+B.jaynee Holleran Hi jaynee the easiest wood to use is a length of hardwood 100mm x 100mm square alternatively you can laminate pieces together to get the desired thickness you want, i have found that 1 solid piece of hardwood gives the right amount of flex and doesn't sag over time, hope this helps
Thanks so much for uploading this video it really helped my dad build me a beam, but we just need to know where you got the adhesive spray from :) BTW I live in Australia...
Hi Ben :-) How much did you use 3mm foam rubber and real suede for making this padded gymnastics balance beam? What was the name of the glue spray that you used? I loved your video. Our daughter is a gymnastic girl age 8 years old and need to trains more at home on a gymnastics balance beam . She exercise on her gymnastic club 3 times in a week 6 hours a week. We'll like to make this gymnastics balance beam for her as a Christmas present.
+Elsi Tollefsen Hi Elsi, the foam you use can be bought in any size and cut to what you need, i used appropriately 2 square meters, as for the suede you will need continuous lengths. So i used a piece that was 3.5 meters long by .5 wide. The contact spray is made by a company called selleys and its called kwik grip. But any contact adhesive will work but i do recommend a spray pack for easy application. I hope you can make one before Christmas as your daughter will love it. Thanks for watching
+Jamye Lynn Hi Jamye it's really easy, just a length of hardwood then spray glue and attach 3mm foam rubber then spray glue again then sued material for non slip :)
Ben's Worx thanks Ben. Went again and found the hardwoods but they're all not in very good condition. Ended up getting treated Pine. You reckon it's ok?
