Have you considered making a booklet (cheat sheet) with pictures, descriptions, and lengths of ribbons required to assemble the braids? I would definitely purchase it. I forget the specifics.

joanjones220 I think so. Make 3 to begin with. That way you’ll know how well they’ll fit together without wasting a bunch of ribbons if it doesn’t work and you’ll know if you need to cut them longer or shorter. That’s how I figured out the lengths I needed... trial and error.
I have many videos on smaller mums. I tell you either in the video or description what sizes I’m using. I make different styles with different sized ribbons. You’ll have to see which style you like
Suzy Q I have never tried making this braid with soft satin ribbon and I wouldn’t recommend it because this is one of those braids that needs to have “clean” lines & edges. You can only get that with acetate/ poly satin ribbons. If you want to try it with the soft satin I would guess you would need to use hot glue to get the ribbons to fold correctly & hold their shape. Hope that helps & thank you for watching!
amzn.to/3itle6u that’s a link to Amazon to the brand I prefer (McGinley Mills/ Berwick) it’s 1.3” (1&5/16”) acetate or poly satin ribbons. I used to buy ribbons from various online places like homecoming mum stores, paper mart, etc. The colors never match up if you try different brands and some of those don’t even tell you the brand! And the shipping is insane. I started purchasing from Amazon this year. I always get free shipping and the prices for ribbons are good. If you’re buying white or black you might be safe getting another brand. I got a white off brand and it’s been fine. amzn.to/33paoIl (that’s the link) but I’m sticking with McGinley for colors. those links are affiliate which means if you order from clicking on them I’ll get a few cents for the sale. Those are my true opinions. buy them where you want. if you do purchase from Amazon I appreciate any support for growing my channel! thanks hope that helps.
H Cooper/ Crafty Bug thx! I’ll absolutely click the link. I’ve hosted a ‘mum making event’ for my daughter’s team for the last couple years and learn something new each time! You make great to the point videos and I’ve watched the last couple of years!

Easy to follow, thank you! Mine took 27 pieces of 7.25" to get a full 18" braid/chain.

Thank you soo much!! I'm definitely going to use this tutorial to some of my future projects!!
Glad it was helpful!
Please help. I pulled mine right, but it still came apart. :(
what type of ribbon did you use?
Is this 1.5” or 7/8”? What length do I cut for 7/8 and 1.5? Help!
all that info is in there you just have to look
Would this braid hold its shape if the whole thing was in the poly satin?
As long as ribbon is stiff and creases you should be able to use it

I have 5/8" satin ribbon but it's soft so it doesn't really have a hard crease. Will it still work?

Do you have a recommendation on where to buy this type of ribbon online? They don’t carry it our Michael’s or Joane’s here in CO.
