The Interstate 70W closure at the Morrison, Colorado exit due to whiteout conditions and blowing snow was hampered by a tractor trailer that had slidden off of the roadway and blocked the exit. This exit was to be used to turn the westbound traffic around and reroute them back east. Several stranded drivers, CDOT officials and law enforcement officials used shovels to try to free the semi but were unsuccessful. Heavy equipment was brought in to clear a path around the semi so the stranded motorists could proceed.
Best part of the video is random people getting out to help a stranger
I got stu in the snow couple of weeks ago. Nobody would help me after 2 days. Stranger stopped and helped me push my car out of a snow bank.
My son was helped out TWICE today to get home and I’m SO grateful. There were a total of 6 people that assisted and they didn’t have to, but did.
@@billbixby7877 oh no! That’s so awful! I’m so sorry that happened to you. We’re you in CO? Maybe people thought your car was already cleared out or something? I don’t know, but man, that had to be a tough go of it for 2 days!
God bless those who helped 🙏🏻
It's a good person helping an idiot that should have park instead of driving
I live in the Colorado mountains and I just stayed home nice and cozy by the fire 🔥.
You are the smartest person in Colorado. Storm was a few hours late, but it was predicted. These people get what they get.
Smart and safe. That's the ticket. We hunkered down for our storm here in central Texas. Nothing nothing like your blizzard, but just devastating in it's effects. Had firewood. Siblings in the city lost power, we never did.
That's the only way to keep up on the sidewalks. Stay home, keep shoveling. Plenty time for hot cocoa in between! 👍
I grew up in CO in the mountains. When I left this beautiful state I was delighted to be away from head-bolt heaters, tire chains and studded snow tires. I worked for nearly 28 years in the cold as I re-learned how to drive every year due to the slick roads. As a paramedic, one must learn how to survive and stay out of trouble with the weather by learning how to cope and stay alive. I don't miss it. In the 33 years I've lived in AZ, I've only seen it snow here once in the desert where I live. I stayed in that day.
Right!? Who are these idiots upon idiots?
When you hear somebody say, "I know how to drive in the snow, I'm a native", walk away calmly. Avoid sudden movements.
What do you mean Native
@@sarahjenks662 for better or worse, it's what people born in CO call ourselves for being born in CO. It does not impart magic driving skills.
@Hunter fishman don't drive in the shit. It will beat you
@@sarahjenks662 ooooooo someone's looking for a reason to be offended.
WHY would you move from a place that never got snow? Unless it was an absolute must? Most of us who live in snow belts are trying to do the opposite. Lol.
Got a foot of snow here last night in Cripple Creek , Colorado. We are the 2 MILE high city at 9494 elevation. The snow has been blowing all day and I have been feeding about 100 or so forest birds continually at my feeders today! They love us and we love them.🐻🐦🐶🐦🐻🐶🐦
❤️
God bless you Rob Stevens. Please everyone put food out for the birds and wildlife they really need help. 24 to 36 inches is a lot of snow. Take roofs off as well.

Nice place been up in there before when I lived in the springs. Beautiful drive up old town now casinos. Back in ohio now
Next time you hear the winter weather warnings. STAY HOME ... STAY HOME
That's all there's to it
When one works in hospitals, nursing homes, power plants, fire, police, and other essential services; there is no stay at home.
I work right near there for the county and live 5 mins away. This was a bad, ugly storm. I plow snow and this is one of those storms that makes ya wanna find a new job. People don't understand how stressful it is for us plow drivers. Cant believe people were out driving in this.
I know what you mean , I Plow for Nevada DOT .
The worst part of all of this is, people were told to stay home unless it's an emergency!
Those dopes don't listen probly went out for coffee
You got it all wrong. This is Colorado, when blizzards are a warning, to them its a party!
@@davidmellet261 I love a hot cup of coffee.

Anybody who's lived in Colorado for a decent amount of time knows all about I-70, I-25 between Denver and Castlerock, and lots of other places. Welcome to Colorado, don't worry, the sun will come out, melt it all, until the next snowstorm. It's called living in, or near, the mountains.
Got to Love Rocky Mountian Winters!! 😍
😄😆🤣😂😎 dude gets out of his car with a TEA SPOON , to dig out a tractor trailer ... smh😒🤔😐
😂😂🤣🤣
An A for effort, though!
People have always made fun of all the stuff I carry in my suburban but being from Colorado you have to prepared for anything
I agree. This thou looks like a fun day for me to go driving. Chain up the front and rear and laugh at and or help the fools that are out there.
You know what REALLY sucks for those truck drivers? They're not getting paid while they're stuck in the snow. Sweat shops on wheels, people.😥
Living in the Sierra Nevada’s , the Flat Blade Shovel is your best friend
Buffalo NY guy here we know exactly what this is like. Good luck...better yet stay home
No you don't new yorkers don't know how to drive
@DARELL You're thinking NYC ... big difference between Buffalo, NY and NYC. Especially in winter. ;)
aww, that is so awesome. giant tractor trailor stuck, and great guy gets out to help with his wittle shovel. Go guy!
Its nice to see the guy, Am I allowed to say guy?, get out to help stuck semi, but he'll need a bigger shovel .
GENDERPHOBIC!!! Lol :)
Blizzard Warning was issued couple days ago. Why are these people on the road? ❄️🥶
WalMart
It wasn’t issued until almost noon today. A winter storm warning was issued a couple of days ago, and we’re used to those. Many people have to get to work to the hospitals, gas stations, grocery stores, etc. We DID end up closing our businesses down mid day, except for hospitals, urgent cares, etc.
People have jobs in case you didn’t know.
Those are MAGA people. They're not intelligent like their master Donald Trump.
@@hope4humanity222 actually message boards on I-25 as well as I-70 was showing winter conditions from Friday 11 am to Monday 11 am. So ppl had plenty of warning. But a lot of ppl don’t have common sense anymore. And don’t wanna do 511 in this state. I saw the signs on Friday as I was leaving Colorado Friday morning and drove to Texas and today I have been stopped in Lamar due to US 287 north closed here and I-70 closed between the 292-438.
this happens every spring. CO get its wet storms between March and the first week of June. Early winter is usually dry.
This Storm was predicted to be The Storm Of The Centruy...DUH..What IS so HARD to UNDERSTAND THAT ???!!! I live in Southern Colorado and even I SAW the REPORTS TO STAY the Hell OFF the ROADS And WHERE the STORM WAS Going To Hit And When !!!
It snows a lot here in March but we don’t usually get a blizzard every spring.
Do you think we're still gonna get snow through April and may? I'm new to denver :)
@@OfficialParkit Most likely if it does snow it will be very little and be melted in a blink of an eye. Sandhill cranes are migrating north and they're a pretty good indicator that anything severe is probably not going to happen. Nothing scientific, just observations I've made in the sixty-five years I've lived in Colorado.
In conditions like this its better to be late getting some place then not at all.
We had a record breaking snow here in Arkansas, and we just stayed home and had plenty of supplies on hand...
This is Colorado ; high altitude; lots snow
Lived there in old days before tunnel built.get walls of snow.and white outs.moved later to alaska.its normal winter.
Looks fun-ish from a distance. Hope all stay safe!
Colorado had plenty of notice that this was coming
Don’t understand why anyone was trying to go anywhere including to the airport
Tractor trailers it’s like driving a sports car or a 2wd drive pick up just because it’s big doesn’t mean it has a lot of traction sometimes it can make that worse
And as a responsible truck driver should not be out driving in this Bad weather driver should have of found a spot to sit
I do feel bad for the truck driver though very tough to not be able to do anything
Not all of the snowflakes in Colorado are the type that melt.
Many truck drivers are from the south and have no idea about snow
@@DBAllen And the ones that dont melt are idiots.
Trump told them it was a fake snow storm
@@r.jasoncruzet4680 Look out President Trump is hiding under your bed.
Honestly, I drive 18 wheeler, and saw this storm coming, avoided went through Co lorado just 1 day before this mess.. These people just love to play with snow, so let them enjoy it fully. They had a choice.
AMEN !!!!!
Ppl knew this storm was coming for a week. I don’t understand why they don’t stay off the roads!
People come from all over the world to ski here!
@@norway178 should wait til after the storm or go before it hits.
I’ve been in this kind of weather driving cause I had to. And on the way I had pulled out many vehicles along the way, including helping a couple of semis as well. Yes weather like this you need to error on the side of caution, but by the sounds of it “ you got stuck you deal with it “ attitude is pathetic. One family was in a emergency situation and had gotten stuck 5 min before I got there. And by helping them get unstuck and to their destination a mile from where they got stuck, they are doing quite well. Them being grateful was reward enough.
And I will add now I drive in theses conditions on purpose just to help people, so now what haters.
That's why they should make all new semi tractors with 10 wheel lock.
Fuel mileage would drop. Shipping cost would go up. You wouldn't want that would you?
Should have a full set of chains on the drive wheels and go sloe.
My sincerest condolences. Nothing worse than a late winter storm nearing the middle or end of March. Ugghh. Enough already. Looks like up here in Montreal, Canada winter is over and Spring has already started
I don’t know why 18 wheelers don’t chain up before they get stuck I drove 18 wheelers in the western states I chained up before get stuck or run of the road then you find a place to wait it out
He IS chained up... It is required during snow storms in that area... What happened, was that an IDIOT in front of him, just stopped dead at the traffic light on a green light, and he tried to miss hitting him by going to the right. But it left him stuck, while the IDIOT drove away. (He was hauling US Mail).
looks like a typical day in Canada...why the fuss?
Yep a nice July day
Cooperation and concern for our fellow human beings, such a sight to behold.
Just in time for spring break, can't ski on dirt.
In Minnesota we have snow all the time but you will never see a small plow like that helping it was a great idea
Colorado the most beautiful place on earth. Love it!
I never thought global warming can be so cold
Just wait until the heatwaves hit.
Very funny!
Lol!!! It’s gonna get a lot colder. This is barely a sample.
Cold is the new hot. Orwell hath decreed it.
Idiots like you think it means the world is getting warmer ,🤣🤣
LOL. Glad to be in Death Valley camping 75 degrees yesterday 70 degrees today. T-shirt weather.
The blizzard reminds me of the ones we used to have at Monida Pass in the 1960's and 1970's.
Truck drivers just loved the Monida Pass back in those days. Monida Montana was usually without
restaurant, hotel or anything for people to come down from Interstate 15.
Wow!!!! 😲 OMG!!! Please be safe out there peeps!!! 🙏🙏🙏💕
Colorado"s most popular trucker.
I would think people in Colorado would be a bit better prepared for snow as well as be able to drive in it considering It's Colorado. Texas I understand because they dont get bad weather very often.
To those that keep saying the truck driver should have known better , you have to understand we drive in stuff like this all the time. It's par for the course during winter. This is tame compared to some of the stuff most drivers have been in and drive through every winter. If we didn't put on our big boy/girl pants and brave the weather the shelfs at your local stores would be empty.
😜ppl don't listen should've stayed home or call n to not work b cuz it's not safe!😲 Out there!!
Im getting in my Tesla & getting out of here - Oh shit .
Lol...great comment!
Really bad blizzard . Vehicles lined up on the right. They said it would be lots of snow, dangerous conditions.
Not to bad it coule been 5 feet of snow 60" and we got 20"
That's a lot of snow. Please be careful and stay warm. I hope everyone is safe!
Good job at least you tried to help.
At least they made it home safe that night.
Praying for everyone's safety and recovery. 💕😇🙏❤
*Sarcasm* It has been such a lovely and beautiful day here in Laramie, WY. I'm loving this blizzard!!!!
U have no sympathy?? I know it's about 20 degrees where you are...but have a compassion.. sounds like you are doing great and prepared for this..
I imagine it does keep the dust down.
I live here! Well south of Laramie and am dig out of this mess today! You have no idea what it's like

Springtime in the Rockies! Yep.
Happy New Year! 😃
How did the 18 wheeler end up there? There is a curb behind it. Looks like it was backed into that spot?
Jeez Truckers Got To Learn!!!
Only dummies on the road in that
Probably out of state skiers.
Makes me happy that I live in the desert that is until July.
That wind looks brutal. I'll stay in SC. 71 degrees today.
And when August comes and Hurricane number 3 is working the east coast they'll be saying..."I'll keep my snow you can have the hurricane".
The thing is that everyone has something that forces one to be smart, calm, and occasionally courageous. NE has ice storms and hurricanes. SE has flooding and hurricanes. Deep South has hurricanes and tornadoes. SW has tornadoes, flooding, and extreme heat. West coast has earthquakes, fires, floods, and volcanoes. Upper midwest has extreme cold, extreme heat, tornadoes, and blizzards. You sort of get use to your particular version of crap and cannot imagine living with other peoples crap.
Very good
Stay safe everyone
Texas praying for yall.
That truck is hauling mail. that is why it's on the road
With the service you get from the postal service lately, it wouldn't make any difference if they held up those trucks for a day or two.
Excellent video send more videos of winter
Forced Dispatch and the ELD keeps truckers moving 🙄
There's no pay unless you're rolling...
looks like they are not rollin anywhere !!!
Forced dispatch and forced routing are the worst...
Forced Dispatch gives driver no options to stop. Stopping can get you termination papers. It's a tough spot to be in. I took my papers from 8 different companies over a 30 year span. Easy to get hired by anyone else just to find the same situation.
We've seen a really bad winter this year all the way down to the deep south where it never gets that cold. The weather is changing for sure worst winter storms ever had.
Live in Hawaï ? Bah.... Love snow !
so awesome
Fun in the snow
I apologize for whining about the 2 inches we got here in Poulsbo Washington. I am ashamed.
And I freak out when we get 3 inches. Remind me not to complain.
We deal with this stuff from mid October till the end of May. The only thing around here that closes are the schools ! We live in a white world for 6 months of the year and nothing stops its just another day ! Good luck out there and try to stay safe if you can !
No. Not like this, this only happens once in a while, and only emergency workers should be out there.
I know the feeling, We had a week of snow 10-13 inches mid February, we normally get under 3 inches.. we in the south finally experienced heavy snowfall along with 3-6 degree temperatures.... it didn’t stop the crazy drivers, me included
Beautiful ♥♥
I don't see one with snow chains...... I never leave home without them.
Living up in Snowmass sometimes when we get snowed in there was always a pub within walking distance in a restaurant but I know a lot of people aren't in that situation those are the ones I worry about.
Aloha you just don't drive during Blizzard. It's dangerous or you have a Plow shovel attached to front End in this case the rear end also.
I miss snow. 😔
I moved to Las Vegas. Don't regret my decision for a moment. Colorado was getting too crowded with mostly idiots.
How are the methheads doing in Vegas?🤣😂😂
@@KeepItReal1 Same as they are in Colorado. Leaving needles around, piling up trash... just look around the Platt River trails.
@@TheBandit7613 honestly, it used to be just a mesa county problem - wth happened.
@@bobbyaustralia8509 I happen to deal with homeless for a living. I work for the local government. It's drugs. Almost 100%. Heroin, fentanyl, meth. These people have already alienated their families. They've lied and stolen from Friends. They are not interested in counseling and don't want a job. This is a drug problem masquerading as a homeless problem. People say it's the price of housing. It's not. There's cheap housing out there but you're not going to find it in Venice Beach, Beverly hills or Littleton. I don't know how to fix this problem. There's a really good show called Seattle is dying. It's done by the local news in Seattle. It's here on RUclips for free.
That's insane!!!! We are at the Beach here in Florida 🌴🏖☀🐚
LET IT SNOW,,,,WOW
Oh man and I'm taking a road trip here in a couple weeks
You'll be fine. Just have some boots, warm clothes and some food...just in case.
0:28. Turn right for East US 40. Turn right next right for West US 40. That is confusing until I looked at it on Street View.
There is a guy in a tent (hot) about 100 yards from the road. Just sitting on a log, smoking his pipe.......no worries mate.
Everyone was told to stay home.... Thay should have listened!!!
March Madness weather. How it could make a person feel stern and resent
Massive Blizzard. Kind of you to help out.
...dang snow ate its Wheaties today, that for dang sure!!!
Awesome new fangled cars with no ground clearance all hung up in the snow haha
So the transport is still there?
I thought the new chain law, allowed CDOT to extend the chain law on both Interstates, as they deemed necessary. Am I wrong?🤔
Gods returning very soon!
Boy when they say stay off the roads
Why do assholes still think their cars and trucks can go though anything
Is going somewhere that important in this kind of weather
Ya done fucked up by passing. LOL
wow dude
Looks cold.
This is the snow we should have got in Canada but didn't this year.
omg when was this
I was there 18 hours froze to the ground in a blizzard
Is this near aurora co. Mercy it's nither fit for man or beast.
My diesel 550 Rebel Ram could of pulled him out. Pulled out worst with bingo cord. 8000 lbs at 40 mph makes a difference 😅
