They are a three man Canadian band. Check out any of their songs performed at the US Festival in 1983 - I would start with "Lay it on the Line". I saw Rush 5 times but only got to see Triumph once. Both amazing bands. 😎
Just discovered your channel and I SUBSCRIBED after watching you all react to TRIUMPH. Your reaction told me that you give music a chance even if it is from years ago. THANK YOU FOR YOU PERSONALLY RATING A TUNE AND NOT PEER PRESSURE WHERE YOU MUST LISTEN TO WHAT YOUR FRIENDS EXPECT YOU TO LISTEN TO. YOU TWO ARE DOWN TO EARTH AND REALLY COOL. I GIVE ALL MUSIC A CHANCE. 😊😊😊😊😊
Yes, they are Canadian and also a three man band. Rik Emmett is the lead vocalist and guitarist. Rik excels at both. Lots of great songs. Check out Lay it on the line from the US Festival 1983. Cheers 🇨🇦
Gil Moore is also a lead vocalist, and he's great in a different vocal style, both awesome singers, pretty much split lead vocals on songs down the middle
The fact that these boys had never heard this song, let alone the band, but were jamming along to it immediately just shows the power and timelessness that is Triumph. Glad you loved it as much as us diehard fans!
just up the 90 in Buffalo checking in ! like Rush, they were like a house band 'round these parts - can't express how much a part of my growing up this band was ! EVERY ONE of their albums should be in rotation until you know them by heart, Twins !
The most underrated band in history, they were up there with Rush, Check out their sine Magic Power, And Fight the good fight, Kay it on the line, the drummer also sang!
I saw Triumph live at the Us Festival in 1983. They were awesome. Yes, like Rush, they were a Canadian trio, although after a while they started touring with an additional guitarist. They had two lead singers, both great, guitarist Rik Emmett & drummer Gil Moore. Some other great tunes to check out, off the top of my head, Fight the Good Fight, Magic Power, Lay It on the Line, Never Surrender, Allied Forces, Just a Game, A World of Fantasy, Ordinary Man…
Cheers from Canada. Triumph was the band that started my transition from listening to pop music to rock music when I was about 13 years old (specifically the song “Lay it on the Line”). Their’s was the first full length album I ever bought. Up until then , all I had bought were pop song 45’s (really small records with only 1 song on the front , and a B side on the back).
They are Canada’s other 3 pc band. Ric is arguably top 5 guitar player in the world. Back in the 70s Dad hauled electronics and delivered to a small warehouse in Toronto and I got to see Triumph, Kim Mitchell and Rush jamming for a couple of hours.
Saw them live in the late 70s, University of Texas at Arlington, Texas Hall. Other Triumph songs to check out are, Blinding light show, Just a game, and their cover of Rocky Mountain Way.
These guys came through town every year-ish and I tried not to miss a show. They were a positive for me when things were tough as a teenager. I'm grateful that I was able to see them ♥
They were primarily a three person band, but I added another guitar player at times. They are from Canada. Kind of like rush lite. Great lyrics, good musicians, this song is it even in their top five. Check out, never surrender, magic, power, lay it on the line, world of fantasy, and of course fight the good fight.
one of OG of canadian rock is ronnie hawkins (though american lived in canada). his band ended up playing with bob dylan and became the Band. later in the 60s there was the gues who, lighthouse, the stampeders, and the five man electrical band.
Triumph are a great band, Greta reminds as much of these guys as Zeppelin or Aerosmith, they got lost in the shuffle but their music still stands the test of time, great musicians and songwriters
The first Toronto area band to inspire other bands would be Ronnie Hawkins and the Hawks. The Hawks later became 'The Band' (Up on Cripple Creek, The Weight) after being Bob Dylan's band. That's going back to the 50s-70s, but it's a worthy rabbit hole to go down. There is a movie 'Once Were Brothers' that documents their story. Rush inspired Triumph, and was probably the most influential band of the late 70s and onward. Very under rated band. Rik Emmet is a phenomenal guitar player.
If you enjoyed this I can't wait to see what you think of Lay it on the Line & Magic Power. April Wine is another pretty good Canadian rock band. I Like to Rock, and Roller are a good start.
Probably the best band most have never heard of! Maybe the best lead vocalist guitar player ever! Rush and Triumph are both from Canada as well as BTO and the Guess Who. Rush was before Triumph but not by much.
My second favorite band from Canada! ...just behind my first favorite band period. ;) They've got a great sound. The only negative is that many of their songs sound similar. Check out the studio version of Magic Power next, then get back to more Rush
Oh man have you guys really missed some amazing music from the sixties on up through the eighties at least. Check out some more of triumph and April Wine too!
This is a truncated version of the song, find a cut from the original studio recording for a good comparison. There is a long intro that is not included and a bridge they they left out during this performance. The bridge that was left out is a somewhat of a sticking point to many fans, some loved it some hated it.
Back in the day Rik Emmitt was considered one of the best rock guitarists around…..Triumph live at the US festival “rock n roll machine” his extended solo is not of this earth…..you kind ask yourself …what the hell was that ?
Triumph is a three man band, but they have used a fourth person on some live tours for additional guitar, keys, and vocals. They packed arenas as a live band back in the day, but never got the notoriety that the legendary Rush received. Always kind of took a back seat to Rush. I loved both back in the day, but Rush has always been #1. Rik Emmett can match Alex Lifeson, but when it comes to rhythm sections, it's Rush over Triumph by a mile.
check out Lay it on the Line , Magic Power . Another Canadian band you should give a listen to is April Wine. Listen to I like to Rock, Sign of the Gypsy Queen , Roller . You wont be disappointed. Keep up the journey🤘🏼
another great 3 man Canadian band, awesomeness to the core, check out the original studio version around 4:17, this live one it seems to have cut out some great guitar at that point
Rik Emmett is like Steve Perry meets Eddie Van Halen. Great singer and guitarist!
They are a three man Canadian band. Check out any of their songs performed at the US Festival in 1983 - I would start with "Lay it on the Line". I saw Rush 5 times but only got to see Triumph once. Both amazing bands. 😎
"Never Surrender", "Lay it on the Line", " Magic Power" and other great songs from this band.

Next song should be ‘Lay it on the Line’
Definitely ✌️
Yes, they are Canadian and also a three man band. Rik Emmett is the lead vocalist and guitarist. Rik excels at both. Lots of great songs.
Check out Lay it on the line from the US Festival 1983.
Cheers 🇨🇦
I 2nd Lay it on the line from the 83 US Festival...
I was there that day. Triumph and Scorpions were both awesome. Van Halen would have been if David Lee Roth wasn’t drunk.
Underrated band!
I grew up listening to them. They always had positive rock, and were super talented. Cheers from northeast Ohio.
Another Northeast Ohioan in the house as well. Triumph is an excellent band.
@@jalkabre5904 LOL! Me too! Near Dayton!
just up the 90 in Buffalo checking in ! like Rush, they were like a house band 'round these parts - can't express how much a part of my growing up this band was ! EVERY ONE of their albums should be in rotation until you know them by heart, Twins !

Three man Canadian band. The masters of positivity rock. Fight the good fight , Lay it on the line from the US Rock concert live are great vids.
Yes another great Canadian band along with April Wine as well
.... great group; positive message.
Next(studio version): Fight the Good Fight, Magic Power, Just a Game, and Lay It On the Line.... All good.
Triumph was a terrific band that straddled the late 70s and 80s. Another powerful Canadian trio!
Never Surrender should be your next choice. Excellent song and really shows his vocal range. And it's one of their harder songs.
I saw Triumph live at the Us Festival in 1983. They were awesome. Yes, like Rush, they were a Canadian trio, although after a while they started touring with an additional guitarist. Fight The Good Fight is probably one of the most positive hard rock songs you’ll ever hear.
US Festival like everyone says. "Fight the Good Fight" live in Halifax is a must. They've always been in my top 5. Their songs make you happy.
They are Canada’s other 3 pc band.
Ric is arguably top 5 guitar player in the world.

Phenomenal song! Shoutout to the Patreon!!
Oh hell yes! Playlist worthy!
Real musicianship is timeless!! Doesn't matter when it was recorded.. still affects us!!!!
These guys came through town every year-ish and I tried not to miss a show. They were a positive for me when things were tough as a teenager. I'm grateful that I was able to see them ♥
Triumph was so uplifting
Fight the Good Fight....Lay It On the Line....you'll like for sure.....US Festival
AMAZING BAND ..I saw them live at the US festival 1983
You guys should watch Triumph perform at the 1983 US Festival in California, with over 500,000 in the audience. The video of it is on RUclips.
i highly recommend everyone who loves rock n roll to go check that festival out. One of the best live performances of that day.
They were primarily a three person band, but I added another guitar player at times. They are from Canada. Kind of like rush lite. Great lyrics, good musicians, this song is it even in their top five. Check out, never surrender, magic, power, lay it on the line, world of fantasy, and of course fight the good fight.
Their first album came out in 1981 called Allied Forces, and you should give it a listen. Yes, they are a trio!!!
"Triumph" the OTHER great, 3 piece band from Canada.!
one of OG of canadian rock is ronnie hawkins (though american lived in canada). his band ended up playing with bob dylan and became the Band. later in the 60s there was the gues who, lighthouse, the stampeders, and the five man electrical band.
I was 18 when this came out they are a great band and Rik is superb.
The argument back in the 80s was he is the best vocalist ever...he could more octaves than any other!!
Cool band+ great tune!
So good!
Triumph are a great band, Greta reminds as much of these guys as Zeppelin or Aerosmith, they got lost in the shuffle but their music still stands the test of time, great musicians and songwriters

One of my favorites from when I was a teenager in the late 80s
If you enjoyed this I can't wait to see what you think of Lay it on the Line & Magic Power.
April Wine is another pretty good Canadian rock band. I Like to Rock, and Roller are a good start.

My 2nd favorite band from Canada too, I gotta lean towards Nickelback 1st of course. Just kidding. RUSH!!!
Triumph was a power trio from Toronto.
Great 3-part harmony
bros this band has amazing songs check out their stuff!
Yup these guys rocked! Its a shame they were so under rated.
Yes they are Canadian and a 3 man band. If RUSH had a baby brother, Triumph would be them.
Lay it on the Line; Fight The Good Fight(live in Nova Scotia).
You missed the first couple verses of the song guys. Check it out in it's entirety and your minds will be truly blown
Oh man have you guys really missed some amazing music from the sixties on up through the eighties at least. Check out some more of triumph and April Wine too!
Another awesome Toronto trio…

Magic Power is my fav! ❤🤗
Power trio. Bad as hell. Right up to front of the line
SOO GOOD
Back in the day Rik Emmitt was considered one of the best rock guitarists around…..Triumph live at the US festival “rock n roll machine” his extended solo is not of this earth…..you kind ask yourself …what the hell was that ?
Triumph is mentioned much, but what a great group.
I think The Guess Who inspired Rush and Triumph. All great Canadian bands
April Wine and The Tragically Hip are also incredible Canadian Bands you should check out..
Fight the good fight is highly recommended by them
ACTUALLY YOU DID NOT HEAR THE INTRODUCTION TO "HOLD ON" THE INTRO GOES INTO HOLD ON.
Other great band from Canada is Motion Device.
Motion Device? Never heard. Any songs you suggest?
Everybody seems to love "Lay It On The Line", but a much better song is "Magic Power".
Have you heard the band April Wine? Just Between You and Me is the best
Other great canadian bands.Saga,Max Webster,Frank Marino.
Don't forget April Wine.
A Canadian GEM!!!!
Get the LONG version!!!
Triumph is a three man band, but they have used a fourth person on some live tours for additional guitar, keys, and vocals. Holy crap, you guys have missed so many great bands! I highly recommend you guys do some re

You need to do lay it on the line from them... yes three man band and yes Canadian
2B KLEEEEEEEEEER.... RUSH AINT GOT MUCH ON THESE KATZ🎉... BOTH MAPLE LEAF 3PIECES ... BOTH TOPPP SHELF🎉
Somebody’s out there
Another 3 piece Canadian band!
Fire!!!
People will tell you to listen to lay it on the line, or magic power. I would say never surrender, or street fighter, or world of fantasy.
Check out Zebra when you guys get a chance ,they are a great 3 man band !
You are missing the hole thing about triumph and that is their live performances try the us festival
Have you done any Bee Gees or Meat Loaf?
Much better off the album! No intro!
Try Zebra for another three man band!
You missed the best part!!!!! This version is cut.
Listen to the studio version.
Thank me later.
that sucked balls..u didnt hear the intro...the album track is a Masterpiece!
That song doesn't start like that
This was a soft song for them - later in their career credibility strained since they strived for Radio Hits. The early stuff is quite 'rocking" -
It was the record companies that strived for the hits, not the band themselves.
This version misses the intro, can’t judge the song without the whole thing! You would have liked it more!
this is the edited version. the original is better.
You missed the beginning of this song. The best part try a different version.
This is not the whole song
This is not the full song. Listen to the proper song, not the MTV edit.
Super short cut up version of this song , solo’s, half the song gone… a travesty
This isn't even the whole song!!!
check out Lay it on the Line , Magic Power .
