The UK Caramilk is sweeter than the Aus version, and I don't think it's as creamy. The Australian Cadbury still proudly states there is a "glass and a half" of milk in every pound of chocolate. That is not a claim we in the UK have even hinted at for a very long time lol. I like the Australian version, does exactly what it says on the tin; I love the UK version, however, it is my first choice of all chocolate bars.
What you need to be aware of with the UK version is that not all bars are created equally. They started with a 90g bar when it first came out, then over the summer I noticed that they introduced an 80g bar as well that could be sold for £1 while keeping the 90g bar for premium sales. The 80g bar contains 5% caramelised milk powder as opposed to 7% caramelised milk powder in the "premium" 90g bar. This pattern follows, I think with the bags of buttons, with the 105g bag of giant buttons tasting delicious and creamy, and the 90g bag of buttons tasting grainy and cheap. Recently, they have brought out a 160g big bar of Caramilk exclusively at the 7% caramel level (thank god, because the bigger squares have a nicer mouthfeel)

Absolutely 100% spot on review Kelly. I discovered this a couple of weeks ago. I loved the original Caramac from my childhood. I would say that this new version is just as good as the original. From what I can remember. I like your idea of using it as a flavouring for some baked goods. I have scones in mind. Stay Safe and Well. 🙏❌

To be fair on Cadbury the inventor bars were pretty bland on the inside too. As for the Caramilk, it's way thinner than the Aussie version.

Haha true! Yeah it is thinner, I wonder now if that's to kinda compete with what people are used to with Caramacs as they are super thin?

I think Cadbury's should have stuck to the Australian recipe & given us Brits a more realistic tasting bar rather than this thin anaemic offering.

Caramilk in Canada is smooth chocolate with a runny caramel filling. I've had both you gotta try the Canadian one. They are made in Toronto along with some other amazing Canadian bars, like wunderbar, crunchie, crispy crunch and Mr big

I have tasted it well the single bar version. I found is nice enough and it did stick with the brand as I did feel like I was eating a Cadbury product when eating it. That being said I prefer Caramac as I find Caramac more of a stronger taste and I wouldn't get the Cadbury one again as I would just get Caramac if I am craving caramel chocolate, which I don't often don't but I do occasionally.

I love Caramilk. It's partially responsible for turning me onto white chocolate, and its become a stock standard chocolate for stores here in Australia. You'll find it in all grocers and service stations.

Oh, and supposedly Caramilk tastes way better after its been 'aged' for a year. I thought even Cadbury supported this statement but I couldn't find anything when googling. There is a video on youtube of an Aussie food reviewer comparing a fresh one vs a year old one and apparently there was a marked improvement.

The caramilk here is really just white-chocolate tasting to me, it's not at all caremelised; it's just the white chocolate with caramelised milk powder!

Way too sweet. It’s definitely taste like the normal white chocolate with a hint of caramel. Just like any white chocolate it tastes like milk powder with a crazy amount of sugar. I wouldn’t consider as chocolate at all.
