My favourite and hated part of this MV is JAO's part. Let me explain, so many people in this world give you praises and smile when you are around. But once you've turned your back, they are also your bashers/haters - BACKSTABERS. And there are those that outright shame you and outcast you because you're different. There are still a lot of people who are stuck in their ways and lack empathy. Acceptance, Inclusion and Respect!
I have heard of Alamat but haven't listened to any of their songs. I got curious only because Stell, Justin and Pablo watched this MV and reacted to it while waiting for their meet and greet.
Wahhhhh this is why i"m so glad I'm subscribed to you Hurraira! your gentle and observant Alamat is so underrated! Their concepts, cultural distinction is so special and they make me so proud! According to threads and staff comments about the scenarios in the mv: - Mo's struggle is being accepted among other filipinos despite anti-blackness and his social class (he only has his fish friend :( - Taneo's trying to get rid of intrusive thoughts about his ex - Alas actually got injured here and had to get a tetanus shot :( - Tomas's father passed away a few months before their ppopcon 2022 live premiere performance - Jao is not accepted for being /different/ and his religious trauma. - R-JI IS JUST HAVING A DOUBLE WHAMMY OF A ROUGH DAY
the last minute and a half of the song is just gorgeous, the layering of the voices, and Tomas and Mo's voices floating high above the chorus, their adlibs, falsettos and runs, WOW, stunning. Been listening to this song on repeat. For anyone who has experience lost of a love one, i feel the pain of longing in this song and the mv. Great acting as well esp Tomas.
That red candle is an example of folk Catholicism in the Philippines. There are candles for specific wishes ex. you want a friend's arm to heal quicker so you pray and light up an arm-shaped candle. In Jao's case, I see two wicks. I think those are two candles wrapped in twine, so it could be a prayer to be with someone forever. I think there are similar practices in some South American countries.
Your reaction is absolute joy to hear! Thank you very much. It is not just because of your high regard for Alamat's artistry, but especially because I learned much from you. I found new things in the video, a testament to the mv's multilayered meanings. Superb reaction! If Alamat reaches global heights, many of us will look back to you as one of their legendary reactors, similar perhaps to the Kpopsis of SB19 (who I started watching at a time when mahalima were just beginning to be noticed).
I've been waiting for your reaction to this video. This song showcased the vocal abilities of the members. Just like you I'm always in owe of Mo and Tomas' vocal acrobatics. Alamat is so special. Thanks for VR Hurraira. Until the next Alamat mv.
14:26 A survey a couple of years back resulted to the Philippines being the most emotional country in the world, and at the opposite of the spectrum being Singapore. I kind of agree. When, people think of emotionality, people think of sadness, but there's a whole lot of other emotions such as joy and anger. I feel like if all the characters in Inside Out were set here in the Philippines, they would all be so intense they'd be as though on steroids. And I think, we're good at expressing them through art and infecting other people with that intense emotionality as well. I don't know if they work for Singaporeans though. 😁
This is a sad song about hoping a for a love that is never ending. Alamat never disappoints. Have you reacted to their Day and Night M/V? If you did I must have missed it.
The musical instrument seem to be string instruments from a Rondalla. The contrast between wishing for everything to be forever, but in reality it just isn’t is stark here. People are dead, dying, missing, rejecting or unattainable while dreaming of everlasting love.
I love this song so much, it's SO beautiful. I haven't been able to stop listening to it either! FYI, the person who wrote it is the same one who wrote Sa Panaginip Na Lang, and he said that the songs go together in the one storyline.
Yes, there are legends behind the legend (alamat). That's why i love them, they may be young but they work with people who are excellent at their craft: their vocal coach, dance coach, creative director who is also a film maker, and even the composers and directors they work with for their songs and mvs. The creativity of the team behind them is really on another level
Thank you for this RV, Hurraira. It was so hard to watch the boys suffering in this video. I think the red twin candle symbolizes being bound together by a relationship…Jao’s scene is very symbolic and metaphorical. One of the theories was religious trauma/religious discrimination as he was ironically being driven out by church people who are supposed to tend to the hurt and suffering…I do love the ending chorus with Tomas overlapping with them. Check out another Alamat live song with Thyro Alfaro entitled “Litrato”, it’s very ballady and beautiful.
Subjectwise, It is actually closely related to Sa Panaginip Na Lang. Here, the song provides the real life happening as to what they wished to avoid in their dreams in SPNL :)
Thank you so much for reacting and loving their song and the MV. ❤ You’ve perfectly articulated the same emotions and opinion I have about this song and Alamat’s otherworldly angelic voices, and more. 🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼
You pronounced the title perfectly. Well done! This song is my favorite right now. It's still warm from the oven, having dropped only a few days ago and so so good!
The strings in the beginning and end is Banduria, it's the main instrument played in the Rondalla ensemble, traditional Spanish colonial music. But they don't have that in Spain since we changed the nunber of strings and made the tone lower. You usually hear it in folk dances and you know it's Filipino the first 3 seconds.
Hi Hurraira, I just want you to know that The Juans and SB19 has a collab for a Telecom Company(TM) ruclips.net/video/Z4Ff98HoJMk/видео.html. I'm not sure if this is an advert or maybe a promotional song. It doesnt have eng sub though.
As always, top notch rv from you, Hurraira 🙌 When i thought all is said from all the rvs ive watched, you always would deliver a different take and thoughts. Thank you for appreciating Alamat 🫶🏼 as much as I do ✨

You're fast becoming one of my go-to Alamat reactors each comeback cycle 🤎

Alamat is my 2nd favorite Ppop group next to SB19. They are very underrated. Their vocals are insane.

This song is actually the contiuation of Sa Panaginip na Lang according to the writter of song.
