  • In pig breeding, hybridization is understood as the crossing of pigs that have been bred for heterotic compatibility in terms of reproductive, fattening and meat qualities.
    When crossing, pigs are used not selected for heterotic compatibility according to economically useful traits, and during hybridization, pigs are used previously tested for heterotic compatibility for the desired traits.
    Hybrids achieve much better performance due to the heterosis effect.
