I have travelled through Arbroath several times and travelled from Arbroath to Glasgow Queen Street once. The thing that I like about Arbroath railway station is that it's still retained it's roof allowing passengers some shelter from the elements while waiting their train to arrive. Much appreciated I am sure when you have those bitterly cold North East winds coming in off the North Sea. I'm not really sure if it has just the 2 platforms (Northbound and Southbound) or if it has one or two extra. I do know that it sits on the East Coast Mainline that runs between Aberdeen and London King's Cross which means that some regular LNER services stop at the station on a daily basis along with the many Scotrail services.
Believe it or not, because I was on holiday at the time, this was the only day where I had bad weather. Montrose was awful but then it brightened up for Arbroath and then the wind really kicked in heading down the road to the rest of the stations to Dundee
@@IanPooleTransportHub the home of Arbroath FC is Gayfield Park (very close to the shore) and it's notorious for the cold winds coming in off the North Sea.🥶 Beautiful place at the right time of year, but just be aware.😎 Smokies (smoked kippers an Arbroath speciality/delicacy) are well worth a try.
