After seeing a few videos like these, I think that Ambulance drivers in the Netherlands get Formula 1 driving school.
It's so strange to see those differences. Since my visit to Kyiv last year I also understand why the friend I was with last year (when she visited my country (Netherlands) was so stunned when, as we were cycling, the police came flashing by at something like 80 km/h, for (most likely) a resuscitation and were not slowing down for a small speed bump. Not only is the siren hardly used in Kyiv, they certainly won't speed over there. She kept staring in the direction the police car went as it had disappeared already and then asked me if there was a robbery going on. 'Nah... most likely this was a resuscitation. They won't use their siren when it's a robbery so they can hopefully catch the villains in the act'
The look on her face was priceless: 'Why don't they call ambulance then?' she replied ;) I explained they did, but the police is usually 1 on 2 minutes faster and carries an AED on board.

Although we have very similar ambulance layouts in Germany I sure do slow down for speed bumps. I once missed one during a night shift, simply didn't see it and didn't know that road in the response area so far as my colleague asked me if I was blind ^^
@@EnjoyFirefighting Almost everyone in Kyiv was speeding as far as I could tell ;). The friend also told me: 'It's like a rule of 'maximum-speed + 20 km/h. That's why almost everyone drives 70 where 50 is the limit and such'.
It could very well be they did slow down for the bump, but not considerably. As it was police, there was no need to take the bump any slower. Pair it with a rather rural road and the image is complete ;) .
But I think the main thing that caught her was the use of the siren. It's such a rarity to hear any siren in Kyiv. Combined with the speed she really thought something serious was going on (not to say that a possible resuscitation isn't serious, but you get the point)
@@weeardguy normal people are speeding a bit like the "limit + 20", and some spfew ecial ones are ... really speeding. I know one of them and well ... it's funny and interesting somehow what they simply do there.
S.Fischer i hope you had see a fire truck going to a call. They also get formula 1 driving school, because they can really drive fast with a big truck.
Wow awesome! Why did the paramedic get in the police car?
In the Netherlands we have "Traumahelikopters" (Medical Helicopter) they can't put them everywhere on the street, when the Police is available they bring the doctor to the location of the accident. When er is no Police they run or take some bike from an stranger to get there or they ask some cardriver, when i'm faster than the Police I also offer my bike. (You can see it in the video below this comment)

@@EmergencyResponsesNetherlands here usually local fire departments will provide a ride for the helicopter crew in case they have to land in some distance to the actual scene. Especially in rather rural areas there are so few police cars that it takes quite long for them to arrive at all, and then they have sth different to deal with most of the time ^^
