I still kind of feel like Twilight Princess is the most complete Zelda game ever made. Huge open world to explore and a whopping NINE temples, all with unique themes and gimmicks to go through. While I loved Breath of the Wild's open world and simulation based gameplay, I really miss the unique dungeons. The beasts are interesting, but everything ultimately is just a Sheika tech themed dungeon with fairly similar ways to go through them. Meanwhile in Twilight Princess, every dungeon is has its own specific theme and introduces unique gameplay elements in every dungeon.
Twilight Princess is the best Zelda game to date and n one will change my mind. I am glad to see that other people agree that Twilight Princess was a good game.

You can do what you want, no limitations. Yes the puzzles use the same "formula", but you can complete them is so many different ways that they don't even feel like the same puzzle. Many people don't like this game beacouse they are not use at a "non linear game". There are so many things you can do, i just recently found that Boblins can mount bears, or that lynels can teleport. This game is insane. TP is amazing, but botw is different from the regular "Zelda formula".
I’d say Majoras Mask is my favourite game ever tbh. It’s atmosphere, replay ability, dungeon design, story, 3 day mechanic, side quests, music, pacing and the fact that there’s so much mystery in it make it something really special to me.

@@InfiniteBits I noticed how most people when playing skyward sword liked to slightly move the wiimotes, and that’s where the problem came in, there wasn’t enough movement and speed for the wiimotes to capture When I played this game as a 4yr old lad, I was swinging the wiimotes round like a proper sword and I got far with it
Solid list but my personal favorite is Majora's Mask. I really enjoyed the dark atmosphere, story, mask, side quest, it was fun having 5 versions of Link as well.

"Not a single noteworthy flaw" really? 4 dungeons, and all but Stone Tower are mediocre for the series' standards. There's also the bottom of the well quest, and multiple issues with having to redo tasks after resetting time for quests like Kafei and Anju, where if you mess up the Sun mask retrieval you have to start the entire hour long ordeal over again (and even then the quest's time specifics are a pain for unveil). MM is definitely unique (as something that reuses 90% of its assets can be) but to pretend like there aren't cracks in the seams is a big stretch, just as I would consider calling WW easily the most visually appealing.
@@EvilApple567 You do you, I guess. I think the dungeons in MM are all really solid, and I don't mind the game not hand-holding you through the quests, so if you screw up you'll pay the price. I do agree that the bottom of the well kinda sucks, but pay attention to my choice of the word _noteworthy_ here. I'm not saying the game is literally flawless, but if the worst part of a game is a small dungeon that mildly inconvenienced you, that's pretty damn impressive in itself.
I feel like people underrate Skyward Sword. I mean your opinion is your opinion and I respect that, but Skyward Sword is SO good. The story, the dungeons, the bosses, the motion controls(a bit controversial but I dug them) everything came together so well. Anyways great video and I would love to see more Zelda content.

How am I the only one in this comment section that thinks that ocarina is undoubtly the best Zelda game, reading these comments feels so alien. Ocarina of time is the game I grew up with and it is my favorite. I play it multiple times each year and get overwhelmed with nostalgia.
I don’t get it though… _Ocarina’s_ flaws were limitations of the time, _BotW’s_ flaws could easily have been remedied in the finished game. and even in gross output, _Ocarina of Time_ still creates the strongest atmospheres, and portrays the strongest sense of adventure.

Honestly although OoT is one of the best Zelda games (and one of the best games in general) it’s such a breath of fresh air to see a list where it’s not number 1. Anyway, loved the video and the list (though I probably would’ve swapped MM and SS around)
YES THANK YOU! I love that game, but its starting to get old to see at #1 It does SO much right, but I feel like people overlook some of the flaws. I still love the game and think it is a 9/10, but Zelda is the only videogame series to have multiple 10/10 games.

100% agree with Majora's Mask. It's too many side Quests that you have to be lucky and catch at the right time. What angered me the most is if you're in a dungeon, looking for fairies and the 3rd day is about to hit, you have to go back in time, resetting your progress!

I love your rankings. My top 3 are the same. I go back and forth between TP and OoT as my #2. I feel like nostalgia plays a huge role. TP imo has the best dungeons, bosses, and items in the series. BotW has easily become my favorite game of all time.
Skyward Sword is greatly underrated. I'm kinda convinced that a lot of people had defective remote plus units as the motion controls were amazing for me... but I played it on a new system and new controller. The story was by far the best of all. There was no real overworld... but the zones they used to replace the overworld was the most fleshed out world the Zelda games have seen... much closer to a smaller world like in Link to the Past.
To all the comments, you aren’t “edgy” for picking Majora’s Mask as your favorite. The 3 day mechanic was annoying and there weren’t very many good dungeons. I’d honestly put it below SS since SSHD came out.
Sad my favorite Windwaker is at #4 but happy to see my second favorite, Twilight Princess, also at your #2! 👍 I actually prefer the more linear, focused Zelda experience with open world elements, rather than a totally open world with a weak story, as BoTW was. Pretty much everyone likes link to the past more, because of the story and more focus. Not to say that it couldn’t work… you could have a good story tied into an open-ended structure like breath of the wild. Hopefully they do that with botw 2. Windwaker and twilight Princess are better games for other reasons too, besides having a better story. They control better, they have better dungeons, and they have a better sense of progression, as you acquire more key items as you go. Botw was inferior in all those areas as well.

Ma lit wold be something like this 1-wind waker (yes the game has its flaws like the sailing but it and most of its other flaws were correvter by the hd version, whitch is better in every way aside tge fact that the tingle tuner is no longrr with us. It has the best art style of any zelda game, aging like a fine piece of portuguese wine, a incredible gameplay and story having the best ganon and zelda of any game. Another flaw is the triforce quest, the bad tetra turning zelda moment and not having a not linear gameplay like its preducesors, those flaws would be non existing if the game got more time to develop, a thing that only majoras and wind waker have in comun that is being the only 3d zeldas without more time to develop, is majoras case thats realy good but in wind wakers is the thing that makes the game be in some ways a an incomplete gabo. No lie: the first thing I ever did in Breath of the Wild, after the title theme played, is jump off the cliff. I was shocked that I could no longer get away with that without instant death like in previous zelda games.
I only have one nit to pick: OOT Link wasn't born in the forest, he was born in Hyrule and taken to Kokiri Forest as an infant. SO he was all but born there

I found botw to be the only zelda game that I couldn’t get into, it abandoned too much that I loved about the series in favor of generic western sandbox tropes. Also the combat was tedious and shallow with little to no variety and didnt feel rewarding enough for me to want to break my ghost and goblins weapons on mobs.
I was super shocked someone else shared my opinions on MM and WW. All of my friends love those Zeldas whereas I wasn't impressed. I love the tone of MM but hate the timed sidequesting. With the exception of flopping OoT and TP, we had the same list.
Very interesting that Twilight Princess is your 2nd favorite! My ranking goes like this: WW > BotW > MM > OoT > TP > SS. I enjoy playing OoT, especially the 3DS version, a lot and more with randomizers. Wind Waker is prob my favorite game of all time, I have the biggest nostalgia for that game
One of your biggest complaints for Majora's Mask was time management and having to manage your time for certain events with certain characters, that is literally the best part of Majora's Mask, and making every character have certain time specific events that can happen . Imagine if Majora's Mask didn't have this system, I would imagine it wouldn't be nearly as fun. As for your complaint on the side quests not being as "fun" as the quests, in my opinion the side quests are the main meat of the game and help build the world and characters. This ties in with your first complaint because these side quests are directly contained at a certain time of day on a certain day, which makes everyone's playthrough sort of unique where one person might experience one event and another will experience a completely different playthrough. I still respect your opinion and think that your completely entitled to it, and it was a great video.

In fact I still give it a solid 9.5/10 cause it is soooo good! I just think that overall. The dungeons and bosses are slightly lacking and the overworked is relatively boring! However, the graphics are so good and the soundtrack is amazing. No bad songs at all. I love watching the growth of link and the story is super compelling. Having to save your sister makes it such a personal experience and I love it. Great game. I was recently on a Zelda marathon. Already played Breath of the wild, Wind waker, Twilight princess, Link's awakening. But man I couldn't keep up with Skyward Sword, it has to be one of the worst Zelda's ever made, it's boring af. It made me brake my zelda rush and made me throw the towel right after finishing the first temple. Uninstalled it and went to play Metroid Prime Remastered instead.

@@shaloon64 I’m just not a fan of being timed. I realize you can slow it down and all, but still gives me a sense of being rushed. I would also note that I included the HD versions of Wind Waker, TP, and SS, as those are cleaned up tremendously from the originals. I’d put Majora higher if I didn’t include the HDs.
@@PublicGameDefender I'm not a fan of being timed either, but for some reason when I played this game when I was like 8 or 9 years old I dont really remember being rushed. I think my dad took over and played some parts that I struggled with tho. Haven't played any of the HD remakes yet, but I might in the future.
I do enjoy skyward sword, but some of its gameplay choices are baffling and surprisingly amateurish for this series. Like why after WW when people complained about how barren the great sea was they makes skyloft even more barren and disincentives exploration because even if you DO find a new chest, can’t do anything about it until you find some cube on the surface. And giving you a needlessly limited inventory slot. And while I do love that they included some new races, some of them were functionally no different from the existing ones and felt like an off brand version.

"Not a single noteworthy flaw" really? 4 dungeons, and all but Stone Tower are mediocre for the series' standards. There's also the bottom of the well quest, and multiple issues with having to redo tasks after resetting time for quests like Kafei and Anju, where if you mess up the Sun mask retrieval you have to start the entire hour long ordeal over again (and even then the quest's time specifics are a pain for unveil). MM is definitely unique (as something that reuses 90% of its assets can be) but to pretend like there aren't cracks in the seams is a big stretch, just as I would consider calling WW easily the most visually appealing.
@@EvilApple567 You do you, I guess. I think the dungeons in MM are all really solid, and I don't mind the game not hand-holding you through the quests, so if you screw up you'll pay the price.
I do agree that the bottom of the well kinda sucks, but pay attention to my choice of the word _noteworthy_ here. I'm not saying the game is literally flawless, but if the worst part of a game is a small dungeon that mildly inconvenienced you, that's pretty damn impressive in itself.
I feel like people underrate Skyward Sword. I mean your opinion is your opinion and I respect that, but Skyward Sword is SO good. The story, the dungeons, the bosses, the motion controls(a bit controversial but I dug them) everything came together so well. Anyways great video and I would love to see more Zelda content.

100% agree with Majora's Mask. It's too many side Quests that you have to be lucky and catch at the right time. What angered me the most is if you're in a dungeon, looking for fairies and the 3rd day is about to hit, you have to go back in time, resetting your progress!

I love your rankings. My top 3 are the same. I go back and forth between TP and OoT as my #2. I feel like nostalgia plays a huge role. TP imo has the best dungeons, bosses, and items in the series. BotW has easily become my favorite game of all time.
Skyward Sword is greatly underrated. I'm kinda convinced that a lot of people had defective remote plus units as the motion controls were amazing for me... but I played it on a new system and new controller. The story was by far the best of all. There was no real overworld... but the zones they used to replace the overworld was the most fleshed out world the Zelda games have seen... much closer to a smaller world like in Link to the Past.

Sad my favorite Windwaker is at #4 but happy to see my second favorite, Twilight Princess, also at your #2! 👍 I actually prefer the more linear, focused Zelda experience with open world elements, rather than a totally open world with a weak story, as BoTW was. These two Zeldas are the pinnacle of that formula, for me!

Pretty much everyone likes link to the past more, because of the story and more focus. Not to say that it couldn’t work… you could have a good story tied into an open-ended structure like breath of the wild. Hopefully they do that with botw 2.
Windwaker and twilight Princess are better games for other reasons too, besides having a better story. They control better, they have better dungeons, and they have a better sense of progression, as you acquire more key items as you go. Botw was inferior in all those areas as well.

1-wind waker (yes the game has its flaws like the sailing but it and most of its other flaws were correvter by the hd version, whitch is better in every way aside tge fact that the tingle tuner is no longrr with us. It has the best art style of any zelda game, aging like a fine piece of portuguese wine, a incredible gameplay and story having the best ganon and zelda of any game. Another flaw is the triforce quest, the bad tetra turning zelda moment and not having a not linear gameplay like its preducesors, those flaws would be non existing if the game got more time to develop, a thing that only majoras and wind waker have in comun that is being the only 3d zeldas without more time to develop, is majoras case thats realy good but in wind wakers is the thing that makes the game be in some ways a an incomplete gabo. Yet, its still incredible)
2-majoras mask (since I talked EAY to much in wind wakers sections ill just say, the game has the best nocs out of any game till this day, the mask sistem is perfect, but it has its flaws, so I dont say to mucb ill just say, great bay is the best example of a bad dungeon in any zelda game)
3-botw & totk (honestly, I dont have to say why they are do hy in the list, you know very well why)
4-ocarina of time (you know the upsides soo ill say the down ones,they are almost non existing lol, I just placed it a bit down cause it does not compare to the ones above imo)
5-twighlight princes (i never finished this game yet, I loved o much what I played is a realy fun game, damn the n64 and gamecube days were realy the golden age of zelda, i dont have a lot to say because I did not finish the game, but yeah, I will beat it some day, is realy cool)
6-skyward sword (honestly, i realy, REALY wanted to like this game but is just not good, the problem isnt even the controls, the game simply isnt fun, no cap, if you never play this game you will not be losing a lot, it was the most badly spended 60 euros of my life)
Y'all can hate me all you want, but from the modern Zelda titles Twilight Princess and even Skyward Sword were better "Zelda" games in my opinion. Dungeons and characters in the world are MUCH more interesting! BotW's "dungeons" (if we can even call it that) are lifeless and unoriginal, and characters are meh...

No lie: the first thing I ever did in Breath of the Wild, after the title theme played, is jump off the cliff. I was shocked that I could no longer get away with that without instant death like in previous zelda games.

I found botw to be the only zelda game that I couldn’t get into, it abandoned too much that I loved about the series in favor of generic western sandbox tropes.
Also the combat was tedious and shallow with little to no variety and didnt feel rewarding enough for me to want to break my ghost and goblins weapons on mobs.

Very interesting that Twilight Princess is your 2nd favorite! My ranking goes like this: WW > BotW > MM > OoT > TP > SS. I enjoy playing OoT, especially the 3DS version, a lot and more with randomizers. Wind Waker is prob my favorite game of all time, I have the biggest nostalgia for that game

One of your biggest complaints for Majora's Mask was time management and having to manage your time for certain events with certain characters, that is literally the best part of Majora's Mask, and making every character have certain time specific events that can happen . Imagine if Majora's Mask didn't have this system, I would imagine it wouldn't be nearly as fun.
As for your complaint on the side quests not being as "fun" as the quests, in my opinion the side quests are the main meat of the game and help build the world and characters. This ties in with your first complaint because these side quests are directly contained at a certain time of day on a certain day, which makes everyone's playthrough sort of unique where one person might experience one event and another will experience a completely different playthrough.
I still respect your opinion and think that your completely entitled to it, and it was a great video.

NOT a bad game at all. In fact I still give it a solid 9.5/10 cause it is soooo good! I just think that overall. The dungeons and bosses are slightly lacking and the overworked is relatively boring! However, the graphics are so good and the soundtrack is amazing. No bad songs at all. I love watching the growth of link and the story is super compelling. Having to save your sister makes it such a personal experience and I love it. Great game. Just my least favourite of the bunch :P

Personally I’m not the biggest fan of the art style and the beginning is kind of boring. But those are literally the only negatives. None of the dungeons are bad to me and same with the bosses. I just find most to be great but not exactly spectacular. Still amazing tho. Midna is a great partner and being able to switch to a wild was so interesting. Also. The fights with king bulblin are super dynamic and the final boss is one of the most cinematic and epic boss fights EVER!
4. *Ocarina of Time*
This was my first Zelda game ever. But on the 3DS and I literally can NOT fault it at all. I love basically all the dungeons with my favourites being the forest temple and water temple. I can’t deny how innovative this game was and it literally is almost perfect. However I just think future games improved on the concepts this game introduced. Plus the story and final boss is just so good and so captivating!
3. *Breath of the Wild*
I’ve never played this lol. It’s i too expensive haha :’). But it just looks so amazing and there is so much content. I can’t wait to play it but obviously since I haven’t played yet this is just on what I assume it will be like. The list may change when I actually get it. But it just looks so amazing and the reviews from other people make it seem like an AMAZING game!!!

I don’t understand why this game gets so much hate. I personally never had a problem with motion controls and I actually don’t mind Fi at all. I like her lack of a personality because it makes her change at the end so powerful and the goodbye so heartbreaking. I think ALL the dungeons are amazing and most of the bosses are above average or great too. I think the soundtrack is just AMAZING and the story is BY FAR the best. Plus the ending is just so powerful. I wish people would look past the flaws and appreciate just how amazing this game truly is. But I do respect your opinion haha

I was recently on a Zelda marathon. Already played Breath of the wild, Wind waker, Twilight princess, Link's awakening. But man I couldn't keep up with Skyward Sword, it has to be one of the worst Zelda's ever made, it's boring af.
It made me brake my zelda rush and made me throw the towel right after finishing the first temple. Uninstalled it and went to play Metroid Prime Remastered instead.

I would also note that I included the HD versions of Wind Waker, TP, and SS, as those are cleaned up tremendously from the originals. I’d put Majora higher if I didn’t include the HDs.
@@PublicGameDefender I'm not a fan of being timed either, but for some reason when I played this game when I was like 8 or 9 years old I dont really remember being rushed. I think my dad took over and played some parts that I struggled with tho. Haven't played any of the HD remakes yet, but I might in the future.

I do enjoy skyward sword, but some of its gameplay choices are baffling and surprisingly amateurish for this series. Like why after WW when people complained about how barren the great sea was they makes skyloft even more barren and disincentives exploration because even if you DO find a new chest, can’t do anything about it until you find some cube on the surface. And giving you a needlessly limited inventory slot. And while I do love that they included some new races, some of them were functionally no different from the existing ones and felt like an off brand version.
