Guys, what is it that when we go filming in Europe, the weather is always bad?! I guess the Dutch rain follows us everywhere.. I'm making a great Venetian dish today, sweet & sour sardines! Enjoy!
+Bart;s Fish Tales : Did we not talk about this last time..? you should have warned me so I could arrange some better weather...;-) Anyway, great fish dish again. Me personaly I do not gut the sardines, I like them the way they are but I do understand that it is a kind of harsh for most people...:-) Thank you Bart.
I think we need Fishy Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday,Thursday,Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Sardines are so good and loaded with nutrition, this recipe is another work of art.
Love tinned sardines, read recently that we should mix the small bones in to eat, as they contain a source of calcium. Like the look of this dish, really enjoy the flavour of toasted pine nuts. You are very adaptable in your outdoor kitchen set ups, we aren't having much luck with the weather either, rain and hailstones. Great video as always, Thank You Bart.
Such a simple little dish. We only get canned sardines here, but some day I'll get to Italy and eat them the traditional way. I do have a question. What about all the little bones? They disintegrate in the canning process, but how are they fresh? I didn't see you take them out before you ate them???
Just wondering, did you touch the raw sardines, then touch the rosemary and the onion mixture while still having the sardine juice on your fingers, then eat it?
+Bart's Fish Tales I apologize for the very late reply. It turned out well. I made some mistakes on the quantities (I added one instead of two onions and more vinegar...), but nevertheless it was very tasteful. The combination of sweetness with the sardines' saltiness was very fitting. Thank you for the recipe, Bart; it will become a staple of my diet!
Bart can you please do a video on this : www.eatingthaifood.com/2016/01/steamed-fish-with-lime-and-garlic-recipe/ its an awesome recipe here from Southeast Asia :D
There are never enough Fishy Fridays. And I know I'm not alone in this opinion. Bart! Thank you for sharing this delicious video. Blessings ChefMike

Great video! I've always appreciate your extra effort to cook outside instead of indoors. The environment compliments any dishes you're cooking.
+yaomaster It's sometimes hard but it's worth it!

The more you let them soak in the onion mixture, the better they get! I use to have them in Venice all the time, they are brilliant!

+Rose Doucet Hey Rose, I cooked my sardines with the bones, and the meat comes straight off it when it's properly cooked, so don't worry about that!
when you are coming to greece ? :)

Do you eat the bones of the fresh sardines or were they removed before you cooked them? Thanks
sardines.... aghrrrr...
+PsykhoPaul You don't like them?
I actually have all the ingredient for this dish, but my sardines are canned. I will try it nevertheless.
