Can we explore a hypothetical role reversal.
Wind the clock forward to 2025 and we are now playing SOO Game 1 at Suncorp. Within the first few sets of the game, Cleary kicks down field. At the same time, a Qld forward comes through and absolutely cleans him up as he is falling. Clearly is badly concussed and can no longer play. The Qld forward only gets 10 minutes sin bin.
So NSW lose their star half back for the rest of the game!! The 18th man is called upon but just happens to be a utility player or a forward.
Do you still feel NSW fans would would be agreeing with this ruling, because Origin football is should be reffed differently?

Hey guys first time watching you all I have to say on Sua'ali' if he was going to tackle him around chest he should have gone down lower instead of just bending with legs straight if Reece Walsh ended up in a wheelchair for life what then

If you don't send Sualii then you're saying no tackle warrants a send off in origin which is crazy. If that's the case we would just repeatedly launch Collins and Tino at Cleary's knees next time he plays if we only risk 10.
Qld lost Walsh for the whole game. Intent is irrelevant, he was reckless and made Walsh catatonic.
If you allow Sualii to come back on then NSW receive a net positive from the incident and QLD are disadvantaged. How on earth can you justify that? By the fact that NSW fans are willing to give up on a series after 7 minutes?
If you re-watch the footage Walsh's 'slip' didn't affect his head height. The tackle was going to be high no matter what. If you disagree go and re-watch the footage....if you still disagree there's no helping you.
I'll tell you what Qld fans would be ropeable if that wasn't a send off. We also would never give up on our team after 7 minutes of game 1.
