I would say that most Taro card readers and other forms of fortune tellers are scams. If they are for real, they would have correctly guessed the winning lottery numbers for the next draw and hit the jackpot and quit their jobs for good.

I don't usually comment but I am curious! Being as how we both have the same last name, have you had to deal with people belching out the Batman theme song when they see you? 🤣 it gets annoying for sure, but since most people I talk to don't know how to spell it I just tell them it's like Batman w/an E in the middle. Anyways, love your videos!

Tarot has always been linked with the occult. It's a picture book disguised as a deck of cards. Even the oldest decks have symbols of Alchemy hermeticism and the tree of life(qabalah). Its really a meditation tool for western mystics or occultists. The new age community and some later occultists decided to strictly use it for fortune telling and profit. Watering down what it was really intended for.

As someone who reads Tarot, in my experience it should be looked at as advice. As a way to reflect on what you've been through, accepting those emotions, and acknowledging where you want your life to go, what you're trying to get out of a career or if you want to stay in your job or network and grow. Tarot brings out our desires, fears, hopes, and provides reminders that we are in control of what happens moving forward

I agree--I also read Tarot and I do traditonal spreads that use the symbols and meanings of the cards to give feedback to the person to ponder and consider. It’s more like talking in counseling and coaching than anything else. There are common symbols and stories throughout all cultures in the world. Check out Joseph Campell and Carl Jung, who also refrence Tarot in their studies and writings about culture.
Oh, and the Death card doesn’t mean you’re going to die. It’s about change and reinvention. :-)

I'm a native Spanish speaker and when the guy was talking about crossing your arms it sounded logical to me, then you were all confused and that's when I realized, it is a translated saying and I understood because it is common in Spanish 😅.
In Spanish crossing your arms means staying still without doing anything to achieve your goals and waiting for the outcome to be what you oped for. It's a pretty common saying in Latin America. "No te quedes de brazos cruzados".

I lived on the continent for the majority of my life and it’s so funny when sayings are translated in a very literal way. Like “folding your arm” being more akin to sitting back and doing nothing. It reminded me of a Dutch football coach once saying on a BBC interview “that’s another biscuit”, which basically means “that’s a different kettle of fish”. Neither would really understand the other properly unless you’re reasonably well versed in both languages. Language is great.

It's more like "this is the kind of energy that exists for you right now" and then I can choose to use that or not, and I can use it in good ways or bad.

My best friend has been reading tarot for decades. He also reads auras. He refuses to read for children, wants to go into a reading with an absolutely clean slate, will give the client several decks from which to choose their reading (I think he’s got over 100 decks now). He is one of the most ethical people I’ve ever known.
I’ve had fake readings, what I call fishing expeditions (“I see an M”). I’ve also had a Lakota woman, after a visit to a sweat lodge, tell me what my recently deceased dad wanted me to know, stuff she would have absolutely no way of knowing (I even asked my friend, who is good friends with her, if he told her anything; man, he was so indignant!).
I’m skeptical, but the night before Halloween (Samhain), my dad, who had passed away several months before, clearly called my name, exactly the way he used to say it. My friend, the tarot reader, said the wall between this realm and the next is thinnest then.

I am also not a spiritual person, at all, but I love tarot. I look at it like a free therapist you can have whenever you want. Much like a therapist, the cards are just a way to look at your own thoughts and feelings in a new light. You give the cards meaning based on how you interpret them for yourself. They are a tool to help you think of new solutions to your problems and look at them from a new perspective. That's why they "work" for everyone because, much like a therapist often does, the cards just parrot your own thoughts back to you, but reframing them in a way you may not have considered before.
My first tarot reading was from a friend in college and she basically told me I wasn't happy in what I was pursuing (I was studying business at the time) and I should pursue something creatively fulfilling instead. I CRIED. Like full on sobbed. Because no one had ever told me that before and it was something I'd secretly wanted my entire life, but thought was impossible for me so I never let myself consider it. Fast forward ten years and I've hated every business job I ever had, quit them, and started my own creative career which I now love. Did the cards "predict" my future? Or did I just hear from the cards what I'd wanted to hear all along?

I ask my client to not tell me anything about themselves until after the reading. I ask if the reading resonates with them and if they have any questions. I feel I am helping them and so far, 30 years, everyone has been happy.

I’m a tarot reader. I don’t personally read for people as “telling the future”. I look at it as more of a “check in” in various aspects of life with the other person. And that’s how I read for myself as well. It’s honestly more of a taking of an emotional temperature? It’s hard to explain. For me, I don’t feel comfortable telling people super specific events like “you’re gonna have a baby” or “you’re gonna die at this age”. I just don’t see that when I read. It’s not to say no one else does…but for me it’s not the kind of thing I do. It’s more or less some loosely spiritual guidance and a kind of “weather forecast “ of a persons experience at that moment. It’s not as satisfying for folks looking for specific answers, but like….you should be making those decisions on your own anyway. It’s like going to a therapist…they never tell you what to do, but they lead you to decide for yourself in an informed and healthy way. And I’d like to think tarot can assist in a similar way

I think there's also some component of desperation and hope to a tarot reading. For many, when they decide to seek tarot (or similar services) they are lacking all hope from their usual systems of support (ex. Family, friends, work, medical providers, etc.). For the tarot reader, it's kind of crucial that no matter what the reading says that they frame it through hope and forward movement. And even though I know this and I'm skeptical, my last year in my doctoral program has me considering seeing out a tarot reader to give me something to hold onto.

I got my fortune told; it was really fun because it was specific. Like, I definitely did not meet my soul mate at a holiday party when I was 27 who was Hispanic or Italian. But I still got great help from it. She told me I would work with kids and dogs, so I decided to try pursuing those types of jobs and found I actually like working with kids. She said we would get a small black dog, and now we do, and I love him so much! From that perspective, it doesn't much matter if it's "true" or not as long as the reader is operating in good faith and not manipulating or exploiting someone's trust.

    @angeldelvax7219 2 года назад +11

Honestly. MOST readings are vague for a reason. A basic "knowledge" would make you think about the meaning, and, as you can see in in this video, interpret things yourself. It's normally NOT the reader giving the information, but the questioner.
In witchcraft, all tools are just that: tools. They are used to focus on a question, they don't give answers. The person(s) using the tools decide on the answers.
As you said before: it's just a moment in time. Tomorrow, things can be completely different. Whenever you get information, you ALWAYS act on it.
Often, readers who interact with you, and try to get you to provide information are seen as LESS genuine. Unfortunately, the biggest fakes do try to get you to say things so they can come across as more believable, but the best readers also use this information to give you REAL answers. The cards themselves don't tell you sh**, it's how you use them that matters ;)
(Yes, I use tarot cards sometimes. Along with sooooo many other tools.)
If you don't understand exactly what's meant, the information you get likely holds less value. That's not to say the reader didn't do their job correctly, it's just that you need to understand information for it to hold any value for you XD
As for the friend in October part: I'd LOVE to meet you in person! If you happen to be in the Netherlands in that month, send me a message ;)
As far as witchcraft is concerned; "the universe" doesn't care about gender. Asking what the gender of your future child will be wouldn't get any consistent results because of that XD

I would say that it is usually accurate because every card means something else to someone else. It's kinda more of a self-mindedness thing then fortune telling. Guidance of sort. How you interpret the cards is in the eye of the beholder. Advice that you can take or not. Something to look out for. I think that's what is beautiful about it.

I'm quite dismissive of stuff like this, my entire adult life's been centred on science and physics. I don't want to be too mean, but I genuinely think the world is getting less superstitious as time goes by and I think that is leading to a more accepting and progressive society.

Binge watched your second channel ✅✅ Also besides the one child and long-term partner, they all saw a pivotal point in your career, indicating a big shift either to give up or charge forward. Two of them mentioned potential health declines as well, which, tbh with the chronic fatigue along with your past struggles with eating disorders may be something to look into along the lines of musculoskeletal health. Not to scare you or be a downer or anything, but if you do happen to have a grain of salt tarot interpretation, it could be a good chance to avoid those inconveniences that would maybe pop up as you get older. Your channel always makes my day and I'm happy to see you trying out new things with an open mind and a practical salt grain to give it levity. Honestly would love a follow-up video in a few years or something, especially because the last reading mentioned this October and next year as important dates, so that could be interesting.
For tarot readings and myself, I've only gotten them from my partner who does them, but they've always been mostly accurate and helped calm me down, see things more clearly, that sort of thing. I do think it mainly serves as advice and food for thought, maybe opening up possibilieties you hadn't thought of before (of course, this depends on the type of reading/question/etc). There's also just some readings made for fun that are less serious and just provide some entertainment if you're with friends or something. If you're interested, you could always seek out some specific spreads (there's loads everywhere on the internet, i think tumblr might be a good source) and see how those differ from tarot reader to tarot reader.
    Really liked this video overall!

I don’t use traditional tarot decks but I do enjoy reflecting on the insight and emotions that come up when I do oracle card readings. I am no longer able to work (due to severe illness) but when I did I did oracle card readings professionally and for friends and family. And I like that each deck is so unique in its artwork and messaging.
It’s has allowed me to think about and process a lot of things. I’m undiagnosed ADHD (all the symptoms), so when I just meditate or journal, I get super anxious and can’t relax into my thoughts and emotions easily. With the cards, it’s just like reading a story, and I can focus on the image and the words and allow myself to react to those authentically and explore what is coming up.

I do oracle card readings for a good friend and I found that for them it helped them guide their mind. I just liked the artwork on the box and when I opened it up it turned out that it was a goddess set and the artwork was the goddess who bears my name and my friend was convinced it was a sign. I just really like seeing women who look like me and this goddess is traditionally drawn to look like me.

Agh, I totally agree with what u said at the end that u should always be discerning with readings but as a psychic, medium and reader myself, I do wish u could have worked with someone who strengthened your faith and trust in the messages received a little more. When I'm reading for clients, rather than just talking about their future which they won't know is true or not till later, I always tell them things I see about them and their lives currently or I tell them about the relatives I'm connecting to first so they know I'm legit and not just making up things on the spot. Not only does this give me confirmation and confidence that I'm reading correctly but it will also allow my clients to know they aren't being scammed and that they can trust me and what I relay to them. I think this is super important.

I have found tarot is best communicated and understood in the language most comfortable for the reader. I think for at least the 2nd the two online sessions (and maybe the first) would have been clearer, more personal and overall better in what I'm guessing is Spanish - maybe Portuguese? But obviously not if you are not fluent as well. Also - solid readings aren't that far out in time. When I provide a reading I make it clear the reading is good for a week to two weeks tops so think REAL LIFE - not open ended 'how's my future going to look.' Tarot is already pretty nebulous so vague questions just end up with 'word salad' readings. Thank you for doing this video Ellbat!💖 Happy to do a reading for you anytime! ✨

    3) The look on your face when you are trying to understand the last gentleman - was wickedly funny. I believe he was telling you "try not to block yourself" (crossing arms). He is encouraging you to "pursue new options" and "put yourself out there". In my yoga class, the instructor tells us to "lift your heart" - I tell myself I am open to all possibilities - so maybe it's something like that?
    2) The intuitive reader was really interesting. I think you were looking at the reading as it being a bit more fun/funny than she was. Were you nervous? You made jokes out of a lot of what she had to say.
    1) I personally think that the culture your reader grew up in - will influence the reading. She seemed to focus more on your health and trying to encourage you to pursue healthy habits.
I have read Tarot before and before any reading, I pray to my God (I don't assume we have the same God) to work through me to tell you what you need to know. The reading is ONLY intended to highlight different paths that you might be aware of (or not) but these paths are ones that you haven't taken yet or investigated. (As Damian says - it's intended as advice.) Picture you and your BFF walking down a path in the forest - s/he might point out another branch off the path. You don't have to take it - just be aware it's there and you might learn something else if you do go down that road.

We do get a lot of repetitive story lines but i always ask for some specific message of inspiration or growth to come through that will help each recipient. Tarot should really just confirm what you already know which in itself is extremely helpful. Thank you for this fun video:)

But unpaid Native Americans one from the USA, and one from Mexico just came up to me and said things more accurate. Tarot reader here. I like the in-person reading because it's my favorite way to read and it seemed more in-depth. The online ones seemed generic.
Tip for finding legit readers: Trust your instincts. Pay attention to yourself when you're told things.
If a clear person or situation comes up when they mention something, without you even having to think about it, you're on the right track.
Also, in my experience, you can't address the future without addressing now. Now is how you'll end up where you do.
Any legit reader will point out the things now you need to address to get the best future. It will not always be positive but it shouldn't make you afraid at all.

What a fun video! I read Tarot and to me it is like a Rorschach test. It shows you visually what is swarming around in your consciousness so you can easily decipher the messages. I always tell clients that this is what you are creating. If you don't like it you have the power to change it. You are in control. I really felt Angela was giving an accurate reading. The first person was OK but the third person was so vague and wordy it really as someone getting a reading from him, I wouldn't remember much. He wasn't clear and concise, and he rambled on and on. I would never go to him. What I want as a client if I go to another reader is clarity and this guy was just too confusing. I never ask the name of the person before I do a reading and I don't want them to tell me anything until after we have done the basic spread. Then I may ask questions to make sure I am on the right track. Many times, I hear words or phrases and that is usually more accurate for me than even the cards meanings. I love when people come in depressed and leave smiling and happy. I try to focus on the positive and how they can change their lives. I don't predict death and I do not feel qualified to discuss health issues. I prefer career, love, travel, where to move, etc. The only time I did health I could see this man was in a miserable marriage and I told him if he left his health would improve but that was up to him. You cannot live in an unhappy marriage without it affecting your health. People have free will and they may be paying back karma or there may be a reason they are treading water or unhappy. I can advise but it is up to the individual to change or stay static. Warning: I have had friends who have gone to fake readers. If they say, "for $50.00 I will burn a candle for you to burn away your family curse" or " You have a curse", etc. please run like hell! These are scammers! A true reader will NEVER say things like that to you!!

And I really watch good tarot readers on youtube and have my decks at home also. And about the child thing... Its really up to a couple how many they would prefer and then see how it happens naturally..How life has changed to that moment when babies are gonna come. The reader lady was so chill and she was very zened out (not in like the creepy guru way but like very grandma-y). She kept talking about turtles, lakes and wolves/wolf dogs (tamed wolves). I ended up finding out a lot about my ancestry that year (had zero idea I was going to do so at the time) and there's a painting of one of my ancestors with an all black wolf dog in a canoe. The turtle and the lake were also directly related but I don't want to dox myself.

As a hypnotist, reiki master, and practicing charlatan (I even invented my own "Nihilist Tarot" for fakes like me), I can tell you that we phonies rely on the types of general statements made, along with the fact that you will remember the things that confirm your biases and expectations more strongly, and the "misses" will typically get forgotten more quickly. Similarly, I can tell you that people who do readings in person frequently have very good skills at reading body language and changes in tonality and will incorporate your reactions into their readings. Some people do this intuitively and that fact can get interpreted as a "psychic gift" rather than more natural forms of perception and emotional intelligence. I still read for friends who insist I have a "gift" even though I have explicitly told them what I do and why it works. Even with silly card names like "dubious yes brigade" and 'The Anti-Duck," people take this surprisingly seriously. I've been thinking of doing this on RUclips, but I don't know. I think I'd be a total loss as a prophet.

Fun! The tarot itself is just a tool--there's no real power in it, but it can be used to set up a framework for real intuition. I know for a fact there are highly intuitive people who can "see"/sense things better than most and it's mindblowing when you come across someone genuinely connected like that, whether they use tarot or not.
That being said, while most of the readings I've gotten were also for fun, I've noticed that once you're in that sort of zone everything becomes a sign or significant in some way. It's like a nudge to be more mindful and aware of ourselves/our surroundings. It can help us remember that every action is a choice that has consequences, large or small.
