Cheers Paul! I was so happy when I found that angle! Managed to get the flag blowing on the first shot and then it seemingly wasn’t windy again to get a different version of it 😂
I remember visiting distilleries in Scotland. Everyone is unique to their own style. And walking around in the mountains you could smell the angel share. Visiting one in Japan is a dream. Love the video!
Beautifully done as always Joe. Your craft showcased with others sharing their passion is such a joy to watch. So nice to see all that goes into a bottle of whisky. What an amazing experience, I’m loving this series. Cheers 🥃
Thank you, Sam! It’s always fascinating exploring these types of workflows and products! I’m gonna be keeping a keen eye out for my next opportunity to film something like this for sure 🙌
It's mindblowing for me that your video doesnt get more views. I feel so glad that I can enjoy such great story telling and cinematography. (Not to mention its for free for everyone to see o.o) Another positive aspect was definitely the music selection. Keep it up 😊🫶
Loooooooove Japanese whisky ♥ i am so glad on you have hopped on this wave. When you are back in the UK perhaps a visit to one of the great distilleries 🥃
Cheers! It was only until a few years ago that Whisky just started to click with me. Funnily enough, I did another distillery tour with some friends in Scotland a couple of weeks ago and one said very abruptly to the group “I absolutely hate whisky”. Still managed to taste everything that came his way though 😂
Hey Joe! Sorry for being late and little bit absent! I watched all your vids but as you know life sometimes gets in the way haha Hope you are doing fine! The appreciation for the water at the beginning reminded me of my trip to Fujinomiya! The water from Mt Fuji is so clear and beautiful! Keep it up!!
My Opinion is controversial too. Wait until RUclips rolls out ADs while you are paused lol. I too also have RUclips Premium because I just don’t want ADs at all. But this video is about a company making whiskey. If you don’t like it then just don’t watch it. It’s a series that he discussed on his channel before about what he wants to make but he needs financing to make these since he is now moved to Japan full time and signed a lease for an apartment. I believe he does contract work withTokyo creative that does work usually for tourism agencies across Japan. Even Chiba Visitors Bureau works with TC. People complaining about ADs mid video and that this video is a commercial sound kind of entitled. To me these videos are like Ryotaro, Sharla, Tokyo Lens, and Chris Broad but Joe focuses on more cinematic 24fps editing and Color Grading as compared to vlog style raw SOOC 30fps editing.
That’s correct! I asked about this and apparently it’s very much an industry standard. Everything about this distillery is based on principles of Scotch style whisky, as taught by Dr Jim Swan, including the equipment itself.
Quite the irony that a Japanese whiskey made in Japan by a Chinese who studied under a Scottish. This should have been called “UN” whiskey instead since everything and everyone were all came down and together to produce an excellent product possible at the time.
Usually a big fan of your videos, but this feels like an advert. Can you clarify if this video is sponsored or if you have any affiliations with the brands mentioned?
Glad you're a fan of my work; a huge amount of work goes into making these! For clarity, the company I'm working with in Japan is doing some other work for Komoro Prefecture on a regular basis and I pitched this idea to make a film for my Made in Japan series. So yes, have been working together in some capacity but also genuinely celebrating the story unfolding here. I correctly marked it on RUclips as paid promotion/endorsements as well, so there should have been a pop-over about it.
Hey Joe, thanks for clarifying. As much as I enjoy watching your content, I think it would be fair if you disabled adverts on these kind of videos as people are already watching what's basically a ten minute advertisement. Being interrupted halfway through while watching this kind of rubbed me the wrong way unfortunately... Interested in hearing your thoughts about this subject!
Isn’t it why Japan biggest RUclipsrs are Native English speaking foreigners in the 1st place ? Ads purposes ? Unlike most, at least Joe’s videos are qualitative & subtle and shed light on craftsmanship, cultural aspects… rather than the hyper saturated content about animes or the hyperbolic stereotypes.
Super cool documentary, and the cinematography is just absolutely superb!!
Love this series! Thanks for exploring the local products!
Probably my favorite Made in Japan yet! Amazing job as always Joe. The final shot slowly changing focus to the Japanese flag outside is chefs kiss! 🤗
Cheers Paul! I was so happy when I found that angle! Managed to get the flag blowing on the first shot and then it seemingly wasn’t windy again to get a different version of it 😂
Beautiful. Exceptional work Joe. Looking forward to seeing more from the series!
Cheers! I’ll be back in the research phase now to find the next opportunity! 😌
Beautiful. Great work.
Love this - the theme and the production! It was so calming to listen and watch this!
Great documentary and camera work, Joe. Thank you!

Spectacular documentary.
Thank you! It’s been a huge task editing this all together, but I’m pleased with the results 🙏
The quality and effort you put into these videos is outstanding! A fan of photography, videography and whisky, so this video is the trifecta! 👏
What a wonderful video series! It is impossible to thank you for what I enjoy watching them. ❤❤❤
As interesting as ever by diving into the details, and beautifully filmed and edited...fantastic. (now I want some whisky!)

Shout out to Thomas Heaton for sending viewers your way! Been enjoying your content since!
Like before watch as usual
Always appreciating your support! Thank you!
Beautifully done and very informative. Not a fan of whisky in general, but still very interesting to see how they make it.

Foreigners seem to know more about Japanese culture than Japanese people do.
Love your videos😼👏✨
Please show us how was the taste like when it's ready 🥃Fresh and great production work as always!

I love whiskey too
Took me a while, but a few years ago it just started to click with me 🙌
4.46 Is that a spirit safe manufactured by Forsyths of Rothes in Scotland?

Valid comment.
