Looking at this bike for short list, The Deore is great and the next up N/GX is super compatible. Also great for the price over the Tallboy and in line with the Stumpy comp.
I have a 2020 trance 29er alloy and love it. had hoped that ibis would do a ripley af .it could be my next bike I think supply could be a issue at the moment ibis will sell heaps of them
For an aluminum trail bike the weight is actually quite light, I think Ibis has a real winner here. Of course I already have a Ripmo AF, which is the quiver killer, so not in the market for a new bike.

Funny, I asked ibis when the Ripmo AF first came out, if they plan to make a Ripley AF. At the time, they said we have to see how sales do first. They been crushing it so far, and thought it was just a matter of time. Low and behold!!.....LOL. I'm assuming the stability is more on point as "Mo Awesome" explained? It seems to me the common criticism on all Ripley models is the stability. The extra weight on the AF must seal deal in the stability category? I would love to demo one and if I had to buy one I would go with green - looks sick!! However, I'm very content on my Ripmo V1...LOL. I have a lot of love for the Ripley though, since it was my first Ibis and have a lot of great memories with her.
Would this be good for me if I enjoy sending it big on trails but also do 5-6 xc races a year? My only is the suspension when I’m jumping and just playing around
It's a nice bike for sure, however I just bought a 2021 Polygon T8 with a great spec and basically the same geo. for 800.00 dollars less. Yes it has the Fox Rhythm 34 and no flip chip but I would rather save almost a grand than be able to make my bike 1/2 degree slacker. Besides how many people really set that chip back k and forth on a regular basis ?

what if you put an angle headset on the carbon ripley so it was 65.5 HA? would it be clearly better than the AF?
