Trams and road traffic drives on the RIGHT hand side.Argentina roads were Left hand side until 10-6-1945 ... British influence when all was changed to RIGHT hand side. Many of the railways drive on the LEFT hand side.
When the changeover was made in 1945 I remember there were posters all over the country showing a left black hand and a white right hand to symbolise it, and make it clear for drivers. Of course there were many minor collisions at first...
@@tonyjones9442 The argument was that all other Latin American countries - except Uruguay - drove on the right. And traffic at border passes and bridges with Brazil, Chile, Bolivia and Paraguay was for thst reason dangerous. I believe it was a slap in the face directed at the Brittish, by the then military govt. The decree was signed b Public works minister, General Pistarini, a close friend of Peron. My father´s De Soto 1937 always kept its steering wheel and pedals on the right, and the same was for other American cars built specially for Argentina with that feature.
My sole hope is that public-private partnerships in Argentina will heavily invest in light rail/trams throughout the greater Buenos Aires area so that the refurbished light rail/tram system will eventually eclipse that of Greater Melbourne.
i thing you got something wrong the depot is polvorin you like to put your live in danger don't you, going to the premeto (e2) is something you have to avoid, also "Tren de la Costa runs on a formation of a former (abandon and dismantled) broad gauge suburban railway and uses Italian built trains (CAF is a spain company) ..." Most recent Light Rail line is the demonstration line (demonstration?, they keep demonstrating since 2007) well, thanks for coming to "good air" i should say
