment, thanks Adam Laurent F
So interesting to see this style. I want to see those Chinese throwers again as well as Leigh Maulson and ive always wanted to see collab with Houzan Suzuki but that guy is under the radar it seems
Hi Adam, i got a question for you folks over there. How do you keep your blades nice and sharp? Do you recommend any sharpening tools, or do you do it the old fashioned way with a stone? Asking cause I'm poor and can't afford an industrial machine. Keep up the great work, man.
That is also much more powerful throw... not that it matter with Adam's heavy knives but with light knife it is very important to have power to penetrate
Gotta disagree by just the look of it. I'd say adams technique generates much more penetration power. And I believe the description they are searching for is ""like a whip...lol" either way looking good fellas! Adam looked maybe a bit nervous at first, but absorbs with the spirit of every good student and discipline of a master! Very good my friend!
Funny I did exactly that when throwing sideways automatically I just found out but I never tried it out yet to do for further distances. Actually you could say from the arm, hand and even finger movement it’s similar to tennis or table tennis. Maybe this helps some people for beginning.

10 meters its like he was throwing a Frisbee lol so fast! and direct Aleksey, I take my hat of for you, beast mode!.
Olga makes something so complex look simple. Great skills
That’s the mean thing about any good technique. It looks silly simple and you go nuts trying it in the beginning 😂

SUCCESS!! Iv'e watched this video about 50 times trying to take one tip each time but the "elbow down" tip has changed everything!! Big thanks 🤘
I was wondering why this video is getting still some views hehe thank you my friend glad it helped :)))
@@AdamCeladin , it's really a very interesting video. I may have to make some Skanf knives...
@@AdamCeladin This video will always get some views. It's like the BEST video I've seen on knife throwing!!!

Great video, I learned a lot.
Great instructional video! I have been following him for years! His technique is powerful as simple, but not easily mastered!
At the 28 minute mark I discovered why I instinctively slap my leg after releasing the knife.
This is a lot of information. This is so good, thank you!
Olga, what an arm and very nice smile too. Thank you Adam for bring these experts to us.
My pleasure!

Awesome throwing blades from Olga Fedina. Thanks for the knowledge an showing this video , Adam !!!!!!!!!!!!
A lot of knowledge, valuable tips, a very dangerous technique straight from the battlefield.

Something new about no spin throwing, Thank's Adam...👌👍
I would so go and train with olga. Not even joking. Learn from a master

Thank you for uploading such a detailed instruction. This will help in learning by a lot!
I like how she drapes her skirt a little then bow at the end of the video.... very traditional.
Explained very well. It looks odd but it works. 1st attempt at throwing and was able to make it work fairly consistently..... And with chopsticks
he takes his energy mostly from the hip rotation👌

To weź gdzieś to wszystko przetłumacz bo też jestem dostatecznie stary ale zawsze byłem wyjątkowo kiepski z rosyjskiego i nic nie rozumiem
Amazing video. Fascinating. Thanks Adam. I would have liked to hear their opinions on the Ahmadu style.

Wow. This is cool. I need to learn how to throw in this style.
Skanf is what I learned with my non-dominant hand and I think that it is a beautiful feminine motion for a man for woman and is strangely powerful.
虽然不懂你们的语言,好在从你们的比划中得知各手法的优点👍

This is such a cool throwing technique... but damn it‘s kinda hard to get xD
But I think it‘s like the most aesthetic method i‘ve seen
BOOM!! Thank you so much for this my brother! Great video!!
Amazing technique
Difficult to catch but awsome, would love to know how to do it...

Hey Joju our knives are actually not Sharp at all because we need only Sharp tip and thats it
sharp knives tend to cut into other knives and make metal burrs that can slice you. i keep a file with my throwing blades.
So much to learn in this Video!
Always amazing thank you
Thank you too!

Love this Chanel!!!
Thank you Liam
That is some veri fine knives
I think women have an advantage in skanf becasue they are more flexible and have more momentum when spinning!
@Hansi_Hinterseer also it seems the movements are inherently feminine
Thanks i really need this
So Awesome Adam Thank you this fits right in with my Style 🔪❤️😎👍👍
He’s so good 😊 makes it look easy 🙅🏻
Excellent ✨
@@raghidmuhja_4624 thank you my friend
I have a question for you,Adam. Did Yuri throw Skanf technique holding the knife by the blade or the handle? He was too quick for me to tell
he used both grips
You maybe have some good recommendations for knives that work good for that technique looks like fun :)
Amazing time thank you
Wow - Adam thanks for the material from Moscow :)
Awesome video
great video see you on the next one
Very nice 👍 and informative, Thank you so much !!!

Clip points vs dagger knife. Daggers are illegal to CCW in Caloco. Make sure its in sheath belt.

What a great technique... 💪👍🔥
this is an awesome vid
Do you recommend cheaper throwing knives?
Olga is right, like a finger pointing to the moon, concetrate on the finger, and you miss all the Heavenly Glory.
Is skanf good for combat throwing
Cool. 🏁☠️☠️☠️🏁

бесподобно!!!
Сильная вещь!.. Всё простое, - сложно в понимании!
I prefer ur throws Adam..👍
Is this technique would work with any knife?
Alexei Atom!? What a cosmological name!
Amazing
Crazy thing is, is watching their hands turn red from the blood flow from throwing the knives at such a hard fast short distance.
I love OIga Fedina
