    The AF is apparently cloning C130 pilots??? I guess this saves money but seems a little extreme.

    Hope that's an extra load sitting in the IP seat. Can't even be bothered to buckle up for landing.

    Got to do an overhead break in a Canadian C-130, after a tanker hop. A lot of fun!

    Have you gotten to fly other C-130 variants, or just the standard C-130?

  • @cherifbar

    How would you like to fly one of those Rockwell B1B’s instead?

    • @ReachAviation
      @ReachAviation  Год назад +1

      They fly?!
      To be fair, that mission isn't my jam but I would love to take the jet for a spin!

    how many feet above ground was the initial overhead over the threshold?

    • @ReachAviation
      @ReachAviation  11 месяцев назад +2

      Depends on the airfield. Dyess is 1500 AGL.

    • @planespotter_luca
      @planespotter_luca 11 месяцев назад

      @@ReachAviation was that only because you overflow the aircraft on final or is that also the altitude for a pattern overhead? Here at Ramstein AB we have a 500ft AGL limitation which is pretty cool

    can you list me ( or link me) the cockpit mounts that you use for the gopros? My boss in a 135 operation would like to know, to get some. Thank you so much ( former crew chief F-4G Wild Weasel)

    • @ReachAviation
      @ReachAviation  Год назад

      Generally just the stock sticky mounts. I also use a suction cup mount on the window and a bicycle handle bar mount for a camera left of the pilot and in the cargo compartment.

    Do you know why Lockheed only made the left seat with the ability to control the nose wheel on the ground. Versus just having the rudder pedals do that operation so either seat could steer while on the ground.

    • @ReachAviation
      @ReachAviation  Год назад +1

      Not sure. I think its due nose wheel sensitivity and the way it is linked. The 130s steering is very sensitive and the nose can rotate to large angles for tight turns. The 135 i think had 15 degrees left and right of center with the pedals then additional deflection through the tiller. It was more stable but couldn't turn quite as tight. Overall i prefer the 135 setup. Trading control on the ground is easy but annoying.
