    At 6.45, how did you know that V in the middle is 4V?

      Hi, Since it is a uniform electric field V is directly proportional to the distance between the plates.
      The total potential change across the plates is 2 therefore at half way the potential change is 1V meaning it is 4V at that point.
      Remember potential is all about the energy needed to remove something from the field and since you are moving away from the plate the field is generated from the energy needed for you to remove it (or it is being repelled by) is decreased.
