Thanks for this. I'm a beginner in lighting, as a volunteer at my small local theatre, and know nothing about theatrical lighting and the board. I've 'played' with adjusting the lighting manually, but have no clue about programming. You video, along side a 'cheat sheet' provided to the team, will help work out cues etc. I have my first show tonight.
Hi, I'm kinda stuck in the same situation at the moment. How well did you adjust to the job if I may ask? And would you maybe share your cheat sheet with me? I'm somewhat desperate and would appreciate any source of help ;D
Is it possible to backtrack cues one by one, and if so, how do I do it? I bring down and up the master playback without pressing ‘GO’ and that takes me straight to the first cue.
Hi, another fine training video! I am though a little confused about the actual difference between the ordinary playback faders and the master playback?
There is no functionality difference. The Master Playback just has dedicated controls at a convenient physical location on the desk for an operator to step through a typical theatrical cue stack. Also the master playback has a quiet "cherry" GO key rather than the more clicky keys used elsewhere on the console. This is convenient for small venues when the lighting operator is sat close to the audience when a clicky key could become distracting for the audience.
Hello, I have a questions about cues. If I want to copy a lighting cue , for example , I have a lighting state on cue 5 and I want that exact some state for cue 11 without the hassle of trying to figure out what lights I used, how do I copy and paste that?
can you make cue lists on the playbacks? i have multiple scenes that i need to run in a theatre and it would be great if i could have scene 1 (with cues) on playback one and then scene 2 and all the changes on playback 2 etc?
Yes you can. The playbacks can all be their own independent cue stacks - i.e. they are not just single-cue submasters like we had on consoles from pre-2000s. You can configure the playback button to be a "GO" button for the cue stack on that playback. Be aware however that these buttons are "clicky" so could be annoying if you sit close to your audience. The Master Playback has a quiet "cherry" key for its GO button.
When pushing up a playback fader, the lights initially turn on white before fading to the stored colours. This can also be seen in this video demo. What do I need to change to stop this happening, or am I misunderstanding how they are supposed to work?
Hello - when you record onto a playback, the cue will be recorded with the console's default colour fade time. To edit your playback's colour fade time, hold VIEW, and tap your playback's button. This will open the playback in the cue's window, where you can then tap on the colour fade time. You can then use the encoder wheels to set the fade time to 0.0. Hope this helps. Email support@zero88.com for more information.
Hi, few questions, a. Do you see the Cue list when you are operating the Playback on any of the playbacks other than the Master Playback ? b. Cue #0 - in playback, does the moving in black happens in this or it happens only after Cue#1 ?
Hello, a) To view the Master Playback, press and hold VIEW and tap the Master GO button. To view a different playback, toggle your faders to "Playbacks", and then press and hold VIEW and tap the button of the playback you wish to view. b) If you go into "Cue 0", this essentially releases the playback. This means Move On Dark will not prepare the fixtures for cue 1.
Hi! I have a question.... In my theatre I have LEDs and normal lights (spots and fills etc...) I can programme the LEDs fine, but the normal lights don't record at all. I can control them by pushing the faders up and down, but they don't record. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
@@rossc7425 Sounds like he patched his LEDs channel for channel rather than as the correct fixture profile. The "normal" lights, which I guess just means a conventional tungsten light, would normally be patched as "Dimmer". Once patched correctly, all different types of lights, whether single channel tungsten, or multi-channel LED are treated the same way on FLX (on older consoles, like say Fat Frog, the conventionals were on faders but LEDs were handled on the separate fixture section - not so in FLX, where they are all treated equal as a "Fixture").

Hi Dennis, Pleas email support@zero88.com and one of the team will help you. Please provide them a little more information, or maybe attach a showfile to explain what you would like to achieve
Do you mean after Step 3 you want to loop to Step 1 next? If so I would programme a 3 cue sequence onto a playback and either step it with the playback GO button or convert it to a chase and set a time for each step if you want it to run automatically.

(HTP master is enabled) I also see you are playing back in the 'channels' mode. Do I not need to switch to 'playbacks' or is that simply for the faders
