Yuna says there were many moments she wanted to quit the skating, and always her mother encouraged not to. I think this montage is a dedication to her mother who raised her up despite all the troubles.

I heard a bit different about the boot problem though...
The problem was that the ankle part of her boot lost solidity so quickly that it couldn't support her jumping as well as hurt her ankle.
I heard that she had to change at least 20 pairs of boots last season.
It's not like she couldn't afford a single pair of boots... :)

Another problem is that her jumping puts a lot of pressure on her boot so that the axis of the blade got mispositioned and loses the balance whenever she practices. Her mother tried to readjust the blade and find the right position and balance every time but she couldn't. That leaded her ankle injury and that leaded the back injury and again and again... what a vicious circle.
I'm so happy with the news that now the boot problem is solved.
Her mom must be very proud, Yuna is GPF champion,I hope she can win the world title too. How about her injury of the back? I don't speak Korean, that's way I don't have any news about her.
A little correction.
Yuna consulted with Japanese expert and that boots delivered to her a little before last Worlds. But it was too big for her that she couldn't even give it a try. She used her old boots as she originally planned.
Well, that's the story about Japanese customized boots. Because she had high expectation on it, she felt very sorry about that.
Now it's OK because an Italian boots company suggested her kind of sponsership. Nice. ;-D
If you've skated in Kroea for many years, I think I dont need to comment any more. I'm confused because I couldn't read any comment saying Yuna was poor here. Maybe I didn't read all the comments.
BTW, I got your point.She was not poor and we should not overly sentimentalize all the hardships she went through.

I'm not sure you understand what this montage is about. It's not about money. Clearly Yuna was not poor. But her familiy is not rich enough to fully support her either. It's been just a few years since yuna could get her sponsorship. Before that her parents had to pay for all the costs. You can imagine how hard it must be considering a firue skating was almost nothing in Korea.
She couldn't find any boots fitting her. Figure skating was (and is I guess) not popular at all in Korea, so she and her mother was very struggling for that.
