@@FDE-fw1hd throat bass is never a subharmonics. Subharmonics is when you can shift to head/chest voice with vocal cracks/fry that can loosen up the vocal folds/cords that can result into subharmonics. Throat bass and vibration isn't not considered but it is cool though
that wah wah sound reminds me of the sound when you tune the piano. when the individual strings are very close but not the same in tune it creates the same wah wah sound.
*When truth sounds like a clickbait. Awesome job, thank you! Upd: What you think about intervals farther than perfect 5-th? Would be really amazing to listen that kind of subharmonics with your voices!
@@davidlarson3905 thx for the answer! Yeah, couse all the principles says it should work, but I can barely hear it with my voice. Should sound amazing with yours (and different at the time). P.s. I really appreciate what you do and how it discovers the music! To say it's interesting- to say nothing. This (sub)harmonic "thinking" of a sound has turned my way of listening to another level. I will never be the same, actually. And I love it! 😀
Idk if i'm deaf but I cant hear any of the harmony notes of the part II. I ear almost all the notes in the first part tho but in the second I don't get it
From 2:50 the theory seems off. Shouldn't you sing C3 (5x) and Eb3 (6x) to get Ab0 (x)? And C3 (6x) and a very flat Eb (7x) to get F0 (x)? Personally I didn't actually hear the subharmonics you wrote. In 3:12 with such close low notes you just get a binaural beat (the difference between the frequency) and you can hear how quickly that beat changes by the slightest inconsistency in holding that interval. Sounds awesome either way :)
Wait you both just created a subharmonic by singing two separate normal notes by a fifth apart. How did you do that? Didn’t the vibrations had to be constant and coming from the same source or be at close proximity?
honestly i think with humans you can assume its just kind of lucky if you really hear the note resonating clearly cause it has to be perfect un frequency to clearly hear it in the room. So you wont hear it all the time when two untrained people just sing two notes that are a fifth apart, you have to be a little lucky that both are singing it with very few cents off pitch to have a resonating subharmonic. So unless you have two people with perfect pitch its gonna be kind of difficult to make it resonant
@@christophjuntgen2470 oh I get it, it has to be exact. So it can be done, it’s just really tough. Btw, I couldn’t hear the subharmonics made with the two modal voices. Even with headphones. I think it just comes back to what you said, it very hard to do
You are sort of right. This is why Bobby and I were standing really close to eachother and singing *at* eachother. This room’s boomy bathroom acoustics also helped mesh the frequencies together as well. There are always subharmonics present when different pitches interact, but to get the subs to a point where they actually because present requires some specific conditions. Another important thing to note is the harmonies have to be *perfect* and not in accordance with equal tempered tuning. This is why the 3rd we used in this video might sound a little flat to some. It’s tricky to find the right spot honestly - but once you find that spot you can feel things “lock”. Super tough to sustain but feelsgoodman
from 1:25 and after do you see the marks appearing on the short hair guy throat ,what the fuck happened ? did you summoned a demon or perhaps maybe he scratched his neck
Bobby Bass has the voice that I want my boyfriend to have and talk like nice and deep and bassy low like very low what a sexy voice!!! I want a boyfriend that talks just like him I would LOVE 💕 that so much!!! Like his voice being very naturally deep and bassy and low like born with a voice that is deep and bassy and low!!!!!!
My twin and I spent a while last year during one of his visits singing the first subharmonic between us, partly as a proof that it is produced by the fundamental mixed with the fifth. We should try doing some more of these some time (though, we are both high tenors rather than basses). :)
The theory makes sense; bass guitar players have been doing it for a very long time. Phew, though, doing it with the voice and you both needing to hit pitches precise to each other - absolute pitch can very, but the intonation between you both had to be perfect. That is a crazy undertaking, for sure. Awesome job.
Once you can get to a lower level is there a way to increase the volume? Really belt it out? Almost to a scream. I sing the blues and I'm interested in singing similar to Blind Willie Johnson who used a false low voice. Thanks
Bobby's face when you can hear that first sub-subharmonic is priceless. Dudes like "Holy hell, this actually is working"
This is way too cool
Thank you bro 🙌 gotta teach you this technique soon 😉

I know it’s the same interval, but i think 0:56 is better
2:05 is absolutely stunning to me. It sounds so ethereal.
im a beatboxer and i have heard a lot of crazy techniques and sounds , but this base singing is mind blowing 😲😲😲😲😲😲😲
Probably something that won't be used in beatboxing, but we'll see
@@FDE-fw1hd subharmonics in beatboxing is like. a whole thing. a good amount of low bassists use it i think. Not like, a lot, but a good chunk
@@suprememasterleader3355 subharmonics exists, but not this kind. Throat bass and vibration bass is technically subbarmonics, but not this one

This is amazing, something so soothing about bass voice. 0:55 was my fav. Bobby's Eb1 was so freakin cool!!! :D
Genuinely one of the coolest things I’ve seen/ heard
1:56 unreal
This is great!
The Harmony is right on point.😁
Maybe one day you and Bobby can do a song together.
It sounded so pleasant to my ears. Well done, guys.
David: sounds like a dwarf, looks like an elf.
Me: visible confusion
This is fucking wild, the possibilities are endless
0:51 well damn
voices deeper than the mines of Moria
This is just freaking awesome!👍
Any chance of you two finding a way to use this in a song of some sort? Would be cool to hear what you come up with.
0:12 that perfect fifth was THICK as FUCK
im still stunned that you can count the number of vibrations with some of them
the combination of the two of you together... that much bass should be illegal LOL! This was seriously cool though
This made my ears happy
That shook me, I loved the colab

You guys are making some freaky sounds straight out of that movie Annihilation
What a good bass he is!
These are the angels who would be singing as the gates of heaven are opened to unleash the fury of the heavenly host 😂
This is legendary
that sounds so sick! Good job guys!
His neck turns red!!!!!! God daaaaaaaamn
I love how it’s just them looking like they’re bored and doing nothing
If you ignore their heights, then David is an elf and Bobby is a hobbit
This reminds me of the Mystics in the movie Dark Crystal............ ABSOLUTELY LEGENDARY
This sounds sick!!!
THIS IS SO FUCKIN DOPE I LOVE THIS, YOU GUYS ARE MIIIINT THAT SOOO GOOOD
Two bros chillin' in the bathroom
2 feet apart
cause... they're singers (?)
What the hell is that ,they know more bass then codfish and inerta 😂
Dude how do you when you want to sing subharmonic technic cause have tried so many times but I always fail please guide me on this
beat boxing duets? would be sick to see/hear
nice overtones!
Someone make a spiritual track with all of these pleaseeee

At 0:29, they sound like my breathing treatment tbh!😂
Woooow
I also can hear some high frequency
0:39 D#4
1:10 F#4
1:57 F4 and F9
2:05 F4
Makes think of the Mystics chord in the Dark Crystal from the 80's.
This sounds like the music from Ash Lake in DS1.
0:40 sounds like misty mountains
oh so it’s just the beat frequencies? makes sense
Where do I find music that sounds like this?
Dune part2 soundtrack. Yes.
Dude compared to Bobby you sound like an elf. And not in a bad way. This is way cool
bro imagine if they broke the shower glass

CAN YOU PLEASE TELL ME....
1:20 i hear a C2 subharmonic HAHHA

Why don't one of you sing vocal fry and the other just chest note, literally making subharmonic
That C#3 + C3 was delicious.
I KNOW!!! I love it so much!!

As David Kahn would say: "More, give me more, give me MORE!"

Omg yes!
Bobby has a really powerful voice, but David has an unbelievable range (and you taught me subharmonics)
I don’t know very many bass singers at all really that haven’t credited David with teaching them subharmonics as well as myself lol 😂
Have you ever noticed that Bobby's speaking voice sounds crazy similar to Tim Foust's speaking voice?

because subharmonics in the right room are *very* loud
